does anyone know if the Sonos can use the new high-end Olive music center as a base?

My understanding is that it cannot as the songs, once ripped, are not shared to the network.

I suggest you read [thread=2861]this thread[/thread] (which I found by cliking on the "search" menu, and typing "olive") :)

Cheers,

Go have a look here:
www.hifidelio-user.de

It is german, but they have one or two threads in english, there are some english users on the board as well, maybe you can get in contact with them.

AFAIK, the Olive products are based on the Hifidelio products.

On this forum, they have hacked the Hifidelio, and manage to share music on the network. So it should also work with sonos.

Or try to pm this boards (forums.sonos.com) user Dksoft. He both has Sonos and Hifidelio.
