Have a brand new sonos arc and recently it has been popping and crackling frequently when playing music loud as wel as the base sounding very hallow. Diagnostic is:

I would first simply try trueplay-tuning the speaker to the room - if you have done that already, then try it again with the same, or a different, iOS device (always remove its case/cover) …and perhaps even try the speaker with trueplay switched off to see if the issues go away.
