Our connect amp recently started dropping the volume for a few seconds them returning back to the regular volume. There seems to be no correlation with the software and out other connect amp does not have this problem.

If this happens with all music sources and on a specific unit, this is certainly something we will want to have a closer look at. That said, it would be best to give our support technicians a call to take a look at this erratic volume behaviour in real time and determine if the unit itself needs to be replaced.
