ROAM Compatible with 1st Generation Sonos

If you mean can Roam join an S1 system then the answer’s no. Roam requires S2.

Move Disappearing Again

In my living room I have an Arc and Sub. The ARC is wired to the router. In my kitchen I have a Move. When I first set it up, I could connect the Move to the app no problem, however, after a while it disappears. If I shut off the Move, it will appear on the App as offline. If I turn it on again, it will appear and work fine. Its a bit of a pain to have to recycle the power everytime I use it. A couple of updates ago, it seemed like it was finally fixed and the move stayed connected.I did an update yesterday and now its broken again and I have to restart everytime I want to use it.Its docked when this is happening

Move connection - new finding

Like a lot of other people I am deeply frustrated with connectivity of the Sonos Move connected through my mesh wifi network. While I previously haven’t been able to find any consistency in when the move sent offline, disappear from the app or was visible but without any contact, I just now found a reproduceable behavior. If I turned Off my wifi on the phone, closed the app and stood near the router of my mesh system (making sure I would Connect to that and not the satelite) and then turned on my wifi and opened the app all speakers of my system appears incl the move and could be controlled. If I then repeated the above but stood near a sattelite the Move speaker isn’t visible. But all other speakers are and working as expected.  the “funny” thing is that in the last scenario that isn’t working the move and my phone is connected to the same sattelite. This problem is ONLY with my move. All other works as expected.  my mesh system is Netgear Nighthawk wifi 6 mesh system with router and

Sonos One will not play one particular album

Hi! I have a Sonos One (Gen 2) that is refusing to play the songs from a particular album that I recently uploaded into my Apple Music Library (so it is playing from cloud). All other Sonos devices (1 x Playbar, 5 x SLs, A Play:5 Gen 2, a Move and a Port) play the songs fine. The One was originally in a Stereo pair with an SL but when I remove the stereo pair, the SL plays the songs fine. It is just this One (non-SL)! I keep getting the encoding error message, when trying to play these songs on the One: I have factory reset, but to no avail? Any suggestions?

Sonos Move not connecting to Boost

Does anyone know if sonos plan to update the move so it can connect to the boost.Seems absurd the the most portable device can not connect to the unique sonos wifi network while all other devices can.I specifically purchased the boost to fix the audio interuptions i was having with the move.Silly me, customer support have informed me that the move is an independent device.Strange that its not clearly marked on the box and that sonos advertise seamless connectivity and integration

New WiFi hub

Hi have a new WiFi hub and have followed the instructions on the sonos help page to set up via move or through wired into the hub directly and neither has worked. Sonos Move fails at the point it says it’s opened its own WiFi and I need to click on this but nothing is showing up as an option on my WiFi list and then when you try the alternate option to set up via cable into the hub it isn’t finding the device I have plugged in. Any ideas to how to get me back up and running? thanks

Unable to group My Devices

HiI have used Sonos for years and have always been able to set up groups etc from my 9 speakers that I have - I have a picture of Sonos Ones, Moves, Play Ones & Play 3s plus a player and sub This morning I am unable to connect any into groups with the error message coming up saying “Unable to Connect to that Device”This is happening via my IOS App on my iPhone 12 - both of which are up to date i.e. no updates required and is also the same via the App on my MacBook I have rebooted the devices, rebooted the speakers, deleted the apps and reinstalled them & finally rebooted the wifi connection Any ideas anyone as I have been unable to find anything on the help pages here ?

Unifi Sonos Unifi loosing speakers

Hi,I have a set of Sonos speakers (S3, S1, SOne and SMove). What I see regularly is that the other speakers lose the IP address/connection and can’t return. The strange thing is that the Sonos Move does not seem to have this problem at all. And the problems started to occur when the Sonos Move entered the system.I see the same thing happening with my parents that have a more or less the same setup.Sonos:1x Sonos 11x Sonos One1x Sonos 31x Sonos MoveWifi:3x UAP-nanoHD - 5.43.19.124931x US-8-60W - 5.43.18.124871x USG-3P - 4.4.52.5363511I'm reaching out in this forum and not in Unifi's support channel since the Sonos devices are the only ones that have this behaviour.

Sonos Move and Netgear Nighthawk Mesh

Hardware:1 x Sonos Move, 2 x Sonos Play:1, 1 x IKEA SYMFONSIKNetgear Nighthawk Mesh, with 1 x MR60 (router) and 2 x MS60 (satellites) Interaction between a controlling device (iOS device, e.g.) and the Sonos Move:If a controller and Sonos Move are attached to the same MS60 (mesh satellite), the Sonos app on the controller CANNOT see the Sonos Move. If a controller and Sonos Move are NOT attached to the same MS60 (mesh satellite), the Sonos app on the controller CAN see the Sonos Move.The other Sonos devices are always visible to a controller, regardless of mesh device association.  This is consistently reproducible, and persists beyond repeated full resets of the Sonos Move.  HELP!

