Hi there, I've had my Beam for 6 months or so, love it, but when searching for music to play thru the app that I have in folders on my phone it doesn't have a search function for actual folders. I find there's no real organisation when my files show up also, it's not alphabetical or date order and I can never find stuff I want to play. The app just seems to randomly list my music, is Sonos going to add this feature or can I do something to make searching for music easier?Cheers
Hi.I have a Canadian Sonos account but bounce back and forth between Brasil and Canada. I have Sonos gear in both countries. I know I can purchase Sonos HD Radio with a Canadian credit card and play it in Canada. But will it continue to work with that account when I return to Brasil, or will it be geoblocked according to my IP address or by another locator method? Thanks.
Looking at all your Sonos Radio stations and you have a category of Christian, but unlike every other music service out there you don’t play popular Christian or Worship Music. You have a channel called Grace with a sub-name of Crossover Praise which is just pop music that might have a positive message. I wish you would add a modern praise station that is consistently pure Christian music. Examples are SiriusXM the Message or Pandoras Today’s Christian Hits Radio or Spotify Best of Live Worship. Its almost insulting to think someone thinks the music played is what poeple are looking for under Christian Music.
A music video, whether on YouTube or another video medium, sounds better with energy and punch than if I listen to it on Spotify.does sonos apply different equalization for video and another one for music streaming?I enjoy more when I listen to the songs from a video because they are heard with more energy and more punch and it is unfortunate how the music is heard from the bar if I use music that I have on my cell phone or from Spotify, my Sonos Five sounds better the music from Spotify that my Sono arc.Can Sonos improve this on the Sonos arc?
Hi,I’ve read a number of posts here and pages on the Sonos site but I would love help confirming I’m understanding all of this. I currently have two Play 1 speakers. If I buy a turntable with a phono preamp built in, and a Sonos Port, I should be able to use those to play vinyl through my current Play 1 speakers, correct? Do I need any other hardware, besides cabling, to make that work?
I’ve setup SiriusXM with the Sirius APP, and it works fine on the iPhone App. My Sirius login is working fine. When I attempt to Add Service for Sirius to the Sonos App, it gives me an error that my login credentials for Sirius are not valid. But I KNOW that they are valid because I use the exact same ID and PW on the Sirius website and it works fine. I’ve attempted multiple times with same results. I’ve also “Reset” the Sonos app. Same results. Anyone have a solution?
Just looking for a little more information and clarification around Apple Music lossless. Had a good read of a number of the topics in the forum and if I am right, I can stream lossless to my ARC when connected to Apple TV - so am good with that, all works fine including Dolby Atmos etc. If I group the ARC with additional speakers in different rooms (outside of the home theatre setup), since ALAC I believe is a supported codec, will I get lossless to the other speakers or will it use AAC. So in essence, if I start streaming from the Apple TV and not the S2 app, will I get lossless to other speakers Also, be great if the S2 app would show streaming format for all the speakers in the same way that it shows the audio format on the ARC
While listening to music from my Plex server, via a web browser, I tried adding Plex as a source for my Sonos system. The authorization on the Plex end works fine. Plex shows up as an available media source. However, when I try to select it in Sonos, I get this error:"No Plex Media Server available. Please make sure your Plex Media Server is accessible."I have tried updating Plex, uninstalling and re-installing it as a media source in Sonos, and am stymied at this point about how to resolve this.
