Bass broken - can it be fixed?

My 5 year old Play 5 (which Sonos already changed for me once) is broken.
There is no bass anymore - and Sonos support say it's got to me exchanged.

However, they don't cover it through warranty, so I would have to pay myself.

That's not going to happen, as I can find other solutions for the same money, which I would expect to last longer than 5 years.

But before I throw it away: Is there anything I can do to fix the bass?
