Sonos One with an Echo

I was told by rep at Best Buy that it would be better to purchase a Sonos 1 to pair with my Echo even though it has an echo in it. I don't want to only use the Alexa in the Sonos 1 as I use the Echo to make phone calls. So if I only want to use the Sonos as a "better" speaker which Sonos is better? Now Alexa is getting confused and doing crazy things as these two sit close together.

There is really no reason to buy both a Sonos One and a Dot for the same room. I would have got the Play:1.
yes that is what it seems would be better but she thought the speaker was much better etc.
with the play 1 will music play on the echo and the play 1 or just the play 1?
Depending on the voice command used, music will play on either of the two, not on both. The general use experience will be better if you keep the two devices at some distance from each other. And a Dot will suffice.
