ROAM Compatible with 1st Generation Sonos

If you mean can Roam join an S1 system then the answer’s no. Roam requires S2.

Move2 bluetooth connection

I got a brand new Sonos Move2 direct from Sonos. I’m a fitness instructor and needed to connect via Bluetooth. The first time I used it the sound kept cutting out. I’m using Spotify on an Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’ve used this device in the same rooms and positions connecting to my old Bose and had no problem at all. I contacted Sonos and they told me to reset and send diagnostics etc. when they couldn’t find the problem they send me another band new one and I had to return the original one back to Poland. The second one came. First time I tried it, exactly the same. Again contacted Sonos, went through all the diagnostics with no joy. I explained the goods were unfit for purpose however they refused to give me a refund stating because I had received a replacement it was out of their money back guarantee!! I’m fuming. I have a speaker that is useless for my purpose!! Wish I had upgraded to a better Bose. The only thing I have found which helped slightly was moving my iPhone further awa

Reconnect Roam after drop off

I cannot make my Roam reconnect. I’ve been using it and it’s been working fine, but now I don’t seem to be able to reconnect it again. It shows up in the list and I can chose it, but I get an error message: “unable to connect”. What do I do?

Sonos Roam Will Not Power On

Sonos Roam is not powering on.  I have had it for about 2 years and it has always charged properly and powered on properly.  I have switched the charging cable and charging block out and also plugged into a powered USB A charging outlet without the charging adapter and left it for awhile.  The charging light never comes on.  I have also tried a factory reset on it.  Nothing appears to resolve the issue.  Any thoughts on why it might be dead and how to resurrect it (other than what I have already tried)?

alexa problems with sonos roam 2 that appear offline

My sonos roam 2 works perfectly well with alexa and with bluetooth connection but when i ask him to play music via spotify it always says that it is off line. I tried to disconnect, reconnect, cancel alexa service and so on but the problem is always there. What can i do to have it online again?Moderator edit: Changed roam to roam 2, corrected typo

Roam won’t turn on

My Roam had been plugged in but unused for several months (it is in a vacation house that I visit only periodically). When I attempted to use it, it would not turn on. I scanned this forum and found many others in the same boat and saw suggestions for attempting to get the Roam to work - none of them worked.  I initiated a chat with Sonos Tech Support (note: phone wait was over 90 minutes and I was 30th in line for chat attention, but I hung in there). The very helpful technician had me go through the troubleshooting steps (12 second power button, 5 second power button and play button) but nothing worked. Sonos will replace my Roam with a Roam 2. The technician strongly recommended that when a Roam is not going to be used for an extended period of time, it should be disconnected from the power (either USB-C or wireless). While it is unclear what an extended period of time means, I’ll try this with my new Roam 2. I hope this works for me and other Roam/Roam 2 owners.

My sonos roam has stopped working i have tried various different reset methods but its just dead. The orange charge light comes on when plugged into a charger but once unplugged its dead

Moves missing from app software

I use the latest software. My wifi is very strong and steady. Oftewel the SONOS app does not recognise the SONOS Move products ( i have 2 Move products). What is the solution?

Roam - cant see battery status when connected to BT

See some states that they can see roam  battery status in the Sonos app when connected to BT but it doesn’t show in my app. iOS - everything updated.   Any suggestions?

sonos move flashing white

My Sonos move is flashing white, I have tried multiple times to do a factory reset. I have no chime when I turn it off like the reset mentions. Speaker also no longer is showing up on the app. I have updated my network with no success to the speaker. Has anyone successfully done a factory reset without hearing the charm etc. Is the speaker done with?

Hi Team, I have a Roam (and a move and many other products) but my Roam just stopped turning on. Tried all the YouTube videos, but cant get it going. Any suggestions? Pretty frustrating for a premium product like this to go at 1 year.

How do I remove a Sonos roam from the S2 App? The roam is dead and no longer connects to the system and therefore needs to be removed from the device list.

Playing Music through my Roam 2

Hi, Sonos Community.  My husband received a Roam 2 as a gift and we were excited to add it to our existing Sonos system.  We have a One (wired) and Play 1 (wireless) in our existing set-up and they work perfectly.  We updated to the latest version of the Sonos App before we added the Roam 2 to our system.  The connection process was smooth and the App sees the three speakers and says they are all connected.  We are unable to play music from the Roam 2, however, and we’ve tried selecting it alone and grouped with the other speakers (which is how we would almost always use it.)  When we select the roam we get an “Unable to connect.  Please try again later message”  Again, our One and Play 1 are working perfectly.I spent an hour on hold last night with customer service (no agent event answered) and have tried the live chat mutliple times (the bot keeps saying there are no agents available) so this is my last shot at resolving the issue before we return the speaker.  We already have an ama

Roam Update Error (iOS and Windows)

I’m creating a new thread as I tried asking in several other threads but haven’t yet heard back from anyoneI have this same Roam issue where you can kind of add it via iPhone app, but then it says “not registered” and when you click on “fix it” it gives error code 1,008. Everyone saying use windows app to update itBut how on earth are people getting the desktop app to update anything? I have downloaded, deleted and redownloaded the desktop app on my pc multiple times and never am I asked to update anything (I am using the latest app for windows). I have tried resetting my roam, adding it via my phone, getting to the “not registered” point, hitting fix it, then leaving it open on the screen when I see “error 1,008” and then I try to start up the desktop app but nothing happens. If I click on join an existing system, it just asks me to configure firewall and then opens the app but no mention of any updates and no sign of my roam within the devices. Only lists my other speakers that have

I have a Roam (gen 1) and I’d like to now if I get a Roam 2 (as they’re cheaper), will I be able to create a stereo pair (using wifi - I understand this is not possible with Bluetooth). Or do I need to get another gen 1 Roam?

Sonos Roam won’t connect after this week’s update… again

With this week’s update, many things are broken again. Including now my Roam is “unable to connect”. This happened shortly after the first release of this new piece of junk app but was later fixed. Now it is broke again and my Roam is useless for now. I am so fed up with Sonos…. As a software engineering manager and configuration control expert, it frustrates me beyond belief when a “professional” organization breaks things that once worked. I am looking forward to a big class action suit. I won’t even start on what else is broke again… did you just push out the original new app?

Sonos move 2 playback cutting off

When I take my move to to work and play music using Bluetooth it keeps cutting off while playing they’re small but consistent cuts. I already troubleshoot it to the best of my ability but the issue remains. Customer support told me to connect it to WiFi at work but I can’t because there is only the guest WiFi which doesn’t allow the speaker to connect to the app. Does anyone have any suggestions about it or has encounter the same issue

Roam working independently but wont link to rest of system

Hello alli have a full sonos system set up in my home Inc ceiling speakers, Era 100’s, and Arcs plus a a roam and a Move 2.i have had them all working independently and as one system but now I can’t link my roam to the rest of the system.It only will play independently. Controlling Music on Mac using Sonos App

Hi, Can I use the Sonos mobile app on my iPhone to play/control music from my Mac desktop?  I think I used to be able to do this but it seems like the Sonos desktop no longer functions?  I can play music on my Sonos using my Mac, but I cannot control it from my phone. Is this possible?  Thank you!

Roam

My Roam stopped working overnight. Fully powered up using USB C connector as not sure if wireless charging base was working. Orange LED comes on for a couple of seconds then goes off. Pressing buttons has no affect. Sonos app up to date. Tried searching for new device, no joy. Have 4 Sonos One SL’s around the house that work perfectly.
