It is hard to believe that Sonos does not publish or fix the problem there appears to be with their new product The Sonos Beam and connectivity to Samsung TV. So many people have been waiting for this product, and many own Samsung TV's and we cannot use the Beam with the ARC Connection, If there is a fix out there can someone from Sonos please respond. Thank you
"Go to accessory setup" button, in app, does not work when trying to configure Sonos Play:1 -- help??
I’ve been trying to set up my not-new Sonos Play:1 as a new system, as I have a new wifi network, and it seemed the easiest way to get the Sonos working again. I’ve followed instructions to configure it anew, so that it has the flashing green light, and the app on my iPhone has detected the Play:1, but it says I have to go through a wireless configuration process, which shows a single black button (and no other options) at the bottom of the screen -- “Go to accessory setup” -- but this button, when clicked, does nothing except grey out momentarily. It does not click through to anything, and it does not give an error message. Does anyone know how to fix this? Both the app and the phone OS are latest versions as of today (23 Nov 2020).Searching the internet for others with the same problem, I find only two instances. One has no solution, whereas the other says “fixed by connecting to ethernet cable.” What? Who in 2020 has an ethernet cable? I’ll need a different fix than that, if anyone
My harmony hub discovered my new playbase just fine, and I added it to a few activities. However, I am unable to control the volume from the harmony. If I select the particular device (playbase), it doesn't show as having a volume control. I have a play 1, and it does show as having a volume control. It's almost as if it discovered the playbase, but didn't discover that it could control its volume. Any ideas?
I have 5 Connect:Amp's set up on a wall. They are all connected via a dedicated switch and that switch is, in turn, connected to my local network. I find that devices will frequently and arbitrarily drop out of view. They just shut off and come back on in a few minutes. There are times when it drops out of view but continues playing (I'm unable to control it during that time). Sometimes the device just stops playing and then if I remove it from a group and re-add it comes back on. This is very frustrating. It was working well for a few months and then this behavior started up about again about 2 months ago. Will a boost help?
My nephew has received a Sonos 1 for Christmas – and lives in Halls at Uni. His room has both wifi and an Ethernet port – but the ethernet needs logon details to authenticate. That means Sonos can’t connect to the Ethernet. He has an iDevice. He has installed the App and opened up Sonos but is just says “You’re on the XXXX Wireless network but Sonos isn’t.” He has tried to just connect wirelessly but Sonos insists on initially connecting via Ethernet. That’s not an option with the hardware available. Do ‘we’ know the technical reason Sonos can’t just be added to an existing WiFi network? Is the only ‘simple’ solution purchasing some sort of travel router that allows an Ethernet connection from its wifi connection? I assume you basically go through a setup screen on them where you input the wifi details that you wish Sonos could accept? After connecting, can the Sonos then be disconnected from the Ethernet and connected to the wifi as is required? Is seems a shame to have t
Recently purchase a full Sonos system for my boat, works perfect in all three bedrooms and cinema room, but when I don’t have a internet connection at sea. I can’t play Apple Music even though the music has been downloaded to the iPads that I’m using. Sound work fine at all times from the TV to the Sonos. Purchased a Apple TV box being told it was airplay compatible but the sound only comes out of the play bar. The rear speakers and sub is very faint, tried using the sonoair app but this doesn’t seem to work either without a active internet connection, Does anyone know of a workaround. I do have Wi-fi on board.
Hey, I’m wondering if someone can tell if this is possible... I would like to buy a Sonos Move and pair it with my current Sonos One so that when the Move is docked, they are in a stereo grouping. As soon as the Move is undocked, I would like both speakers to automatically switch to mono (but still playing same music). Once redocked, both speakers should resume their stereo pairing. Is this possible? Thanks
Is there a way to create groups prior to using them? And then save them? I have 8 play:1s scattered through the house. In an ideal world I would have a series of groups (kids room, common areas, downstairs, upstairs, everything, etc.) and I would enable/continue using a group when i started playing. Is this possible? Or do I have to recreate groups each time? To be clear, what I would like is something like this: Kids Group - contains Kid 1 and Kid 2 speakers Common Area Group - contains Living Room, Dining Room, and Office speakers Upstairs Group - contains Master bedroom and speakers in the Common Area Group All Group - contains all the speakers And then when I started playing music in the Common Area and wanted to have the music play in all the upstairs, I would not move the Master Bedroom into the Common Area Group, rather I would just select the Common Area Group and have the Master Bedroom automatically join t
I have UK FTTP fibre - it is good. I have wired three GW mesh pods via an unmanaged switch to the router as supplied by British Telecom. I have disabled the wifi on the BT router. My Sonos Playbar is wired to the first (primary) GW pod. It works fine as long as I am using that pod - as soon as I leave that room and start using another pod on the mesh, Sonos app tells me I am on a different network. Not a big problem as I mainly use the Sonos while in the same room as the primary GW pod, but sometimes I would like to fire up the Sonos from out side or in a different room. What is going on ? Should I wire the Sonos to a downstream pod from the primary ? Yours in confusion...
