When I share the audio from my Playbar TV input to others sonos products the audio cuts out on the other speakers, Amp, play3 etc

When I share the audio from my Playbar TV input to others sonos products the audio cuts out intermittently. However, when I steam audio from an audio streaming service or another sonos device to my playbar there is no issue. The issue seems only to be "one way" and so I doubt this is a network connectivity issue.

Sonos...I Beg You For Outdoor Speakers!

I've been a loyal customer so long that I'm still using the 100 controllers (over 10 years). Sonos has rolled out a whole lot of very impressive products during that time. That said, the one glaring omission are outdoor speakers (with the built in amplifier to tie into your Sonos network). It would seem to be a very easy solution, and I'm still baffled that there have been no products launched for those of us who like to have music outside! John

Alarm, what a waste of a great feature!

I currently have 3 Play 5's in the house (Master Bedroom, Kitchen, & Garage). They work great and I'm finally home to enjoy them since I work out of town 9-10 months out of the year. The new user interface is much better than the old but I still need to get used to it. Anyways...on to the issue. the ALARM. In the Master Bedroom I have the alarm set to wake up and a certain time every day of the week to the Sonos chime. The Sonos Chime is nice and I like the way it gradually gets louder. However my big complaint is that: 1) You can't turn it off from you iPad, iPhone, etc? At least no where I've seen. 2) Where is the Snooze button? Nothing pops up on the screen of your iPhone/iPad to let you know to snooze or turn it off. I don't understand why this isn't part of the ALARM feature. 3) You have to get up to turn it off at the Play 5 by hitting the MUTE button, which does turn it off but if you hit the MUTE button again...music starts to play. At this time it appears to

Karaoke system with SONOS home theater system

Hi, I want to set up a karaoke system with sonos home theater. I got a mixer with optical in and optical out. However, when I optical in from the my samsung tv and optical out to the sound bar, i cannot get any sound. Can anybody help me on this? The mixer I am using for is Behringer FCA610. Or is there any other interface remmended?

Podcast android

Sonos app does not recognise podcasts downloaded on my android phone (kitkat), I've tried downloading both recommended apps Beyondpod and Pocketcasts neither work! I've also tried moving files to podcasts folder in the root . What happening sonos? This worked perfectly on my previous iphone

Enqueue full albums from a UPNP server

I have an XBMC server that serves its library of music via UPnP. When I configure my Sonos to 'Show Rhapsody UPnP Servers', my Sonos controller will see XBMC and allow me to play music from it. However, there seems to be no means to enqueue an entire album... I must enqueue each song separately. Is there an option to enqueue entire albums from a UPnP server that I've simply overlooked, or is this action unavailable in the Sonos app?

A/V Receiver with Sonos surround units

Hi, I am in the midst of building out a Home theatre setup and like many would like to reduce the number of wires in my living room.  I currently have a PRIMARE SPA 22 A/V receiver ([url=http://www.primare.net/assets/_managed/cms/files/SPA22usermanual.pdf]http://www.primare.net/assets/_managed/cms/files/SPA22usermanual.pdf[/url]) and also a pair of JM Lab Focal front speakers both of which produce exceptional sound. I would like to know whether it is possible to use my existing 2 channel setup with the PRIMARE SPA 22 A/V receiver but introduce a centre channel and 2 rear surround channels all connected to the A/V receiver so that I can have the A/V receiver pushing the sound from a BluRay movie/player to the the Sonos components and the 2 Focal speakers. Connect Amp - how many models

How many different models have there been? I see different models being sold on Ebay. I'm asking because I have a playbar and a sub. I am adding ceiling speakers that I will wire to my connect amp. Does it matter which model I get? Thanks

Existing Sonos players suddenly can't connect (flashing orange lights)

For a long time now I've enjoyed a Sonos setup with a bridge, a play3 and a play5.  This has always worked fine, but suddenly my controllers can't find any components other than the bridge, and when trying to re-add any of them (pressing mute+vol up) the indicator light flashes orange.  When re-adding the controllers (I've tried a PC, iPad and iPhone) detect that I've pressed mute+vol up (they change to the 'connecting...' screen) but always fail to connect and show the 'Your Sonos component was not found' message. My wireless network is working ok, and I can see that the Sonos equipment is set to a relatively empty wireless channel (1), my own wifi network is set to a different channel (11). On occasion the Play5 has been able to connect, but drops off within 20 minutes or so.  Any help or advice you might have would be greatly appreciated! Tom

Can I use my Sonos offline or without Internet?

I live on the 8th floor of a 12-story condo building and want to use my Sonos for a party on the roof where there's absolutely no Internet connection. Will I have to purchase a separate wireless hotspot device to be able to set my Sonos up there? Or is there a way I can play music on my Sonos without an Internet connection at all? (I can bring my bridge and my laptop, too.) I rely on Spotify for my music as well -- not sure if that makes a difference in whether I'll be able to play songs without Internet connection. EDIT! So I found this thread on the line-in configuration ([url=https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1271]https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1271[/url])... except I don't have an option to select "Line In" under my Settings! There's no line in tab or autoplay menu that I can find at all... help?!

