I'm just getting started posting about this. The Sonos quality is getting worse. My VERY EXPENSIVE Play 5 is not functioning well as a line in device. Why would I have to debug it daily? Why would I even have to select "Line In" EVERY TIME I want to use the thing. This is stupid. I'm going to return this thing if it keeps doing this. It doesn't matter to me that I've had it more than 30 days (only about 45 days), I will make noise about this.
Hi I have just received my Denon AVR X1300W and I wanted to connect my ZP90 to it. I have the following connected: Satellite to CBL/SAT HDMI Blue-ray to DVD/Blu-ray HDMI Apple TV to Media Player HDMI Sonos ZP90 to RCA Media Player I have found this https://en.community.sonos.com/setting-up-sonos-228990/connect-sonos-zoneplayer-zp90-to-denon-avr-6732412 but it does not tell me how to get the sound from my Sonos ZP90 out of the AVR. If I select Media Player from on the remote I get the sound from my Apple TV. Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thank you
I know it's probably been said before but has anyone got any work arounds to access new music on Sonos? I thought i'd add a folder to my music library called "New Music" then add shortcuts to new albums but Sonos doesn't seem to show this folder when going to Music > Folders > Network Drive > .......... Any idea why?
Hi, I've had Sonos for two years, and only recently did I start having a lot of problems with it. Spotify works fine, as does the radio app, but every time I try to play something from my library, I get a 1002 error, or an error saying my computer is not responding. I adjusted the firewall settings as per Sonos, and it still doesn't work. I removed my library from the controller, didn't work, and I uninstalled and re-installed Sonos and still nothing. Can you help? Diagnostic # 6674744. Thank you.
Hi - I have a six zone system in my apartment. All my music files are stored on a Windows 10 PC with the Windows controller application. However, before I got that PC set up with the controller, I used my iPhone to play music that I had stored on it on the system. Now, any time I use another iOS device or laptop to run my system, it complains that my phone is not available and it won't play the files. The way I want it to work is that all my laptops and iPhones, and iPads should be able to "control" the system using the Windows PC's library, playlists, etc as the default configuration. How can I enable this setup and get all the devices to "forget" my iPhone and link to the PC? Any advice would be great. Thanks Dave
Hello, I am attempting to connect a new matte Sub to an existing Boost network but after I press the flashing light the app tells me that I must first temporarily connect the Sub to an ethernet connection in order to complete the set-up. The booklet instructions don't mention the ethernet set-up, just the regular set-up. Can anyone help? Thanks, Dan
Hi Community, I have had my PlayBar quite some time, and is happy about it. It is placed over the tv in the far corner of the living room. I just added ONE Play:1 today, which is placed in the other end of the same room. Now; how do I synchronize these two devices?? Thanks in advance.
After a power down, my SUB won't reconnect. I removed it from my system using the iOS-app, but I am not able to reconnect it - the system doesn't detect the SUB. When I power up the SUB, the LED goes instantly on solid white light, and pressing the button doesn't make any changes. The SUB is place 2 meters away from a Playbar that is LAN connected, and I have even tried to wire the SUB to the LAN..... no change ! I have posted a Support ticket to SONOS support, but hasn't got any feed back after 3 days. Any ideas what to do ?
White flashing lights. I have had the set up for years and this is the first time all 3 are flashing white and Sonos iPhone app is asking me to set it up. I do not want to lose all my settings, is there some kind of outage? There is no tech support over the weekend via the phone any more :-( Can someone assist me without losing all my preprogrammed stations and favorites?
