What do you think of the idea of making it possible for one's Sonos setup to stream whatever is being streamed by a computer networked with the Sonos system? I'll give you an example. I want to get my pilot's license, so I like listening to air traffic control channels. There is a web site dedicated to that: www.liveatc.net I can open an app I have for that in my iPhone and then stream it via Airplay into an Airport Express and through my Sonos system, but it's a little kludgey and just as importantly, drains my phone battery if I want to walk around with it. It would be much more convenient to just set my computer to streaming it and then have the Sonos system monitor that. Maybe too many permissions needed between the computer manufacturer, liveatc.net, etc, for this to work easily, but thought I'd raise the question. Anyway, still getting lots of enjoyment out of my Sonos system!!
Hello, I wonder if and also how I can set the quality of the playback for Spotify in my Sonos-system? In Spotify-app for Iphone I can choose between approx. 96, 160 or 320 kbit/s. In Spotify-app for Windows I can choose to check or uncheck "High quality streaming" //Tobias
I purchase lots of high res FLAC files from hdtracks.com, but I can't play them on SONOS as high res FLAC files are not supported. Please add support for high res FLAC files: Reference: https://www.hdtracks.com/index.php https://sonos.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/80/kw/Music+Formats#var_f
I picked up a Play 3 and a Bridge this weekend and was amazed at how easy it setup and how great it sounded. So far i have only used Pandora and a few other stations on the Android App. I love it! I have not had the time to really jump into it but was wondering if someone could give me an idea where to start on how to access my 35,000 mp3 files i currently have on a external hard drive? Is it as simple as plugging into my computer and setting up the Sonos software on the computer? Sorry if this is such a "NOOB" question...just not sure where to begin!
Hi! Is there some way of changing the DNS adress of the Sonos system... I am not looking for a generel change in my computer-setup.. Just that Sonos goes thru a different DNS to be able to listen to radio-stations that is not possible because of the current listen-location is not supported. Any good tricks or is Sonos maybe planning a way of changing the DNS thru the software??
I am looking for either a forum or discussion group where users discuss issues with the Pandora service, since there has been a serious issue lately. Since the issue I am seeing has nothing to do with Sonos, it would be OT to discuss it here. Where can I go?
1.Will the ipad app be like the previous version, like the current pc version or an upscaled version of the iphone app? The ipad version will be the same like your previous version. 2. When I add a song to the current playlist it always goes straight to the bottom, can we have a play next option? The newly added tracks will be added at the bottom as default. So that it would be easy for us to identify the recently added tracks. If you want to change the order, you can very well do it by dragging and dropping it to that place where you want it to get saved. 3. Will the catologue from Napster and Rhapsody be merged or are we expecting to lose some of the old Napster tunes. You will not lose any Napster tracks. Migration process is going on and the tracks will get updated very soon. 4. The search function on the new app is poor. try a search for Ben Macklin, but only use first or last name, it won't find any results! Will there be an improvement in the search facility?
Hi everyone. Im experiencing problems with napster today and have been for some time now. Napster cuts out half way through a song then plays the next song and cuts out half way and so on. Local media plays fine I have a 120mb line with virgin so the speed isnt the issue. I have deleted the napster account on sonos and re added it That didnt work. Any ideas please?
I am new to Sonos and new to this forum. My current digital library consists of about 1300 cd's (over 22,000 tracks) all in their native WAV format on a 1Tb hard drive. I have been a DJ for over 20 years and ripped all these using Audiograbber. All these files have attached ID3V1 tags, which is a feature of Audiograbber. I use Denon DJ equipment and like the identical quality of the WAV file to the original CD. The Denon controller is able to read these tags, and Media Monkey can also see them. My question is why the Sonos indexing system can't read these tags also. I see them in folders no problem and they sound great on the Connect:Amp. If I converted them to FLAC, I then could not use them in the Denon system, which ony reads the two most common codecs: mp3 and WAV. Plus it is a lot of work to decode them all and then maintain two separate file systems. I am aware there are no standards for tagging in the WAV format, but obviously Media Monkey chose to support this tag proto
Has anyone else noticed that Stitcher Radio Podcasts do not resume from their previous position when played through Sonos. I was listening to TWiT via Stitcher on my Play5 yesterday. I switched to Pandora for a while when I actually had some thinking to do during work. This morning, when I went back to resume the TWiT episode, it started from the beginning. So this morning I found where I had left off, played it for a while, they switched to MacBreak Weekly by double clicking it in my playlist. It started from the beginning, as it should since I haven't listened to it on any of my devices yet via Stitcher. I then double clicked on TWiT to resume playing the episode. It once again started over from the beginning. If resume isn't working on Sonos, then I don't see much value to using Stitcher on the system. Am I just doing something wrong?
Since I got my Sonos system (mainly to use for Spotify) I have been plagued by the fact that I can only specify one account ont he system. Living in a 2 person household, where both of us have a spotify account, this is a real problem mainly because of the fact that we both use Spotify on our smartphones, and on other computers (for me, my work computer). I have my account added to the Sonos system, but if I listen to Spotify at work, the Sonos system is useless for spotify (and since that was the main reason for me, it's pretty much useless on total). I have a standing question with Spotify regarding multiple listening devices but since they have the mentality that "Spotify is per user only" they don't really seem to care. http://getsatisfaction.com/spotify/topics/premium_option_2_simultaneous_listening_devices So, the question is, are you suffering from the same problem? Would like to be able to add multiple accounts and easily switch between them? (or perhaps have th
Pandora just fed me a GLADE holiday scents ad right in the middle of two songs. I've never hear this prior and want to know who at Sonos and or Pandora decided to start forcing us to put up with LAME advertisements when for years it wasn't foisted on us. Yes every company wants to be profitable, but it would have been nice if Pandora or Sonos would have given us some practical notice before they changed their services.
