After moving home I have tried connecting my play 3 to my system.

i have tried via Wi-fi and connecting via Cat 5 to the router.

i go through the whole process- correct lights flashing at the right time etc, but at the last stage where the connection is establish, the setup fails.

i tries a factory reset on the speaker, but still can’t do it.

Sonos support is available 24x7, see the contact page, so maybe they could help. Between the reset and Ethernet I'd have thought it would work.

Only thing I can think of, is the Play 3 getting an IP address from your router?

this was a bizarre thing.

I gave up for 24 hours, plugged it in again, (in a different room, by coincidence) and it connected OK (wirelessly)

I then put it back in the original room, plugged it in, and set it up as a part of a surround speaker setup, and it works.

I almost consigned it to the bin

phew
