Hi, I have been using my system for quite some time now. It's been temperamental, but now it's become unusable. I have a three Play 1s - one as a single unit and two configured as a R + L pair. When I try and play radio stations with TuneIn, I get the error: "Unable to play the radio station". When I try to play with 22tracks, I get the error "Unable to add songs to the queue". When I try to play songs from my harddrive, they stop mid-song. Can I get someone to via a diagnostic and advise me accordingly? Thanks.
I have noticed that on both the Mac and IOS controllers, I can only see one artist/album on Apple Music/My Music. I'm not quite sure when it stopped showing the entire library. I can see Apple Music Playlists, but these do not appear to be up to date. I have tried re-authorising my apple music account but this does not seem to be helping. Has anyone else come across this issue?
With the release of iOS 10, Apple Music's For You section underwent a huge overhaul. I searched the forum with a bunch of different phrases, but I couldn't find a thread about this already, so I apologize if this has already been posted somewhere that I missed. Are there plans to reflect this overhaul in the Sonos UI? Most importantly (to me, and I'm sure a lot of people) are the two new continuously updated playlists: My New Music Mix and My Favorites Mix. These are crucial to the Apple Music experience now, and I'd love to access them via Sonos. Also very important to me are the new releases and my recently played things (albums and playlists) sections. Both are mainly where I go to when I open iTunes or Music and it would be great to have the same access on Sonos. There are now separate sections for the day's recommended playlists and the day's recommended albums, plus artist spotlight playlists. Some of these were reflected in Sonos with the old Apple Music For You, but it'd be
So there I was listening to some happy hardcore on my Sonos system, but fancied a bit of Pink Floyd... so I went to the right place, clicked on the file and was told i couldn't use the file. Look here at the screenshot: Seems I have to post > 3 posts to show links and images (why?????), so here we go... So why can't I play this flac? Cheers, Andy
Hi all, I am a newbie and haven't bought my sonos yet. Thinking of gearing up the whole house though. The one thing I can't seem to figure out is the options to how Sonos will connect to my music library. I currently have all my music on an external hard drive, as it is too many gigs to have on one computer only. I have selected pieces on my Mac, but that is what I find annoying. I DON'T use the cloud. HOW can I connect Sonos to my music WITHOUT having a computer running the whole time? Is there another option? I understand there's spotify etc but doesn't at least one table or computer have to be running then as well? What happens when the internet fails (which happened on a regular basis here)...does it still work? Thank you heaps in advance for giving me answers or directing me to links where I can further my research. :)
Hi! I'm in the unfortunate situation that I had quite a few 24bit recordings already in my library before I got the Sonos system. I'm having issues to find a tool that will let me convert from 24bit to 16bit. I don't really care about the small quality loss that this would cause, I just want to be able to enjoy all my music on the new system I bought. I normally run Mac OS X, Linux and FreeBSD, but could borrow a Windows machine to accomplish this since it would be a one-time thing. I've been searching around quite heavily, but it seems that there are very few tools that can accomplish this after the actual original ripping phase. Cheers,
I'm trying to listen to my apple library through my Sonos network, however, I cannot go beyond 20s without a drop, and have tried multiple options. For reference I installed a second Boost and made no difference - likely made it worse. I have 2 sets of Play 1 (two separate stereo rooms), 2 Plays 5 (separate rooms, with one connected to the router), 1 Play bar, 1 play 3, 1 AMP, one Connect, and 2 boosts. My internet signal tops 300Mbs on any day, so is not that. With the amount of Sonos i would believe that it should be a strong network. I have tried: -using my Mac to transmit to an airplay device connected to Play 5, AMP, and AMP Connect, and doesn't work. -Moving the Boost to different locations (no difference at all) -Try to queue my library into sonos, but error 1002 is a constant reminder that it's not the way to go - used limited Sonos speakers at once with same results Should i keep buying more Boost devices or, just give up on Sonos? (i.e., Airplay devices used to
Hi everyone, I am trying to connect my Zeppelin Air to my Sonos Connect. I want to do this wirelessly via a Airport express. I have connected the Connect and the line out is pointing to the airplay device. When I try to play music through it nothing is heard. I have tested the airplay device without the Sonos and it plays through the zeppelin. Can anyone tell me how I can play songs through the Sonos into the Zeppelin please All threads on the site either discuss Connect:AMP/Wired Attach or older non-wifi Zeppelins Thanks
I have a bunch of songs in a playlist. All play at a certain volume, except for about 10 of them. Those have the same volume peaks when viewed in Audacity, so it is something with SONOS, not the files. I could find nothing odd in the file metadata that would make it so much louder or all the others quieter. What can I do so these files play at the same volume as everything else?