I cannot add a music library from mij synologynas anymore since I have DSM 7With DSM6 it always worked fineI have a Sonos Play:5 (generation 1) and I am using the Sonos1 app on my android device. The solution given was to enable NTLMv1 in SMB adjustments, however it doesn't work for my. maybe because I am using the S1 controller.HELP: Anybody knows a solution? Thanks Moderator Note: Modified for clarity - added “:5” to “Play”
Hi,I just moved, and need to put my existing SONOS system back together, I also have some legacy equipment that I’d like to include. (Most of this was incorporated previously, but everything is jumbled around into different rooms because the sizes and layout of the new house are different.)Specifically, I want to include a CD player, receiver, and legacy speakers. (I know; CD players are so 20th century. All my CDs have been ripped to my computer, and I play them from there. But I have a wife who will never figure out how to run the SONOS system from her phone. She also likes to use the receiver for the amazingly old-fashioned purpose of tuning into over-the-air radio, especially NPR.) It seems that the right configuration is CD Player (RCA)=> SONOS Port (RCA)=> Receiver => SpeakersIt’s clear to me that this works to play physical CDs into any part of the SONOS system. However, it also seems that to play other SONOS music through the legacy speakers, I have to either
Sonos can't process large library, even if it is well below the 65,000 track limit... unless split into separate folders
I have a fairly large music library (~27,000 tracks), which is well below the 65,000 track limit. Recently, after adding some more tracks, I discovered that the Sonos library was only showing about 10% of the tracks… Somehow in the import/indexing process it had broken. I don’t know for sure, but while my library has about 800 album artists, it has far more actual artists (e.g. compilations), and the tracks I recently imported were compilations with many artists. So I suspect that the problem is related to the number of artists. I was able to resolve the issue by splitting my library (on my NAS drive) between a compilations folder and “everything else.” When I did, Sonos was able to import/index the whole library. What that tells me is that I haven’t hit some limit for the library in general (i.e. it can handle all 27,000 tracks) but that the import/index process can’t handle all of the tracks when it runs the indexing process (possibly because of teh number of artists, but that’s just
I must be being rather thick, but I don’t see how I can search for a particular composer in Amazon Music Unlimited. For example, if I search my local music library for “haydn” on the PC app, then I get a list of all the variations of haydn - I can then pick one and see all the albums under that composer (e.g. Michael Haydn, rather than Franz Joseph). This isn’t great, and is why I always use the folder view - but it’s better than nothing. However, if I search Amazon music, then there isn’t a composer tab, so I can only see a mish-mash of haydn related info under Artist or Album or Songs. On the phone app, I don’t even seem to be able to choose which dataset to search, but if I choose the composers tab then it only shows my local library. Neither the phone of the PC apps seem to find anything by Michael Haydn. What am I missing, please?
Dear Sonos Thank you for Sonosradio with smooth jazz.I am a normalt a very happy listener. Though, I have recently more times received the same advert for sex toys. In the advert there is a female voice who advertises sex toys which makes wednesdays special. I find this inappropiate when my 13 year old son is nearby. Off course I have raised him so that he knows what sex is. But sex toys in a radio commercial saturday morning just after breakfast? Honest? Will Sonos please return if you find this appropiate? Of course I could pay to skip the commercials. Normally I am OK with commercials but I didnt foresee a connection between Sonos and adult content.
Sonos specifications indicate UPNP compatibility. There is an option in the settings menu to enable UPNP functionality. After this is enabled, the UPNP servers on the local network should show up in the Browse Music area. However, I cannot find a UPNP server for the Mac that actually works. Sonos cannot see any of them, even though other clients on the same network see them.I realize there is a “pay to play” feature to use PLEX’s proprietary system, if I am okay with opening my local network to remote access from the Plex servers in Virginia. But I don’t really need another monthly fee and security concern….especially since the functionality I seek is apparently already built in to Sonos. The only media server I have read about working with Sonos locally is the Windows Media Server….which of course it not an option for my Mac.Has anyone figured out any Mac media servers that work like that?
Upgraded to a new Synology NAS, and upgraded from S1 to S2. Added the path to the new NAS and deleted the path to the old. However the system still tries to connect to music that was loaded on the old device. Tried this on both the IOS mobile and the MAC desktop apps. How can I remove the old library references so that it only uses the new ones? Alternatively, how can I remove all links to the library so that I can start again, tried it using the “Manage Library Settings” but made no difference?Have seen similar problems In the past if I move music to different locations in my library, the music index update fails to remove the old links.
I have two Sonos speakers--one in my office and one in the kitchen downstairs. I listen to mine in my office while I work all day, and my family will pop into the kitchen and play music occasionally. However, Sonos seems to have changed this policy and will only allow Spotify to stream from one device at a time. I have the paid version of Spotify. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t let a family stream Spotify off of multiple devices--do you want us to pay for a new subscription of each device? Did I not spend enough money on this overpriced speaker system already? I feel like I’m paying premium prices for a less-than-premium product. I just want to be able to listen to music.
I recently set up a Sonos system, and Spotify is the only service I’ve connected. I want to be able to play songs marked as “explicit” through Sonos, but they’re grayed out. It seems like this has to either be a Spotify thing or a Sonos thing, but… I’ve never filtered explicit content in Spotify, but I checked my Spotify settings just in case, and “Allow explicit content” is indeed enabled I found “Content Filters” in the Sonos settings, but “Filter Explicit Content” is grayed out and says “Not supported” Any idea what might be going on? I haven’t found an answer on the forums yet. Thanks!
Is there any news on when volume normalisation will be available for playing spotify through sonos speakers?I’ve just purchased 3 speakers for my business and I’m getting really frustrated at having to constantly alter the volume because the playback is either too loud or too quiet. If it’s not something you can/want to do please let us know and the reason why. I think we deserve an honest and comprehensive answer.
