Hi!

Does the following qualify / make sense as a 5.1 setup? And which will allow me to use Airplay 2?

1. Sub + Play 5 + 2 x Play:1?
2. Sub + Play 5 + 3 x Play:1?
3. Sub + Beam + 2 x Play:1?
4. Sub + Beam + 3 x Play:1?
5. Sub + Play 5 + 2 x One?
6. Sub + Play 5 + 3 x One?
7. Sub + Beam + 2 x One?
8. Sub + Beam + 3 x One?

My goal is to have killer sound for music as well as 5.1 for home cinema (Apple TV).

Thanks!!

Hi,

Options 3 & 7 only will give you 5.1 in a Sonos setup.

You don’t have the option of a ‘centre’ as it’s handled by either Playbar, Playbase or Beam. Which are also your only supported theatre setup.

Personally I have Play1’s as the surround pair as the Beam already has Alexa if that interests you and they are slightly cheaper.
