Since getting a new computer, I cannot use/reset the music library. My old computer is not available anymore, so I am trying to set up a new folder on the new laptop.

- Alas, to no avail. I read the topic to SMB 1.0/CIFS Server and made those changes - also set my network to private - still no result. The App is still seeking the old computer folder, that is not here anymore. Tried to install the system new, but seems to jump back to previous settings and seeking only folder. HELP!  Streaming and mobile works just fine.

I’m not sure what you mean by “install the system new”. In any case I suggest that you refrain from Factory Reset without further consult.

Do you have Sonos Playlists?

Thank you Buzz,

No, I don't have playlists - more of a puritan in that sene, hence no worries about anything getting lost - more eager to solve the issue. With re-installing I was indeed thinking of deleting everything, but not quite there yet.

Since you don’t have any SONOS Playlists, you should delete the old library from the SONOS controller. Don’t delete files from the computer. This should be straight forward, but you may need to close or re-install the controller after removing the old library setup. Now you can setup the new library using the SONOS controller.

The latest SONOS update supports SMB2. There is no need to fuss with the increasing hostility toward SMB1.

Nor does SMB, either version, impact the ability to play music on your computer’s own hard drive. If that is where your music is, I’d reverse any of the changes to SMB you have previously made. Any SMB changes are made only for music stored on a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device only, Sonos dies not use SMB to access files on the computer’s own hard drive.
