Hey, I use my desktop PC using my 70 inch as a monitor as my main entertainment. I want to know if I can use SONOS to play everything from this computer and have the satellite speakers to play it also in different rooms. From what I am understanding from videos and the youtube thread, is that you are limited to only using these speakers with what is accessible through the provided app, and also from what your TV is outputting? Can someone help me out? I was hoping this would be my savior in having an almost wireless way to play all my music in different rooms of my house..
I'm really impressed by the speakers and basically the idea of the system. But what's really frustrating is the song-limit of almost 65k... Will (and when?) this be corrected somehow? This is the only (but heavy) obstacle for me to buy a sonos solution for almost every room in my house (by the way how many speakers can be connected AND is it working across 4 floors?). Lets assume this barriere is been gone some day - will the current speakers work in that "new" environment or does it means, that I need all new products? What products do I have to change? I really cannot understand why sonos is so bullish in this point - hopefully I get a positive answer (cause exept this issue I like it very much!) Thanks for any (positive) information!
I've been using Spotify Premium with our Sonos system fairly successfully for a few years now, until today. All of a sudden Spotify refuses to work through Sonos and even the Spotify app can no longer see our Sonos system. Running a iPhone XS with iOS 12.3, Sonos app version 10.2 and I've just updated our router firmware. Have tried several reboots of my phone, Sonos, and the router no no avail. I've also logged out of Spotify in Sonos and now when I try to add music services it says "no selections are available", despite the fact I'm listening to Apple Music, as a last resort. Diagnostic sent. 156 858 5985 Help!
I picked up a Play 3 and a Bridge this weekend and was amazed at how easy it setup and how great it sounded. So far i have only used Pandora and a few other stations on the Android App. I love it! I have not had the time to really jump into it but was wondering if someone could give me an idea where to start on how to access my 35,000 mp3 files i currently have on a external hard drive? Is it as simple as plugging into my computer and setting up the Sonos software on the computer? Sorry if this is such a "NOOB" question...just not sure where to begin!
I have read the forums and there is a patch for my problem. I have a playbar, sub, and 2 surround play 1s. I dont have surround audio with tv but I do have normal audio surround with music. I have read that there is a patch for my problem. My diagnostic number is 5608402
Hi. New to Tidal (but not Sonos) and have a simple question > In the Tidal settings is it best to select HiFi (lossless audio) or Master (the best audio experience)? I know that Sonos does NOT stream the Master Quality Audio (MQA) offered by Tidal … but will Master Quality work on Sonos (via Connects & Amps) so I can use it via other devices (i.e. get MQA on BlueSound Vault) or do I need to set it on HiFi (to get lossless Flac 16 bit/ 44.1kHz) on Sonos? The other way to ask this would be: Would Sonos automatically down sample the MQA hi-res files to CD-quality lossless? Thanks! Could not find answer anywhere in forum or via the Tidal FAQs.
I've stored all my personal music on OneDrive (more than 20K songs i.e. about 100Gb). I use to play this music using Groove and it worked perfectly. Also it has been very easy to stream the music directly to my SONOS system since Groove has been added among Sonos services. But GROOVE commercial service ended on December 31st. If we can't buy music from Groove anymore, I can still use Groove as a player (to enjoy my music on my phone or my PC for instance). But the SONOS - Groove integration is not working anymore ... In this context, does anyone has a solution to stream OneDrive Music to SONOS system ?
I’ve been having a weird issue with my sonos ones and amazon music. Playing any music and when a song ends, the next song starts...then stops...then beginning of the song that just finished starts, then stops, then another song starts and plays thru. If I skip songs...no problem, works fine. Apple Music on them works perfectly. I have echos etc all over the house, not a network issue. Only happening on sonos. Just started today, been working fine previously.
We are writing summer 2019 and still Sonos only supports SMB version 1 for the Music Library share. This is not acceptable. A file share running SMB1 is extremely vulnerable to all the variants of cryptolocker virus that exists today. File share servers (NAS, Windows, Apple OS) can only support one version of SMB - so you cannot from the same box have one file share (for Sonos) using SMB1 and the other file shares using SMB2 or SMB3. This way Sonos puts each and every file share at serious risc - just because they don’t update their file share protocol to comply with this century. And for the record - the “solution” through PLEX is not a solution. Unstable at best.
