Volume Normalization

Hi. A problem with Volume Normalization still persists on Sonos. I have all my aac and alac music with both replay gain and iTunes iVolume tags applied and there is still a problem with the music playing either too loud or too quiet when shuffle mode is applied. The problem is also there when streaming from Spotify and Amazon Music.

There’s no volume normalisation with the online services unless they supply suitable metadata to Sonos. I’m not sure they do.

As for normalisation in local library music, it’s always been rather half-baked and that hasn't changed in over a decade. Given the low use of library play these days (the last I heard it was down to single percentage figures) I somehow doubt Sonos will expend effort fixing things at this point.
