No home wifi due to remoteness. Have access to 300gb of data via phone. Sonos app needs wifi vs a hotspot. Will app be upgraded to support hotspot?

You can already use Sonos with a hotspot. But the controller app has to run on a different device to that which is providing the hotspot.

So you need two devices: one to provide the hotspot, and one -- attached to the hotspot WiFi -- to control the Sonos players.

This isn't a controller limitation. It's a function of the way phone hotspots work.
