Does Sonos Move support A2DP bluetooth?

I just bought a new Move to go with my Epson 2150 projector for outdoor cinema and sports. When trying to output the audio from the projector to my Move, the projector can see the move in available Bluetooth devices, but when I try to connect I keep getting the error "failed to connect to the Bluetooth device". 

My JBL Flip is able to connect to this projector.

And my phone is able to connect to the Move.

So both devices clearly work with bluetooth, but they just don't seem to be able to work together.

Epson requires A2DP bluetooth spec (I believe a copyright protection element for video entertainment?), but I can't find anything in Sonos support that explicitly says that Sonos supports it.

Help, my outdoor big screen football games need better (but portable) sound!

Sonos Move is compatible with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for setup and Bluetooth BT 4.2 supports AAC and SBC. 

We can wait for suggestions and feedback from our Sonos community members, they might provide their own opinion about this.

Thanks Rowena. I got the following additional information from Epson (below). Does the Sonos Move support that?

 

Note: To protect digital copyrighted content sent to the projector, your Epson projector is HDCP-compliant (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) and can only pair with Bluetooth audio devices that support SCMS-T (Serial Copy Management System-Transfer) protection. Check with the manufacturer of your Bluetooth audio device for SCMS-T compatibility.

Hi @IDK, thank you for your reply.

To help you with your inquiry, Sonos Move was designed to play audio from mobile devices and Sonos does not support protected files being played directly from the controller to Sonos in this situation, the controller is playing directly to the Epson and the Epson generates audio to Sonos move. If Epson supports protected files move will play music if Epson does not support protected file move will not play.

From the other community threads you referred to, it appears as if it does not. That would be a real shame given the surge in outdoor home Cinema projection caused by the pandemic. The Move should be the perfect speaker for that use case otherwise.
