Playing Audible on Sonos

I have just received a Sonos Play:1 for my birthday. Sadly I am not able to play Audible on it. Audible is about 90% of what I listen to, so this was pretty unfortunate. I have read that this issue was to be fixed this summer, but that was said back in february and it's august now. Is there an update? When will Audible be playable?

Connecting CD Player to Sonos Connect and Sonos speakers

After successfully downloading the Sonos app, completing the installation process for Sonos connect and two Sonos speakers, and being able to play digital music (on Amazon music) through them, I have not been able to play CDs on my Onkyo - DX 1800 through the Sonos system (even though I have tried lines in from the CD player and/or my amplifier to the Sonos Connect). Specifically, I see nothing on the Sonos app allowing me to add my CD player to the Sonos system. I have a couple of questions: First, can anyone explain to me how do add my Onyko CD player so that it works with Sonos? If my Onkyo CD player is not compatible with Sonos, could you suggest a low cost CD player that is? (And, yes, I know I am a bit of a dinosaur for having the vast majority of my music on CDs; but that's another discussion ...). Any help you can provide will be much appreciated, John

Amazon Music Canada

Hi Amazon just enabled Amazon Music streaming for Canada Prime members. Will it need an app update or just a matter of Sonos enabling it for canada?

itunes music library on sonos not updating with new songs added to itunes on PC

I have the Sonos app on my ipad and iphone but the itunes music library setting doesn't update for new songs added to itunes on my PC. What do I need to do please ?

Resolved - Apple Music Library Not Updating

Hi forum! For some reason, since updating to the latest update (version 8.2) my Apple Music connection seems to be being strange. If I download a new album via Apple Music, it downloads correctly but it doesn’t add to My Music on the Sonos app. If I add that same downloaded album to a playlist, it appears! I’m unsure why therefore if it will display in a playlist, why it doesn’t just show up in My Music under the correct artist or album?!

Sonos can’t play podcasts

I’ve been going back and forth with support since I purchased my Sonos Play 1. The primary reason I bought the speaker was to play podcasts but the sonos app doesn’t appear to work very consistently. After selecting a podcast that is local to my iPhone or iPad, I can play a podcast but the sonos system will erratically switch to the next podcast in queue or stop playing all together. Support has blamed the issues on my network but I have replaced my router, connected the speaker directly to the router, modified settings on my phone(disabled wi-fi assist) and nothing has helped. Does sonos have a permanent solution to this problem? Is sonos looking into adding native support for the podcast app?

Music service - free version compatible

Can you please tell me which are the music service compatible with Sonos in their free version? For example, I've noticed that I can add my free account of Google Music, but not my Spotify free one. Any other that works like Google Music? (I'm from Italy and I know the answer may vary from country to country...) Second question: what happens if I add a premium Spotify account to the Sonos system and then, after a month, I don't pay anymore? Is the Spotify account still usable with my Sonos system? ty

Is there any official word on the possibility of chromecast and Sonos working? As in i can cast from my iPhone to my Sonos something not available via Sonos (such as some shows that are available in iPlayer Radio but not available via TuneIn ? and other similar situations)

Absolute Radio UK STOPS international streaming

In their wisdom absolute radio has decided to stop streaming internationaly. Just wondering if anyone has found an alternative way to stream absolute while abroad on the sonos. Thanks in advance Mark

Is there anyway to get spotify podcasts on sonos? I follow them in spotify and they are in my library on my spotify app but I can not find them on sonos. Thanks for the help.

Pandora

i've been unable to connect to Pandora over Sonos for a couple of weeks now after it working flawlessly for years. I always get the "unable to play... the connection to Pandora was lost" message. On the CR100 it comes up when I select Pandora as a source. On my iTouch it logs in and I can see my Stations but when I select one I get the "Pandora was lost " message. On my PC with the Desktop Controller s/w I get the same - I can see my stations but they all fail to play. If I fire up my browser and go to [url]www.pandora.com[/url] I can connect, see all my stations andplay them perfectly all day long. Anyone any thoughts on what's going on, I'm missing my Pandora?? I have ripped all my CD's an put them on my dropbox so I can access them any-where any-time. But I can't find how to play them on my sonos.

