Airplay 2 no longer working

I have a Sonos One, Play 5 and Soundbase. When Airplay 2 first launched it worked seamlessly.
After updating to the latest software it no longer works. When using 3rd party apps (spotify, apple podcasts, etc.) the 3 Sonos speakers still show up but when I select no sound plays, it drops and then it plays thru the phone again.
Playing thru the Sonos app still works (but just not as convenient)

Does anybody know what I can try to diagnose the issue?

I actually think that's an issue in the MacOS, since your reset process is completely on the Mac side, and not at all on the Sonos side. It sounds like there's some sort of "there's a long pause, I'll kill the AirPlay 2 connection" process happening on the Mac side. Have you posted this issue on an Apple forum to see if others who are using AirPlay 2 with other devices are seeing the same kind of thing?
Yes, I’ve seen the MacBook Pro/AirPlay slowness issue mentioned online previously. So it might be worth searching Google for a possible solution to the matter. See this LINK.

I don’t think this is specifically related to Sonos, because it appears to involve playback to other AirPlay devices too.