Just set up SONOS:1 at my office. I can't use the office Wi-Fi network so have used a hardline ethernet. The speaker seems all set up in the Controller, and I have added music services which I can see and surf through. But when I go to play anything it says "Unable to add song to queue". Because I only have one ethernet plug, I plugged the Sonos into that. My Mac (which I am running the controller from) is on the office Wi-Fi. Is that causing the issue or something else. Right now the only music I can play is from the 2 albums which are in my Music folder on my Mac (so the speaker can actually play music, but not from any streaming services). I have shut/reopened a few times, no fix there. Thanks
So it seems (now that I've finally got my MP3 drive recognised and the indexing done) that I have a new error... that I have 'too much stuff' (I'm paraphrasing the error that comes up in the Set Up Music Library screen). From another forum I found this wonderful nugget: You can see the Network Matrix by using a web browser to go to http://###.###.###.###:1400/support/review (replace the #'s with the IP from one of your ZonePlayers. You can fnd the IP on your handheld Controller's Settings-->About My Sonos System screen, or Help-->About... on the Desktop software). And within that I found this: Title MAX 65000 COUNT 35827 Store Size 3604480 Store Used 3604390 Entries Size 262144 Entries Used 75493 Conflicts 21988 Okay, so I haven't broken the 65k limit for the number of tracks I can store (I'd have been amazed to be honest), but I do seem to have hit the headroom for 'Store Size' and I've got 21,988 conflicts, which doesn't sound good either. What d
Hi, I have installed a Sonos system in a house that doesn't currently have an internet connection. The system is currently running v1.2 and I would like to upgrade to v2. Is it possible to download the update and run it locally somehow. I can see I can download the PC version of the software but I want to upgrade the controllers and players as well. Is this possible please? Thanks Trev
Hey, I have a question and I already tried a lot, but I dont find a solution, so maybe one of you could help me. I am generally using a Playbar with two sonos 3 and a sub as surround System. I connceted the playbar through the optical Output of a maya44 usb with my Lap top when I want to hear something directly from the Computer. That works well. I now bought a pioneer ddj-sx to try some dj stuff. When I conncet the this to the Maya 44 ( with a cinch cable) and I extend trough the optical Output to the playbar I can t hear anything, not in normal or in TV Modus. when I put instead of the playbar just headphones it works. There is an Output Signal from the Maya, so I don t know why the playbar doesn t play it. When I am just using the playbar (and the sonos 3 and the Sub) for the lap top as sourround system it works well trouth the Maya. I also tried to conncet the Maya just too electricity and skiped the usb conncetion to the lap top, but this doesn t work. You have any sugges
I am considering adding a a Roku unit to my system, likely an Ultra when it's released. The Netflix app within thew Sony Bravia smart TV has known issues and is unreliable, so I'm looking for an alternative. I currently have all components, an older WD Live, Satellite connected via hdmi to the Sony TV and the TV connected via optical to the playbar. I'll be using the Plex app with in the Roku to stream content over my home network and the Netfix app. Any issues I should know about with the Roku and the playbar? Thanks
Hi, I have a play bar and 2 play ones in my dinning room connected to the TV in this room. I want to set up speakers in my lounge to a smart TV, do I need another play bar or can I connect to the smart TV, thinking of getting 2 play 3's in the lounge. Thanks in advance and look forward to your thoughts, Zac
I've borrowed 2 play 1 speakers from my friend. I wanted to add them to my existing Play 1 speaker already set up. I've tried adding the same speakers to my wifi and it says it has connected. When I play music it doesn't come out of the borrowed ones. What should I do?
I'm new to Sonos and so far I'm LOVING IT! :) My Sub is on the truck for delivery today and Saturday morning is going to be a huge "Sonos-thon" / Tear the place up kind of day... but I digress. Couple of questions, looking for any advice/opinions you all might have. Here's the scenario: I have 2 A1s in the bedroom. 1 Sub and a Playbar in the living room. I'd like to move the two A1s to the living room for music listening. and group the sub with them. I'd also like to group the Playbar and the sub for movies/TV watching. Here's my question. Is there an easier way to do this then just "Group sub and bar - watch TV" then "Group sub and A1s - listen to music" with changing them every time? Or can I create like "Room 1 = sub and bar" -- "Room 2 = Sub and A1s" and then just pick the room/setup I want. or am I overthinking this whole thing? And what's everyone's thoughts on listening to music from "rear" speakers. (Should I decide to go full 5.1 and put the A
Hi everyone. I've just got a new android phone and noticed my music library is not an available option on the main screen and it also doesn't show up when i search for a track. This is pretty weird as it shows up on all other controllers (a nexus 7, iPad, iPhone, Sonos control), seems to play the library tracks i have stored in my playlists and also my share shows up correctly under advanced settings. I'm probably doing something wrong...Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Rob
I have been doing some electrical work around the house that has required me to turn off breakers to various circuits multiple times. Some of these circuits have Sonos players on them. Usually the units reboot when the power returns and all is good - they are good to go in the controllers. Today though I had the power to my only Play:1 off and when I restored power the controller told me I needed to set it up again. I did not have to press the buttons on the Play:1 to join the network but the controller wanted me to assign it to a room and run Trueplay again. Is this normal behavior when restoring power to a Play:1? Are they considered more portable and the system assumes with power off you moved it? I would hope not.
Hi everyone, I know similar questions have been asked many times and i have read many posts that come close to what i am after but due to me being very much a novice i would like some feedback on what i have planned. Feel free to correct any errors that you see. So here goes........ Firstly i would like to set up 2 zones using a connect Amp. These 2 zones will be a living area and outside entertainment area. My end goal is to be able to have both zones playing the same music at the same time. However i would also like to switch off the outside speakers when not needed and also to adjust the volume separately when i do have both zones playing. Is this possible?? My plan is this... Hard wire a pair of Jbl SP8CII in the living area but running through a good quality wall mounted volume control after it has been put through a speaker selector box. Does that make sense? The same would then go for the outdoor speakers. The speaker wire i plan to use is 14 gauge. Thanks in advance for
