I am building a covered patio. I want to use the Sonos Five. Can the Five be wall mounted? Is it also recommended to be used in this manner? The overview states it is humanity proof. The unit will be high up on the wall near the ceiling an not exposed to the elements - just humidity and heat. Please advise.
I'm considering upgrade pair of One's to 100's and Sonos should offer this plastic base separately because rest of stand is the same and I would to use them with new speakers. I know that it’s not in their interest but sometimes be OK worth more.
Why is Sonos such a piece of * system now. I have owes Sonos speakers for several years. In the beginning it was an easy simple set-up and the system was reliable! Every time I plugged in my speakers they were recognized and connected instantaneously. Last year I purchased two more SL speakers to go along with my S1 speakers. They worked fine last summer. Now I cannot connect at all to amy of my speakers. The app tells me that it can not find product or I need to unplug the speaker or I need to reset my WiFi router. Hours upon hours spent to reconnect the same speakers I have been using for years? How could this be - what is so difficult about connecting a speaker to WiFi. How many damn times do I need to unplug my router in order to get these stupid things to work?Sonos has become just like every other Technology company. Keep creating more products and keep changing technology in order to earn as much profit as possible! It is disgusting. In the beginning they just had a
Hey everyone,I saw this was partially covered on a previous thread, but since that was a couple of months ago I started a new one.Received my Era 300 about an hour ago today, and the back is not uniform at all, with a much bigger gap on the back plate on the top right hand side. This is very noticeable too, and whilst I appreciate this is not a new issue I am a little surprised it is still happening nearly 2 months after it was first reported.Called support and whilst on the phone to them I also noticed the grill at the top right has a similar gap, which you can push in, only to come back out a few minutes later.Support reassured me the next one should be good, but really, how can they promise this? Do they have a “good” batch and a “bad” batch?Lugging this box all the way to the pick up point tomorrow and hoping for the best.A bit of a fiasco, especially when I will be away soon and likely to take ages swapping the speakers but there you go.Whilst we are at it, any news on the front dr
I have a 17 year old Pro-Ject Debut SE which I hooked up to a pair of Fives plus a Sub last year. I was very happy with the sound but recently I've made some upgrades to the turntable. Main one being a much better cartridge - the Ortofon MM Blue. It sounds so much better and really makes the Fives and Sub shine. So well worth doing if you love your vinyl. It easily sounds on a par with hi-res streaming now.
Hi, appears this is a common one so apologies in advance. The bass has started distorting sometimes on my One, it's not always and not necessarily on high bass music(I mostly listen to Indie/Rock/Alternative so punchy drums and bass guitar) Its been set to 90% max from the day we bought it, to protect it) and always been setup with Trueplay, then bass and treble turned up to 5 & 7 respectively.I’ve done the usual reset and redo true play but it still does it…...is the speaker dead? If there are any Sonos tech people reading, I submitted diagnostics a few minutes after it did it quite bad recently, ref 566694998, if it helps. Thanks in advance, Mark
Hello! I am at the end of my trial period for a pair of Era 300s. In a nut shell I really like them (using Apple Music). BUT I am getting ear fatigue as I think it’s due to the pair competing with each other. And I cannot get the imaging to balance out. What I mean is the only way to experience a center stage for vocals is sitting dead center between the pair, just like old school audiophile days. However, I tend to sit on either end of my living room sofa. I’ve done Trueplay multiple times, as well as place the speakers in different parts of the room. Note, I have high ceilings on half of the living room. And I’ve placed the speakers about 7 feet apart at an angle to the sofa, in order for both speaker to have the same ceiling height (You can see two pictures where I’ve experimented with speaker placement). I’ve spoken with Sonos support several times, and they’ve mainly stated Sonos removed the L/R Balance adjustment on Era 300s because of Spatial Audio. :( They didn’t offer much
Thought I'd play some vinyl this evening on my turntable which is hooked up to a pair of Fives. I was playing with the line in level and found I can actually have it set to the lowest - level 1, and still get decent sound volume through the Fives. Is it better to have it set as low as possible or doesn't it really make a difference to the sound quality? What do others have theirs set to?
my sonos system consists of 2 Roams and a Move all in different rooms of my house. I have a Deco mesh wifi system consisting of my main router and a mesh pod upstairs, they each provide full coverage for my entire home (home size is 3600 sq feet). My sonos system rarely is always functioning at the same time, one, two or all three speakers are usually not on the network. when i turn them all off, turn them all on, reset the router sonos rarely if ever connects all the speakers. the speakers magically just appear and start working again after an hour or two and them disconnect randomly so i have reset them all and redo the router. it’s very frustrating. i ordered a Sonos blast to see if that will help. If it doesn’t i’m giving up on Sonos and switching to something more reliable for my home stereo. Anyone have any suggestions before I bail on Sonos? I think the title says it all, the Epson has a BT facility and I would like to connect to the Play 5 gen 1 via BT, can it be done?I have this set up in my garden room gym, I have ATV HDR10 for running Zwift (cycling app) through the projector and only use the Sonos for playing music via my Iphone to the Sonos play 5. With the play offs looming I would like to watch the match on the projector and hopefully have the audio via the Sonos play 5. I did a search on the projector for BT devices and nothing showed, is there a method for putting the sonos into pairing mode? The Sonos is second hand and a few years old but work perfectly and good enough for what I need. If all else fails I can watch the match via the projector and have the commentary via the radio😁
My Sonos system currently consists of: 1 Ray, 4 Play 1,s, & 1 Roam. I also use Sonos net via a Sonos Boost. All speakers are connected to the network wirelessly. I do not have WiFi 6. I would like to add 2 Era 100,s to use as rears for the Ray. Is this a simple plug-in and play addition to my current setup, as it is? Or do I have to disable the Boost? As I’ve read that the Era’s do not connect to a Boost. Also is my lack of WiFi 6 going to be an issue? I welcome any advice the community may be able to offer, many thanks.
Hi Sonos community,Anyone having issues to install the Sonos official wall mount in a plasterboard wall?I drilled and installed a wall plug but the screws included with the kit won’t stop twisting… The Sonos Era 300 haven’t arrived yet but I tested with a similar weight and not feeling very confident as you can see the wall mount coming off a bit from the wall…Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I have a studio downstairs that I rent out and would like to connect a Sonos One to the guest wifinetwork that I use for the studio. It is on the same router, but has a different name and password. So far I have managed to get out of the Sonos app via app reset. My phone is on the guestnetwork. I add the Sonos box (I do see all Sonos boxes in the house still thought) and all seems to go fine till the last step when I get a message that the system is not able to connect to the wifi.Anyone suggestions?
Hi. I’ve got an offer to buy a Sonos Five (gen 1) pretty cheap. I’ve already got a Beam (gen 2) hooked up to my TV. My question is wether or not a Five (gen 1) will be able to connect to a Beam (gen 2)? I’ve only got music streaming and vinyl in mind as I’m expecting to buy a pair of Sonos Ones as satellites for the Beam eventually.Any advice is appreciated :)
I was just curious, as I am shopping, if the Era 300 is the latest and greatest, it seems weird that it is less expensive than the Five speaker. Is there a place to compare them? Is it just because the focus is on Spatial on the 300 where the Five is used better for straight up stereo?