Probably been asked before but as a new Sonos owner...how do I play music from the iCloud....my iPod touch which holds my library is not supported by sonos and my iPhone & iPad are only 16gb, so have no room to download anything to the device...guy in the shop said I could play from iCloud....if this is not the case then it will need to go back
What are your plans to introduce full (not using Airport Express) Airplay support on your speakers? I want to use Airplay directly to play audio on a Sonos system that has been recorded using eyeTV. Buying an Airport Express for each speaker is unacceptable to me. Thanks, Ben
Last few days noticed that BBC stream will suddenly stop every so often (e.g. R2 and R4) - definitely station issue as e.g. Jazz FM works fine. If I try to restart, service shows as playing (i.e. Start button changes to Stop button) but no audio whatsoever - meaning I've had to use Line In with BBC iPlayer to hear audio on a number of occasions. Anyone else seeing this?
Hi - I don't own an Sonos products as yet, but am seriously considering staring by buying a couple of Play:1 units and have a couple of simple questions but I've not been able to find an answers to: I have all my music on my main desktop computer (an iMac) - I understand that users have to import their music library into the Sonos app to access it on a Sonos system. That's fine, however... Question 1 - If I'm using my phone as a 'remote' from another part of the house...does the Sonos system require all my iTunes music to be actually ON my phone (i.e. using a huge chunk of memory) in order to access my library? Also... I'm hoping to be able to use the Play:1 speakers upstairs - possibly while others are using the iMac to listen to iTunes downstairs... (as noted above, I intend to use my iPhone to access and select music to play through the Play:1 speakers). Question 2 - Will other family members be able to listen to iTunes through the existing in built computer speakers on the i
I have tried to follow the instructions to add my music library or iTunes library to Sonos but when I select the "Manage" function in the Sonos menu all of the items are grayed out, meaning that I cannot select "Music Library Settings." See image attached. Please advise. Thanks.
Downloaded a track and imported it into iTunes and transferred to my phone, played thru sonos speakers/network unlocked my computer to allow Sonos access to iTunes on desktop tried playing song from desk top and now the song will not play from iPhone, iPad and Desktop. Sonos please make an easier workflow, this is absolutely ridiculous. I know Im not the only one complaining about your products performance and since I can't return this set up, I prefer to bitch until this is made more simple. And I don't bitch much. As a matter of fact of all the forums I'm participating in, this is a first time ever posting a nagging rant. thats how awful this workflow is. I see others posting the same. I'm not even asking for 7.1, 9.1, 9.1.2 or 22.2. Just make this shit easier. even if its more simple instructions during set up. I had to manually unlock my computers file sharing after allowing the Sonos walk thru access...I am beyond livid...how am I able to Play a song and literally 5 mins lat
When creating a large playlist it really irks me that I have to manually put the songs not alphabetical order. If I later add songs to it I manually have to put t in the right place, otherwise the control app just adds it to the end and f the list. Why do I need the playlist in alphabetical order? So that I can easily check what songs are already in the playlist and not double up on them. Manually putting songs into alphabetical order is a pain and can be very time consuming, so can this option (list song alphabetically) be configured into future control app development?
