Setting up Play 5 with a Microphone

I have read a few similar topic on this and everyone say's not to bother because of the 70ms delay but i'm looking to play it in another room from the speaker so I don't have an issue with the delay. It's also only for occasional use 9 times out of 10 they are just be playing music from the controller.

I have purchased a mic:

My problem is that then I plug the 3.5mm jack in and switch the Play 5 to play from in-line I can't hear anything. I did see that I need to convert the mic out to in-line level but i'm unsure how to do this can anyone advise the best converter?

I can't suggest one but microphone pre-amps are common items.

You might try exchanging the mike you bought for one with line-level outputs, it could be cheaper.

That makes total sense I'm very new to sound setups and just finding out how it all works. I have order a pre-amp to work with the current mic.
