Bought a house with sonos: how do I take ownership/register?

There's an extensive Sonos system in my new house, but it's still registered to the old owners. I can't contact them. How can i transfer the system to my account?

Have you tried doing a factory reset? If that does not work it may be necessary to contact Sonos support for advice.
Factory reset the units and then set them up under your account.

See this link for instructions on factory resetting:

Setting up:
The system doesn't have to be reset, unless there's a desire to purge the configuration. Just use Settings/Sonos Account to move it to a different account.
I figured if the system was left as is, any services the former owners signed up for should be purged.
Service accounts can be removed. If it's an extensive system it's rather a pain to go around hard resetting each unit, re-adding, then re-bonding pairs, SUBs and home theatre sets, and potentially Trueplay re-tuning.
Thanks all. After extensive fun and games, it turns out---I have a bridge and there is (separately) a hardwired home theater system. The speakers in the house (behind attractive grilles) turn out not to be sonos. Whatever connection was there (I'm guessing a Connect) is missing. Resetting the bridge (thanks @jgatie) got me that far at least.
