Today I started testing Amazon Music HD, and I see the HD tag when playing music on Beam, I know that Sonos announced that the Play:1 does not support HD, but I know that for example, they work with Dolby Atmos when connected to an Arc. Does the same thing happen when they are connected to Beam? That is, if I group the Play:1 with the Beam, will the Play:1 play music in HD?
So I've got a Synology NAS and a couple of Sonos speakers. Some day I got the stupid (!) idea to switch SMBv1 off and soon I found out that my Sonos stuff was unable to find my local music library. Of course I agree that Sonos should move to v2 or v3, but since there is no sign they will, even after the whole S2 operation, it seems we will have to solve this ourselves. I’ve seen the Raspberry pi solution here on the forum, but I didn’t want separate devices and I thought it should be possible to do the same with docker on the NAS itself. If you are not familiar with Docker yet: it is like running an extra machine (called “container”) on your NAS, a little bit like virtual machines, but easier and more lightweight. The container runs isolated on your NAS, it only gets the access to your NAS you grant it specifically. Docker is a standard package on Synology. It also has a nice “registry”: an app store where everyone can share their containers. So the idea is: run a container with SMB (S
When playing Amazon Music Unlimited Dolby Atmos tracks through my Arc/sub/One SLs the volume level is ridiculously low. It doesn't happen with HD and Ultra HD tracks. Looked around and found this reddit post:https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/rc5zqb/low_volume_on_amazon_dolby_atmos_music/ Tested the suggested workaround of simply pausing the Dolby Atmos track and restarting and it automatically fixes the volume every time. Crazy and annoying. But it avoids the problem of manually increasing the volume of an Atmos track only to have the next non-Atmos track blow you out of your chair.
All the music avail thru Amazon Prime Music app will not play on Sonos Move. Example: “JS Bach St Matthew Passion” is avail on Prime but does not show up under search in Sonos app. Only limited sub-set of Bach music appears on Sonos app. I have successfully connected my Amazon account under the settings/services in Sonos app. Have others had same experience? Alternatively, can Sonos speaker function solely as bluetooth connection (not thru Sonos app) to smart phone or is this too simple?
I have used Pocket Casts with Sonos for several years without issues. After encountering a problem, I deleted the Pocket Casts music service from my Sonos system in attempt to correct issue. I have not been able to reconnect. When I go to “Add a Service” on either Android or Windows Desktop app, I get a “Check your network connection error” when I try to add Pocket Casts. I do not get this error with other music services, which I am able to successfully add, so I do not believe there is an issue with my network connection. I believe there is an issue with Pocket Casts, but Sonos Status Page shows Pocket Casts as “green check mark”.
I would like to know if this is a good solution to play hi res files (24bit 192khz) on a sonos five stereo system. As far as I know and read in div. threads in this forum it is not possible to stream Apple Hi-Res lossless via the Sonos app (only AAC 256). Amazon Music Ultra HD or Quobuz/ Tidal is limited to 24bit 48khz.Streaming from Apple Devices via Airplay is also limited to lossless (16bit 44khz).That's why I thought about the following:Usage of my Apple Devices (Mac or iPad) via DAC (e.g Topping DS 50 or FIIO) connect via USB and then use line in to Sonos five. I can see (via a borrowed RME ADI2 ) that I receive 24bit 192khz from my Apple devices. My question now is: is the SONOS five directly using this stream without any further conversions, or does it convert the stream, when it is played locally via the wired connection described above (Mac-USB-DAC-jack plug -Line in Sonos five)?Anyone using this solution already? How does it sound? Thanks a lot, regards tomyc
There seem to be 3 streaming options for my favourite station, Classic FM. Sonos Radio; Global Player & TuneIn. Recently, all 3 of these providers have been interrupting steaming music with advertising. This is in addition to the normal advertising either side of news breaks etc. This intrusion ruins the enjoyment that listeners ought to expect and from my perspective at least, is completely counterproductive as it would discourage me from using the products or services. If this doesn’t stop, I will get a tuner and use the line-in facility again, streaming the FM radio channel instead. Hopefully pressure will be applied by Sonos to eliminate this intrusive practice.
Hi all, from a few weeks, the Deezer service on my Sonos Connect stoped to work. I have a Premium Deezer contract. Is there a known issue with Deezer those last weeks?Yesterday, i rebooted the Sonos Connect. It changed nothing. I tried to add the deezer service even if it was present and i had an error message, something like “issue with authentification. if it continues, contact your Sonos support”.I delete Deezer service successfully. I tried again to add it and i had the same error message.I reset my Sonos Contact. Now, i have only one available service which is “last.fm”.Please, how to have again the list of all the available musical services like before the reset? The version of the Connect devive is 8.6 and i can’t upgrade it as i use an old dedicated Android tablet to pilot it.In advance thank you for your help.
