Hollow sound, strong bass, poor mid/high range sound

I have a Play5 Gen1 which has suddenly changed the sound quality it produces to a state where it sounds hollow, the bass is strong but the mid/high range sound is weak, tinny and sounds hollow. I have reset the speaker, played with the room settings but with no luck. I am beginning to think that I have a hardware problem. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to correct this.

It sounds like you have done all you can by resetting the speaker. My suggestion is to now submit a diagnostic report to sonos and then reach out to the support team on Twitter and ask them to take a look... give them the diagnostic reference and see if they can tell if there is a hardware fault.
