I have a number of speakers across my home wireless network with the Sonos Boost (previously used Bridge) connected by wired ethernet to the router. I am about to change the configuration which means that I could connect the sound bar by wired ethernet to the router instead, which if I have understood correctly would create a dedicated network for all the speakers to work across. I have several questions - Is this understanding correct? If I changed to this configuration is there anything I need to do system wise to (re) connect speakers or would it just work automatically in the background? Is this the right thing to do given that I have the Boost connected anyway, and the sound bar would just then become an additional wireless speaker?Advice appreciated.
I am setting up my new Move, it is the only Sonos device I have . My music collection is in a WD MyCloud Mirror, I am following the instructions to set up a library, using the IP address//path but the next option at the top of the page is and remains greyed out. I assume the MyCloud mirror is compatible as it is seeing the Move as a compatible device when I look in its manager.
I’ve had 2 sets of Play 1’s for years in my kitchen and master bedroom on an original Google mesh Wifi system with no problem. Recently I did a major renovation to another property and moved here last year. I rewired the whole house with brand new RG-6 cable, even out to the street. The Google mesh Wifi was working perfectly until recently when the nodes stopped communicating with the master unit. I tried the new Nest mesh system with the same result. In both instances my Play 1’s could not be found. I spend over 2 hours with Sonos on the phone and they couldn’t resolve the issue. I then tried an Asus ZenWifi AX6600 and nothing changed. Even Asus could not fix the problem with a different set of settings. Strangely, my Arc and Gen 2 sub appear in the app with no issues. All routers have been retuned to amazon and I’m now going to try a dual band TP-link AX3000. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
I looked on the system tab of my account and I do not see anywhere where if it is gen 1 or 2. It does say upgrade eligible save 15%. Does that mean it’s generation one? I bought another connect to add to this, but I’m thinking it might be Gen 2 because I cannot set it up. I tried multiple things installing the software uninstalling and it would not find my Sonos network. Once I took it off the original one worked fine. Thanks for any help and advice! BLUETOOTH ISSUE NOW 2 YEARS OLD AND RESOLVED IS BACKI’m trying to do a rest on a couple of Play 1’s, and the Sonos 2 app on my iPhone is prompting me to turn on Bluetooth access in the settings for the app itself. When you open the settings and go to Sonos 2, there is no on/off switch for Bluetooth whatsoever, just permission to access local network. Weird right? Not exactly the same as the old post I screenshotted but darn close. What do I do? Thanks
Hallo, I have a beam (2.0) en two play:1's configured with my LG tv as a home Home Theatre dolby configuration. Works perfectly for the place in the livingroom where i watch TV: the bench.Otherwise, when playing music from Spotify, i'm normaly not sitting on the bench in front of the beam, so i would like to only use both the play:1's for playing music and have the beam silenced. The beam is not in the middle of the room and destroy’s the stereo sound from both the play:1's. Sound quality for music was way way better before adding the beam. Can the Beam be silenced for music? A seperate configuration for Home Theatre and a second one for listening Music sounds logical right?
Hi there, I need help configuring my Sonos setup. Everything went fine with the first device (a Sonos One). I downloaded the app for iOS, created an account, I allowed the Sonos app to connect to devices in my local network. I then plugged the Sonos One and followed the steps to connect it. I was prompted to introduce a password to connect the Sonos One to my Wifi network. Over and done. Sonos One working.I have then plugged all the other Sonos devices, and tried to add them using the app. The app is able to localize the Arc, the other sonos One and the Amp. But when I try to connect them, I get an error message saying that the app cannot find any Sonos devices in the same network as my phone. I cannot solve this. The first Sonos One is connected to the same WiFi network as my Phone, that much I am certain.I have already tried to go to the App>System>Networks but all I get is a “In Use” sign in bold, but no network to choose from (the rest of the page is blank). How can I connect m
I now have two sets of outdoor speakers and a Sonos amp but I’m not sure where to put the amp. Obviously it would be easier to hook it to the speakers if it was outside, but I’m not sure it can withstand the elements. Where do you recommend I put the amp? Where do others put it?? Thanks for your help!
hi,just want to share my finding in case anyone meet the same issue. My setup:i have a PC and sonos on the same network, firewall disabled from both PC and router.I also added sonos app to allowed app and what not on my pc.I’m able to access my shared music folder from my phone on the same network. background:I’m a senior java developer :)i tried to add 2 network folder as music folders, got a bit inpatient and try to add both folder at the same time without giving time for the sonos desktop app to index finish the first. discovery:i found that i hit an error and wasnt able to add both folder at all.i tried reinstall app but still wont work. solution:i found that if i try to add another folder, i was able to.Hence, i begin to suspect that the folder path was saved somewhere and wasnt deleted and resulted in duplicate of path. I went ahead to change my music folder name from music to music1 and suddenly it works. i did the same to my other music folder and it works perfectly.in case you
Hello Sonos friends, I am building a new home and considering using sonos products in various rooms. My question: will the sonos arc be able to communicate with the other zones. For example, if I want same music/sound playing in every zone. Will the arc play as well? I am very excited to be joining the sonos family! Thank you for your assistance.
Objective of this all: set back up a tv surround system (soundbar and 2 play3s) that worked very well before the app split in S1 and S2.After factory resetting all speakers, I setup the system in S2, one speaker at the time. I managed to get the bar and one play3 setup. I fail to complete the setup of the last speaker. Many factory resets later, the app continues to tell me that the speaker is connected, but that it is not yet registered. Going through the ‘register speaker’ process, always leads to “there was a a problem setting up your Play3. Customer Care team is ready to help’.I unplugged the speaker as suggested in the help section. Unfortunately, to no avail.Anyone having an idea how to fix this? Thanks
New Sonos beam speaker is connected and working with t.v. the app will always fail after setting up speaker. Speaker continues to work through app failures. I can reset everything from app to internet and beam. Once speaker installs app fails and can't find system and sometimes no system found on this account. Everything on same network and 2ghz I would just like to have full access to settings. Any ideas?
I was planning to use a beam as front speakers for my new tv. Unfortunately the setup I have has the tv flush on the wall and the beam will stick out and won’t look good. I don’t need need amazing sound for this particular tv setup. And the built in speakers for the tv aren’t terrible. I am installing rear built in wall speakers with the Sonos amp (will use more for playing music). Can I use the amp/wall speakers as rear sound while using the built in tv speakers as the front sound? Thanks for any input. I can’t find anything when I search for info on this particular setup.
Hi, I have 3 sets of play 3’s and 1 set of play ones and enjoy using the app to play music through my house. If I want to incorporate some outdoor speakers (buying the sonos amp to wire in these speakers) can I then play music through my play 3s and play 1s and also incorporating in the outdoor speakers with the amp? Thanks