I have a fairly large sonos system, mainly set up a stereo pairs, 2xPlay 3, 2x Ones, 6x play 1’s and a boost connected directly to my router. The house is fairly large with wired ethernet to the extremties where wifi struggles. These extremities have Sky Q with one main box, 2 minis, and 3 Sky q boosters. The ski minis are all hard wired, as are all the sky boosters apart from one. The issue I am am having is that at one end of the the house, even when I plug a Play 1 directly into the network, the Sonos App will not recognise it at all and play to it. It will sometimes let me turn off the light not he speaker but thats all. It is not recognised at all via any wifi device, or even when my laptops of computers are accessing the network via wired or wireless connection. The boost happily talks to 4 rooms, but not the remaining 2 play 1’s unless they are right next to it. If I wire them directly into the network switch, they are recognised, but if they are wired up to the further points
Hi all, Long time user, occasional poster. I'm toying with the idea of installing some Sonos speakers in the bar/workshop area at the bottom of my garden (roughly 15m from my house, and it seems heavily resistant to any wireless signals).I currently have a relatively large Sonos set-up IN the house running on Sonosnet with a boost plugged into my router. I have tried just putting a speaker in the bar and hoping for the best, but alas, it is a no go. My question is....if I were to run an ethernet cable from my router in the house to a network switch in the bar, then subsequently hardwire those speakers, would it work?? I get there's STP implications so the switch would need to support that, but beyond that is what I suggest feasible? I've done some searching on here, but nothing seems to answer my question specifically. Thanks in advance, all!!
I recently added the Asus Zenwifi XT8 to create a better network throughout my home and its brilliant except with my Sonos products. I am unable to be fully wireless, I have to have at least one player connected via ethernet for all my Sonos products to work which is not ideal. Any ideas? Everything else works perfectly.
Hello I have just completely replaced my old RBK53 Orbi network with a new ASUS Zenwifi AX Mesh network. My existing Sonos platform has struggled with the change and I am now a little confused as to exactly how I had it all set up before. Looking at my ASUS portal, i can see a mixture of wired and wireless devices (which is fair). For Sonos I haveLounge - Arc / Sub / 2 x Play1 SurroundPlayroom - PlaybarOffice - BeamDining Room - 2 x One SLGym - Sonos Move Previously, before things seems to have got confused, I had my Arc connected to my router through ethernet, then everything else was wireless and I “think” all connected via SonosNet Channel 1. In this set up, all of my devices had IP addresses allocated from the router, however, they all showed as wired, i assumed because they were all routing via the Arc over SonosNet, and that device was Wired. Now, They all seem to show up as a mixture of wired and wireless on the router portal, and my play 1 surround speakers keep dropping and r
Hello all, I have a Sonos Beam in my open plan kitchen diner along with Cambridge audio ceiling speakers in the kitchen area. My Sonos connect amp is in the downstairs cupboard. I have a cat 6 eithernet cable going from the Sonos Beam to the connect amp in the downstairs cupboard. There is only one eithernet port in the beam, can this be used to pair up with the connect amp? My connect amp has two eithernet ports, I was planning on connecting the cat 6 cable from the beam into one of them? The other I was going to connect directly to my router? I’m not looking for surround sound quality. I would like to use the ceiling speakers whilst the tv is on and also when the tv is off to listen to music. Will this be ok? I assume the music will play through the Sonos Beam when the tv is off too? Any help please? :)
Hello,At home I have installed a Mesh WiFi using 4x TP-LINK Deco M9 stations: 2 at the first floor (incl. the base station), 1 at the second floor and 1 at the third floor. If I run Internet speedtests on various mobile devices in various places of my home I reach approx. 400 Mbps download / 40 Mbps upload / 18 ms ping time. The WiFi provides 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. All devices that are connected to the WiFi (old iPhones, new iPhones, old iPads, new iPads, old Android phones, new Android phones, Apple TV, Chromecast, Smart TV, IoT devices, laptops, Chromebook, etc. etc.) all connect ok and have a good, fast and stable signal. Except my Sonos speakers. I have a Play:3 and Play:1 at the first floor, Play:1 at the third floor and a One at the fourth floor. I use the new Sonos app on iOS. All firmware of Sonos and Deco devices is up-to-date.Even if placed within 1 meter of the Deco M9 stations, the Play:3 and Play:1 on the first floor are sometimes sluggish and sometimes give connection er
Hi all, I’m currently setting up my Sonos system and would appreciate your views on the best streaming apps to use. My understanding is that if you want 24-bit streaming, the options are Amazon Music Unlimited Ultra HD and Qobuz. Other services like tidal offer lossless 16-bit (CD quality). Any suggestions as to what’s the best route, including whether I’ll even be able to tell the difference between 24-bit/16-bit lossless/standard streaming? Many thanks, Justin
Hello there, I just bought a new Sonos arc connected to my lg oled55e8pla (Dolby Atmos supported) via arc hdmi (no eARC HDMI available) using the hdmi cable provided with Sonos arc.I setted the audio to arc hdmi and setted the quality to auto (not pcm) but in the Sonos app I can see always Dolby digital plus 5.1 and not Dolby Atmos. I'm trying with Disney+ avenger endgame (that streams in Dolby Atmos). What am I doing wrong?
Hey guys, I have had Sonos for a month now and really love it. I have a BU250 bundle and an S5 for my kitchen. The CR200 control is superb, I am also using the iphone app and the same app on my partners ipod touch. I have seen the old CR100 control for a low price online and wondered if anyone has any advice on these. I wouldnt mind adding one as they are always online with the mesh network (the iphone isnt) and like the idea of quick volume adjusment etc. Would this be worth it or should I save up for another CR200? Thanks in advance.