Move Bluetooth with no private WiFi/setup

Hello,I have a factory reset Move (flashing green) and am unable to set it up due to not having a private network (the wifi I use is a public network with both a username and password required to log in). Since I won’t be able to use it normally due to an inability to set it up, just Bluetooth functionality would be great. Unfortunately, the back switch button for Bluetooth does nothing – presumably because it is not setup. Is there a way to bypass straight to Bluetooth functionality without the move itself being setup? And if not, is there anything at all I can do with my Move, or is it just a brick until I can get to a private network? Thank you so much,AJ

Sonos Move battery life - Help!

Good evening, I’ve had my Move for about 4 months now and usually have it sat on its base. However, whenever I take it off to use it elsewhere in the house, the battery dies really quickly?  For example, today I took it off the base (it hasn’t moved from there in a few days so should be fully charged) and into the room I work out in for about 45 minutes (of music play time). I then turned the music off and went about my evening before grabbing it 2 hours later to take back upstairs, by which point it was totally dead. This has happened on a few occasions and I’ve never actually attempted to have it running on battery for longer than that.  Surely this isn’t normal? Can I expect that sort of performance or is it likely my unit has a bad battery? Any help appreciated before I contact Sonos!  Joe

Sonos Move not visible on App.

My Sonos Move will not reconnect to the rest of my system after we had a power outage and lost Wifi for a period. Wifi router has been rebooted and I have followed all the steps on the app. Note that I am using the S1 app as 2 of my 5 devices are not compatible with S2. I have submitted diagnostics, number: 725298348

Sonos Move Connection Issues with Mesh Networks

Are there any known issues with Move and WiFi mesh networks, in my case Plume Networks? I have been having issues connecting my Apple devices using AirPlay 2 to my Sonos Move, but only when I move it.  I can connect without any issues when the Move is at it’s base.  Ie it is connected to its typical WiFi pod, and that WiFi pod happens to be Ethernet connected to my router.  However, when I move the Move into another room I can always see the Move listed on my Apple devices as a speaker that I can AirPlay to, but it typically, but not always, fails to connect.  Also, sometimes, when it is playing music away from its base, after using it for a while it disconnects and I’m unable to connect it again. As a note I have tried multiple devices, iPhones (XS and 11) an an iPad, all on the latest O/S.   Also, I am NOT using SonosNet, ie everything is connected to the same WiFi network, none of the Sonos devices are connected to Ethernet. Wifi Extender + Boost + Move

I recently added a Boost to my system, as the core wifi network uses a set of extenders and I kept getting the ‘wifi extender’ error message. However, because the system includes a Move - which apparently cannot connect to the Boost - the message won't go away (unless I power off the Move and exclude it from the system). Any suggestions? It’s super annoying that the system won’t function together properly.

Turntable to Port to system, Move(s) not responding?

Just like the title says, diagnostic number is 113072795just wondering if it’s bandwidth or what not. Audio delay is max on the port and I’m keeping the signal uncompressed (otherwise what’s the point of playing vinyl).the two fives, two ones, and port are working how they should and usually the basement playbar with ikea lamps work fine. Just wondering why the moves can’t be linked to sonosnet? And maybe switch to the house network when outta range of sonosnet? Dunno the fine details about how the move functions just that these two speakers are the only real loose ends on my perfect full cabin sound (in my ears that is). thanks all! G

Deco M5 with Sonos Move

Hi,I have a Deco M5 operating in "Router" (with no other wifi access point or router as it is directly connected to the fibre ONT). I have one sonos hardwired to a deco point and all but one of my sonos devices is on WM:0 Sonosnet. The one device that is not, is the Sonos Move ( which cannot connect to Sonosnet ) seems to be having connectivity issues with wifi as it sometimes disappears from the sonos app? Any idea what this could be and how can I troubleshoot? Mark

Sonos Move & S1 controller connection issues

I have major S1 controller “Not connected”, “Your Sonos product was not found” issues.I have an existing S1 system with 2 Play 5’s (Gen1), 3 Play1’s, Beam and Boost. I was given a Move for Christmas and have spent 2 days trying to connect it to the S1 controller. I have tried every suggestion on the forums (latest software, device, handset and router reboots and resets, various IOS and Android controllers tried, moving nearer the router etc) but always end up with the “Not connected error”.The Move connects quite happily to the S2 controller.I then decided to see if the sound of a couple of Play 1’s in the room the Play 5’s are would be OK (they’re not as it’s quite a large room). Unfortunately, during this process I switched the two Play 1’s to the S2 controller (I was testing them with the Move). However, I cannot reconnect them back to the S1 controller. Exactly the same issue as with the Move “Not connected”, “Your Sonos product was not found”. What is really perplexing is that the