Why can't I push *any* audio from phone/device to Sonos?

I've had sonos for years and I know how to play music and other services and music from my phone or other device via line in. But my question is: Why can't I direct any audio stream from my phone to Sonos?? If i' watching a youtube video on my phone, why can't I send that to sonos? Or if I'm listening to a podcast from a browser why can't that go to sonos? It goes to my bluetooth headset why not to sonos? Its pain having to find the podcast on soundcloud or some other 'recognised' service, sonos should just play whatever audio is on my device.

Do I need Spotify Premium to play Spotify songs on my Sonos?

The payment method for my Spotify premium service expired and I didn't change it because I just want the free Spotify version. Now I'm trying to play my Spotify playlist in the Sonos app. It keeps saying ... "Spotify on Sonos requires a Spotify Premium Account. Upgrade at..." Is it true? Do I need a premium acct to play Spotify on Sonos now? Note: I'm using version 5.2.

Sonos support for Hi Res Audio

Has anyone heard plans for Sonos to support higher resolution audio formats? Am looking at systems for a house I am setting up and want a WiFi-based solution. I have begun reading about companies like BlueSound but, so far, I have not found anyone who offers a complete turnkey solution like Sonos. There are advantages to have a mix of components, e.g., Dynaudio Xeo4, but they don't support a Sub. The industry looks to be still grappling with ad hoc/non-standard solutions so Sonos wins on totality with the (current) trade-off on the high end file formats. Thoughts/inputs appreciated...

I gave my daughter a pair of Sonos One speakers for Christmas. Now she wants to add a turntable. I have a good turntable I am not using. I assume I will need some kind of amp or preamp. What is the best (and easiest) way to set this up for her? Thanks.

Amazon Prime - won't play all songs in playlist

Hi, im a bit puzzled, I have songs in playlists on my amazon music cloud that work through the app (streaming). When I import the playlist to my Sonos app it shows the tracks icons however when I play them it try's to play the first track, fails then moves to the next track fails and repeats the same. Strange thing is some playlists work and others follow the described problem. Anyone got insight into this problem?

'Unable to play _____ the Connection to Spotify was lost' - Nov 2018

Seems like there are loads of these threads. No definitive fix. Not sure if this is a Spotify or Sonos issue so will post on both forums. Been a Google Play Music user for the last few years, but switched to Spotify for its recommendations and sharing options. Regretting it. GPM and Sonos were bullet-proof. Spotify and Sonos are constantly causing problems, and the integration is inferior - no Artist view? No Radio stations? Currently unable to play Spotify at all via my Sonos, either from Sonos, or using direct play from my desktop/Android app. Only get the message 'Unable to play _______ the connection to Spotify was lost'. Have restarted all Sonos speakers and the bridge, restarted router, re-added my Spotify account, etc etc. No dice. Diagnostic: 82238290 Anything else to try?

Sonos through Spotify ios app 'Can't play right now'

I recently connected Sonos to the Spotify app. It was working fine, streaming via the Spotify app. Now when I go to 'devices' to choose Sonos as my device it just says 'CAN'T PLAY THIS RIGHT NOW' I've reconnected my spotify account and sonos account but still getting nowhere. Help please!!

Play offline spotify tracks through Sonos controller

I have many playlists saved to different devices, android phone, laptop and ipad. When I want to play them through my speakers I have to wait for them to stream when using the bridge playlist. I realise I could use a line in connection but if I'm on the move round the house and want to change tracks or skip one I have to go to the Sonos device with chosen Spotify device attached to it to change the playlist, very frustrating if I'm upstairs and its connected downstairs. If there is no internet connection I am forced to use this method of listening to Spotify. A Sonos device capable of caching Spotify tracks or allowing us to use it in the same way as an ipad with Spotify installed for instance to create an offline selection would be ideal. This would resolve internet issues stopping a friendly way of continuing to use use our Sonos equipment and stop a bad connection causing stutter in the playback of tracks.
