I have a sonos one and want to use the light feature, do I just buy a Philips hue bulb and sync it to the sonos? Or do I need something besides that. Never had anything like this before, and I'm a bit of a techno phobe

LIFX bulbs do not require a hub and there is an Alexa LIFX skill that will enable you to control the lights through the Alexa capability of your Sonos One.

Which smart bulbs work without a hub please? Does that mean I can just screw them in and then control them through Alexa in my Sonos One?
Philips Hue require an additional hub. You can buy a starter pack that includes the hub and two bulbs. There are other bulbs that do not require a hub or work with generic hubs like Samsung or Vera, but sometimes their functionality is limited (like no dimmer control, no timers, etc.).
