I just setup my new Sonos Playbar and it works great with my TV when I use my comcast cable box. However when i plug in my macbook to my TV via HDMI to stream movies- the audio plays from the laptop speaker and not the playbar.

I have read several articles on the community pages and some have recommended an HDMI audio extractor. I bought the one in the link below and I still get the same problem :(

Check to see what kind of audio signal your laptop is sending out across HDMI. It must be Dolby Digital, or just stereo. It can't be DTS, or Dolby Digital Plus, etc.

There's usually a setting in the app you're using where you would set the type of sound output.