First post here, apologies if it has been posted before, I searched and could not find anything. Is it possible to sync/group Sonos and Chromecast so they play audio in sync? I have a couple of Play:5 around the house and a chromecast plugged in the TV feeding into an amp and speakers via toslink and thought it would be very nice to sync them all. I suspect the answer is no, and judging by what I read will never be a feature. If I want to do it, I am going to have to plug chromecasts into the line in and group the chromecasts. Thanks
While I’m streaming music from my Sonos app a song will sometimes play half way through and then skip to the next song! There’s no consistency, sometimes it’s 10 seconds in, sometimes close to the end! It’s starting to upset me a lot. Is there a fix or recommendation to keep this from happening?
I wanted to know all the free music service supported on Sonos. I mainly use Spotify, Google play and Pandora. It looks like Spotify needs premium subscription and Pandora free version works ?. Has anyone used Google Play free version to play artist radio stations from iPhone ? I found this on on the customer help page. "You can use Google Radio with a free account by playing from the Google Play Music app to Sonos (Android devices only)."
Hi. Firstly, excellent product. I would like to have an improved EQ. Ideally 4 band parametric - I assume that there is an in-built dsp chip which handles the bass and treble currently available. Since I imagine most people would be more used to a graphic eq, I suppose this would do. 31 band in that case please :) Next ZP I install will have a separate sub so the ability to adjust the crossover frequency would be handy too. Thanks, Jonathan.
I used to have a Bose dock in the bedroom which we used at night to play rainfall/thunderstorm sound while we were sleeping. (On iPhone with Sleep Machine app for anyone interested.) That setup started to get a bit sketchy with Lightning -> 30 pin adapter cable between the new phone and the old dock not always charging my phone, which coincided with my starting to collect Sonos gear. I added a Play:5 and an Airport Express using the "official" method of getting AirPlay support on Sonos. Mostly worked, but without fail, the AirPlay connection would cut out, sometimes even disconnecting outright, which was not ideal. Figured I'd take AirPlay out of the equation - given that there are a couple dozen or more wifi networks that overlap my house, sketchy performance from time to time isn't unexpected. Got a one month subscription to Calm Radio and figured Atmospheres would probably work. Unfortunately, the Play:5 bass response means a lot of the rain comes with thunder loud enou
I just noticed that Tidal displays “MASTER” now on MQA tracks where before it would kick down to “HIFI” - has SONAS started supporting MQA? my understanding before was that even if you were playing the master quality music, it would downgrade to hifi and this was reflected in the display. What changed? Audio Quality or just the display? i have two gen 2 Play 5s with the sub in my office. I enjoy the sound 😁 Thank you for any input!!!
I must say I am not happy about the lack of compatibility with Youtube. This for me is essential because I love to sing Karaoke on YouTube using a separate microphone and speaker and I cannot enjoy the sound of my Sonos speakers for this very important method of entertainment. I hope this post allows others to understand why this compatibility is so important because many in this forum have missed the point.
What are your plans to introduce full (not using Airport Express) Airplay support on your speakers? I want to use Airplay directly to play audio on a Sonos system that has been recorded using eyeTV. Buying an Airport Express for each speaker is unacceptable to me. Thanks, Ben
I have two problems: 1) All of my playlists wont download to Sonos - I can only see some 2) The information concerning my genres is not correct - whereas I have 13 genres on iTunes, I have many more on Sonos. How can I resolve these problems? Thank you.
I am just about ready to pull the trigger on buying some Sonos products for my home (either a pair of Play: 1 or a Play: 5) but it appears that they won't work with Overcast, the app I use to listen to podcasts? I prefer the features of Overcast over the Apple app, and have my subscriptions, play lists, etc. all set up in the app. So I don't want to have to change my podcast set-up just to work with Sonos. Do I have to move on and consider some other products, or am I missing a solution?