Modifying the icons displayed in Sonos Favourites

I love the look-and-feel of the new app (running it on an iPad 2, iPhone 5C & an iPhone 3Gs in guided access mode as a dedicated controller). There was a slight learning curve - especially finding how to change rooms, enable cross fade & play tracks in the queue in a random order. I like the new layout of the main screen but was wondering is it possible to personalise the icons used under Sonos Favourites? I'm not really a fan of the size of these icons as they are significantly larger than the ones above them (ie. Sonos Playlist, Music Library, This iPad, Line In, Radio & Add Music Services) I have 4 items in my Sonus Favourites:- a Radio Station (displays station logo), a couple of shortcuts to two folders in my music library which contain playlists of artist compilations & new albums and a shortcut to one large playlist (not a Sonos Playlist) containing several hundred of my favourite tracks. Other than the Radio Station the 3 shortcuts display the default icon which IMO is

Over Age 50 and Can't Read Controller 5.0

Sonos is a great wireless High Fidelity system. I own 9 units, representing almost every type of component they make, and have been enjoying music and radio feeds all along... until... Rev 5.0. Hate to say it, but they finally reached the "Peter Principal" of Product Design... now it has 99 number redial, 64 microwave settings and print the size of a cheap fortune cookie. All the while I just needed to reach my 6 closest friends, nuke a hotdog and find out what I needed to be doing "in bed" later tonight. I can no longer make my hearty recommendation to my fellow AARP members because they lost their easy-to-use edge with their hard to read, hard to navigate interface. The problem is not with the user, the issue is with the designers that are 20-somethings and still able to read the fine print on the bottom of the tequila bottle and have the manual dexterity and memory imbedded in youth. C'mon... am I alone in the woods on this one? Evidently, I'm told, that they prefer to

"Your Sonos System Not Found" after it was already connected and playing

My system has been connected and having no problems.  Then I started getting fairly regular error messages on all my controllers "Your Sonos System Not Found".  Then the controller functionality returns and I hit play again... only to see that same system not found message 5-10 minutes later.  I'd love some help trouble shooting this problem.

If i need to temporarily unplug a sonos component that is already configured and working, is there a re-start up procedure, or will it reboot itself when it is plugged back in?

How to switch albums view from tiled view to list view in new phone app?

Where is the setting to view albums as a list instead of a tiled layout? I can't find it. I have a few artists with many, many albums and, when browsing through albums of these artists, having to scroll through the albums is an extremely lengthy and tedious process.

Hi, I have burned CDs onto my iTunes (which include album artwork) these albums artwork do not appear on my controller. The SONOS picks up the music from a NAS drive. Please advise. Many thanks Steve

How to get old iphone app?

I had just been getting a few iPod gen 2s specifically to use as Sonos controllers. I'd got two of them in, and installed the old app before the new App came out yesterday. Unfortunately I hadn't yet downloaded the old app to the third before it was updated yesterday. The new app reports as not compatible with my third Gen2. How can I get the old one & install it?

New Sonos app - no sleep timer?!

Am I missing it, or is there no longer a sleep timer option in the new iOS/Android apps? It's still available in the desktop app but that's a real pain when I want it to turn off after, say, half an hour (usually at bedtime) and do not have the computer on. I do quite like the new app, but that's a bit poor. I was trialing the beta as well and logged that sleep timer was missing a few times. My comments seem to have not been noted! :(

I HATE the new iPad and iPhone controllers, and I am mad as hell that you would force this piece of crap on a long-time and frequent user like myself. Is there any way to revert to the previous controller version? Where is the Queue on the iPhone version??? I use the queue all the time.

Is all the music I stream to my Sonos system going through Sonos' servers?

Is it true that the music I stream to my Sonos system goes through servers at Sonos? And that if Sonos' systems go down I won't be able to get music from online services like Spotify and Pandora ? I thought that once I had my equipment set up and running, the streaming was handled by my hardware and my own internet connection. See: http://www.charlestonsw.com/sonos-services-little-secret/

Hi, I got 3 play:1 registered, but I never received the email confirmation. I'm sure I used my personal email account, but it is not registered. I created a new account, but non of my devices shows up in the registered list. What can i do? Jose

Controlling Playbar sound with TV remote

I've just bought and set up a new Samsung UA55F8000AM television, along with a Sonos Playbar, Sub and 2x Play:1 for a home theatre set up. The set up has gone relatively well, however I'm having trouble controlling the volume correctly. I've tried to disable the TV speakers, however when I change the TV speaker settings to "External Speakers" the remote no longer controls volume, and an error message is displayed on the screen saying to control the volume on the external speakers. If I reactivate the TV speaker, the TV volume is controlled by the remote, however the Playbar does not change volume with the TV - instead, the Playbar volume must be controlled via the Sonos App on my iPhone. Can I reset the Playbar and attempt to set it up correctly? Please help!!