I tried Sonos HD Radio and thought it was decent but not worth the $8 per month so I cancelled. My wife decided she really liked a couple of stations and wanted me to reactivate it. It says I have to call to reactivate, what’s up with that? Like any service I should be able to activate and cancel it online. Would love to hear the logic on that one, Why?
I have previously used the Amazon Prime Music service but have now taken up the offer of a free 3 month trial of Amazon Unlimited which offers 90 million songs, many of which are HD. My question is if my Sonos system of Soundbridge 100 and Zoneplayer 90 can handle the HD tracks. Also, is there any way in the Sonos app of seeing if a track is standard or HD ?
So the PC hosting my Sonos libraries died and I’ve had to reinstall my music on a new computer/Server which has a different name. But the playlists have the old server name in the the path/source file info. How do I fix the playlists I’ve created so that they will find the music in the new PC/folder. For example, when I try to play my playlist it will say:\\OLDPC\Music\thriller.wav is missingI now need the playlist to point to \\NEWPC\Muisc\thriller.wav in order to solve the problem. If I can’t edit the playlists I will have to spend an incredible time rebuilding them. Thanks!J
So I just tried to open Sonos Radio HD again and am getting the annoying error that I’m already subscribed (which is true) but the app acts like I’m not.If I try to manage my subscription in the app it just shows the screen as if I’m not subscribed, but when pressing “Try it now” I get the following screenshot: So the app tells me I’m subscribed, but doesn’t show me the Radio. When I press ‘OK’ in the above alert I get the following screenshot after a couple of seconds: And afterwards nothing happens and I still can’t listen to Sonos Radio HD. If I go to the radio menu then I just see it as if I’m not subscribed. So pretty annoying, how to fix this?
I currently use airplay on iPhoneX to send FLAC files with FlacBox to Sonos. The iPhone storage of 256GB is getting small, so thinking of going with portable music player such as Astell&Kern, but those players don’t seem to have airplay.I am looking for portable player with >=1TB storage, can create FLAC playlists, has decent built in DAC (better than DragonFly cobalt), and can play playlist wirelessly to Sonos (airplay? Any other option?). Any recommendations?I could go with iPhone13, but prefer getting rid of the dongle DAC for headphone listening.
When listening to a local radio station through Sonos, how do I turn off the The Progressive commercial - the one where he steps on toys while turning out the lights - that repeats 3 times every hour. I never hear this commercial when I listen to this radio station in my car.
HEllo everyone, This is my first post. I am a single grandmother from Bath but was born in Portmsouth I just wanted to mention that I love Sonos but I was deveistated when the CR100 was discontinues. I paid a graphic designer to make this artwork which I have now hung on my prick boardGod bles and have a nice weekend afternoon Della
For the last couple weeks I have had problems using Alexa to trigger Spotify music on my Sonos Roam.If I ask Alexa to play a song, the Alexa voice will respond and indicate the correct song on Spotify, but then... nothing! No music comes out of the speaker.I can still play music on the Roam via the Spotify Connect or Sonos App. It just won't play when I use Alexa.I have reviewed all the settings, and Alexa has Spotify skill enabled. This used to work fine. What am I doing wrong?
About a few months ago my Spotify stopped playing songs 30 seconds into playing then on my wireless Sonos Playbar home theatre setup. It would also skip songs, and sometimes out of the blue it would start playing another song without any input from me, all using the Spotify App on my iphone. I researched many threads online and even contacted Spotify. I tried alot of the suggestions provided to no avail. Then I tried the Spotify App on my smart TV and it worked flawlessly. So why doesn’t the Spotify App work on my iphone? This got me wondering why. Then I read that Sonos only uses the 2.4 ghz wireless band and not the 5 ghz band. So I checked the wifi connection on my iphone and it was connected via the 5 ghz band. So I changed my iphone wifi to the 2.4 ghz band and now Spotify works flawlessly again. At least for the last week or so. I thought I would relay this to others with similar problems. Good luck.
I have been using Sonos Desktop to play my stereo enabled Roams since Alexa just keeps telling me to get the skill I already have :). Now I have a problem using Sonos desktop to search music. Nothing is coming up at all except for “my music” that’s on the PC - none of the subscription tracks are showing at all. I saw this in a few dated threads but never saw a solution. My Sonos S2 desktop app was recently updated a week or so ago. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem or has a solution. (And other services are fine on the desktop app, and I can see my amazon music subscription fine from my iphone)
I have a pretty elaborate dj setup that I use a lot in my office and my wife is often doing art in her studio. She sometimes wants to listen to what I am playing but they are on opposite sides of the house. Do I just need to get a Sonos Amp or Port to play my dj set through the Sonos system?I am not concerned about delay or anything like that since I won't be using any Sonos speakers near me.Thanks to anyone that takes the time to answer.
