I have organized and cleaned up my Music App on my mac mini. I now have 271 playlist, the same number as before getting organized.  I have a notification from the Sonos system that there are to many playlist.  I created folders on the mac for the different types of playlist.  Sonos2 has the folders listed as playlist?  I can delete the folders and or some of the playlist.  any other suggestions welcomed

Hi there @Cambridgehank, Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the community. Sorry to know about this issue with your Playlists. I coordinated with our specialists about this concern, and I’ll ask you to submit a diagnostic report for us to investigate further what could be causing this issue and we will check what’s going on with the associated player for this error message. You may reply to the thread with the confirmation number to assist you with this issue.  I’ll also ask some questions for us to further check on this issue.

  • Are these Sonos playlists that you have created or for Music Service playlists?
  • Does it happen only on the Mac or on all of your device controllers after the cleanup?

Let us know how it goes and we're here to answer any further questions you have.

Simon, thank you for the reply.I did some investigating with the playlist on my Mac Mini.  I have set up playlist folders in the Music App (formerly iTunes).  The Sonos sees the folders as additional playlist.  For example, I have a folder called “The Blues”  in that folder are five playlists.  Sonos shows the folder as a playlist called “The Blues” and has all the songs from each of the five playlists. There are forty folders and they are all listed in Sonos.  Is there a way to not load the folders?  I am compulsive enough that I like having my music playlist organized.

In looking at individual playlist in the Sonos app, I also found the entire library loaded as a playlist?

Hi there @Cambridgehank, thanks for the update and for sending a diagnostic report of your Sonos system. As we checked it with our specialists. We saw no issues on the 35,000+ tracks on your Music library as well as the playlists. We need to dig deeper to check this out and fo see where the issue is coming from for that error message. I'll ask you to kindly contact our phone support team for further assistance and more in-depth troubleshooting steps. They will be requesting remote access to your device controller to check on this issue further.

Keep me in the know with the advice above.

Simon, here is what I believe to be the problem

  1.  I have playlist folders set up in my music app.
  2. Sonos imports the folders as playlist, thereby duplicating playlist.  And the entire library has been imported as a playlist.

How do I manage the Sonos app to not include folders?  Or how do I delete playlist and not have them reimported?

There is not enough room to import all playlists. Please delete some playlists and update the music index.

That is the error message I get.  I have reduced the number of playlist on the Macintosh , yet still get this message.  It would help to know how many playlist Sonos can handle or what playlist were not imported.
