It sounds like your TV can’t pass through Dolby Digital 5.1 audio from an external device (Xbox) through the TV’s HDMI port and out to the Sonos Arc. My TV is about 8 years old and I have the same problem. So I purchased the HDFury Arcana device and it solved all of my audio problems caused by the limitations of my TV. The Arcana can give you Dolby Atmos audio as long as you have the media devices to support it.

Hi mate Thankyou for your quick reply ! Right so glad u mentioned the fury as I saw this yesterday on YouTube and I’m contemplating it but didn’t wanna buy it until I knew it would work , all I have connected to my tv is the series x , sky tv and my Sonos products , so would u recommend the fury ? Cheers mate

Yes, I would highly recommend the Arcana. Like I mentioned above, my Panasonic Plasma TV is from 2013 and only equipped with HDMI ARC. I have an Apple TV 4K, Roku Ultra, and Panasonic UHD player. WITHOUT the Arcana, the best audio I could get from any of those devices playing through the Arc was Stereo PCM 2.0. WITH the Arcana, I can now get Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby Atmos audio from my Apple TV 4K/Roku Ultra and Dolby TrueHD/Dolby Atmos and multichannel PCM audio from my UHD player.

The Arcana will work with your Xbox and Sky box. If you want to connect them both to the Arcana, you need an HDMI switch. I also recommend getting good quality HDMI cables to connect everything.

Here is a diagram of my setup and links to the HDMI switch and cables I use:

I purchased it directly from HD Fury’s website:

They are based out of Taiwan.