System was 100% reliable until the Arc

 I started my Sonos system with a Move, which was remarkably easy to setup and has worked flawlessly.  Next I purchased the subwoofer and added a pair of One SLs (with which I created a stereo pair).  Again, all setup could not have been easier and all components--including the app--interacted without even a minor glitch.  All of these products, incidentally, we're acquired in the last couple of months.   Two days ago I picked up my Arc from Best Buy and the only thing that works consistently now is the Move.  The Arc works fine by itself, but the One SLs and the subwoofer will not connect at the same time.  We have tried the app on 4 devices (2 IOS and 2 Android)--two of them don't even show the Arc.  We have followed troubleshooting to the letter, unplugging/plugging countless times, doing factory resets on all components repeatedly, resetting the wifi router, etc.  At no time in the countless iterations of this process would all components appear in the app at the same time; further

How to use a bridge on S2 with Player3 and Move

I have an older Bridge and if I remember correctly I was informed that it was no longer needed for S1 and player 3. I   have switched over to S2 for my player 3 and added a Move as well. Is there anyway to use my older  bridge on s2 for these two products and is it worth the effort? If not is there a way to sell it that it others can use it? TY Bob

Mixed network with Sonos Beam, One and Move

Hi,I have a Beam connected to ethernet. When the Beam and my Sonos One are the only devices turned on, the Sonos One automatically joins Sonosnet via wireless, all good. But as soon as my Move is turned on, the Sonos One switches to Wifi (WM:1). The Beam is on my Living Room while the Sonos One and Move are near each other in my Bedroom. Is it possible for Sonos One to join the Sonosnet when it's near a Move? I know the Move doesn't support Sonosnet, but I don't understand why the One also needs to be in Wifi.

Sonos Move connects to wrong WiFi

Hi. After searching the forum this feels like a borderline case:I’m having problems keeping my Sonos Move on my “devices” VLAN. I first set it up through my “normal” VLAN with the rest of my Sonos players. Then, I moved them all to “devices”, and have configured then and my Unifi USG router, switches and APs so that I can control the Sonos players from my “normal” VLAN.Moving the Sonos Move to the devices network ain’t at all easy, though: I ended up doing a factory reset and set it up with the iPhone connected to the “devices” network, and everything looked good.Except that the Move goes into battery saving mode, and when it wakes up it connects to the “normal” network - even though I haven’t configured it to connect to it after the factory reset!  How is this possible?Does the setup procedure copy ALL Wifi networks from the phone to the Move and somehow convinces Move to connect to another network than the one I set it up with?This makes no sense to me at all.  What’s going on? Cheer

MOVE wifi connection.... have i been miss sold?

Hi To start, I have 7 sonos products and have been with sonos for about 4 years…..I love it!!Back ground…I live in a house with poor wifi coverage. I get good coverage in one corner of the house from the router and use a couple of wifi extenders to get wifi coverage for the rest of the house. All works well for zoom calls, netfix, etc etc on all phones, pcs, ipads and fire stick. Downside with sonos, is it doesn't like my extenders as i think it cases lag, so i bought a Sonos boost 1 year ago…..Now all sonos works perfectly and i love it! Toaday…I received my Move over the weekend, set it up next to my router and all is well. Move it to my kitchen and it now says that its connected to a wifi extender and cannot play (not the exact words but you get the idea). i take it back to the router (which is 1 meter from the Sonos Boost) and it still says im on the extender.  after resetting it a few times I called sonos tech support that had me reset every thing again, switch off extenders etc e

Wireless Range Extender message mesh network

Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me with my issue.I have a Play 5, 2 One SLs, a Play 1, and a Move which were all working well with my Netgear Orbi Mesh network. Unfortunately, the Orbi died and I replaced it with an Asus Zen Wifi CT8 mesh router. I have the Play 5 directly wired to the router. Of course, the Move is connected via Wifi. All of the speakers appear in the app and function, but whenever I try to group the Move with another speaker, I get a pop-up saying:“Wireless range extender. Some Sonos products are using the WiFi from a range extender device. If you include one of these in a room group, you won’t be able to play music in that group. To ensure playback in all grouped rooms, you’ll need to permanently wire a Sonos product to the router.”Of course, I already have Sonos permanently connected to the router, and all of the speakers show WM:0 (except Move), indicating they’re using the SonosNet dedicated mesh system. Sonos Move setup on new network

I brought my Move with me to a vacation rental house for the month and have struggled to get it to work in this network. I’d prefer not to switch to Bluetooth because multiple people use this Move. At home my Move is part of a Sonos setup with several other speakers. I brought it to this house, followed instructions to setup the move, also reset the Sonos app on my phone, followed the steps to setup a new device, played a song, and then the next day my iOS app says “Unable to connect to Sonos.” I went through the whole setup again and hours later it went back to the same message. Any idea what the issue is?

Issue connecting Sonos Move to Deco 5 Mesh Network

The Sonos Move is my first and only Sonos device and I can’t get it to connect to my wifi. I have Xfinity wifi with a Deco 5 mesh network. I tried turning off 5GHz network on the Deco, but that didn’t help. Any ideas?
