So now that I have iOS 10, I've noticed in the new Apple Music app that Sonos is now a specialist curator and have lots of playlists. The irony being you can't actually use them on Sonos equipment because only the old Apple Music comes through the Sonos app. Will there be an update to Apple Music on Sonos and will it be this year ? I only ask because timely updates are not Sonos strong area.
Hi, Since the app update, when i'm trying to open my Apple Music playlists through Sonos it doesn't find any of the playlists and says: "we've run into a problem. Try again". I tried again, and again and it doesn't work. The sonos recognizes all the rest of the apple music options: artists, songs, etc. - but not the playlists that I use on apple music. Beside that, when I'm listening to Appke music through sonos, every few songs (randomly... it can be after one, two, three... songs), it stops and says it was unable to play that song from apple music... The diagnostic number is: 7925107 Thanks, Ido
Pandora just fed me a GLADE holiday scents ad right in the middle of two songs. I've never hear this prior and want to know who at Sonos and or Pandora decided to start forcing us to put up with LAME advertisements when for years it wasn't foisted on us. Yes every company wants to be profitable, but it would have been nice if Pandora or Sonos would have given us some practical notice before they changed their services.
A couple of days ago I went to play an album from my Apple Music library though my Sonos Connect, and could not find it. Looking more closely, I noticed that the “Albums” menu item only contains a tiny fraction of my music library - almost everything is missing. “Recently Added” and “Playlists” both look OK, but “Albums” is bad. I see the same on several controllers: Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad are all the same. Moreover, in the Windows application, when I visit “Albums”, I can browse it for a short time, and then the application terminates (the window just closes with no error message). My library looks perfectly fine in iTunes and the native Apple Music app. I left it a few days in case it was a transient effect but it persists. I have tried removing the Apple Music service from my system and reconnecting it afresh, but this does not help. I probably need a Sonos support case for this but the web site suggests that I try the forum first. I generated diagnostics 641008197 in case
I have owned several Logitech Squeezeboxes (Squeezeboxen? :) ) for many years, so I am familiar with the network music paradigm. I like the concept, but the Squeezebox has always been a tempermental device. From what I have seen at retail stores and what I have read and seen on the Internet, I have no doubt that Sonos is a better system. I would definitely buy several Sonos components, especially since they have removed the requirement for the Bridge component (they call it something else now) so that I don't have to buy something extra. In fact I went to the big box store yesterday with the intent of starting my Sonos collection by buying (2) Sonos Play: 1 speakers for my wife's office (her desk). We demoed a Play:1 and it sounded great. The day before she had actually purchased a Bose Revolve Plus for her desk, which also sounds great (but not quite as good as the Sonos Play 1: in my opinion.) So I told my wife, this Sonos does so much more than your Bose speaker. First,
So I've got a Synology NAS and a couple of Sonos speakers. Some day I got the stupid (!) idea to switch SMBv1 off and soon I found out that my Sonos stuff was unable to find my local music library. Of course I agree that Sonos should move to v2 or v3, but since there is no sign they will, even after the whole S2 operation, it seems we will have to solve this ourselves. I’ve seen the Raspberry pi solution here on the forum, but I didn’t want separate devices and I thought it should be possible to do the same with docker on the NAS itself. If you are not familiar with Docker yet: it is like running an extra machine (called “container”) on your NAS, a little bit like virtual machines, but easier and more lightweight. The container runs isolated on your NAS, it only gets the access to your NAS you grant it specifically. Docker is a standard package on Synology. It also has a nice “registry”: an app store where everyone can share their containers. So the idea is: run a container with SMB (S
I recently connected Sonos to the Spotify app. It was working fine, streaming via the Spotify app. Now when I go to 'devices' to choose Sonos as my device it just says 'CAN'T PLAY THIS RIGHT NOW' I've reconnected my spotify account and sonos account but still getting nowhere. Help please!!
For some reason, I cannot use the ‘My Music’ function of the Apple Music Service anymore. It displays “We’ve run into a problem. Try again.” I have deleted the app on all my devices, reinstalled. I’ve deleted the service and reauthorized. I’ve reset my router. Apple Music works fine. It’s only within the Sonos app that the error occurs. Please help. Family account if that matters, and both users experience this.
I know this question has been asked (but apparently not answered) previously, but I thought I’d try again. When listening to music directly through Apple Music on my Sonos speakers (via Airplay), I definitely notice improved quality with the new “lossless” quality offered by Apple. My ears, however, seem to think that the quality isn’t as high-fidelity when I listen to the same music via the S2 app (which, of course, is pulling the same music from my Apple Music subscription). However, I’m willing to admit that this perceived difference in quality may be psycho-somatic (since I’m still confused as to whether the S2 app is capable of accessing lossless files when it queries the Apple Music database).Any chance either Apple or Sonos have provided an authoritative answer to this question? I.e. when S2 streams a file from Apple Music, is Apple giving them access to the lossless files? Or is Apple reserving those files for customers who are using the Apple Music interface? (For what it’s wor
I am having trouble with my Sonos now for a few days. My system hasn't changed on my side for a few months. Only certain iHeartRadio channels seem to be experiencing the issue of cutting out then resuming a second or more later. I heart iheartcountry and hitnation among them. There seems to be no pattern to the cutout. Sometimes every second, then it works normally for a few minutes. Streaming from local devices or Google Play music has no issues. I have submitted a diagnostic number 6180729. Please help me if you can. Thanks!
I cannot get Spotify artist radio stations to play on my Sonos today. I can play other Spotify content, like a specific album. But the S2 app complains it cannot get songs for radio station. I’ve never had this problem before. I have reset everything with no benefit so far. Any ideas? Those artist radio stations play fine in the Spotify app. Just not through Sonos
I have created a diagnostic report, 122658598, within about 5 minutes of the spotify service dropping. It only drops for a brief moment, skips a song, and then it’s fine again for another half hour or so. Appreciate any help you can offer! Thanks, Chris Edit: I rebooted my router and changed the channel to 6. I will create another diagnostic if spotify drops out again.
Just got the intro bundle, and I am impressed. I did a search and did not find this suggested, but I would save Zone links as favorites. With only 2 ZPs it is not a problem yet, but when I add more it maybe. I would like to setup say Morning mode for the units I want in the morning and a preset volume between the units. Another example I would have 2 party modes, Summer and Winter. The Summer mode would include the deck speakers and the Winter mode would not. Also it would be nice to have playlists or radio station associated with each mode. So when I get up I press Morning the DI Chill radio station plays. Jeff
I was getting this error from time to time, but now I'm getting it on 3/4 of songs... Seems random, as sometimes a song that was working fine would refuse to play and start showing this error (or vice versa). My music source is YouTube Music. I've tried rebooting the speaker, reinstalling te app, rebooting the Wi-Fi router, etc. Also tried using an ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi. Nothing seems to work. Diagnostic number : 1167656549Screenshot :Thanks in advance!
