Positioning of the Beam

The suggested position for the Beam is in front of the TV but I have used a spare shelf under the TV in my TV stand but I find that I struggle to get it to accept an Alexa command, like "Alexa turn off TV" is this because the beam is in the wrong position or is it because the TV volume is too loud and Alexa can't hear the command? - can I increase the sensitivity of the Alexa microphone?

Hi, spiderrog. In all likelihood, it's a cumulative effect of these two independent factors. Unfortunately, there is no way to manually address the mic sensitivity. I would be happy to pass along this request for you, however. Do let us know if you need anything else.
Takes a bit of getting used to this Alexa. I now find I have to say Alexa and wait for the note and then you can issue the instruction like “turn tv”
