So I was going in to play some music and I get the message "your Apple Music account needs to be reauthorized, but one or more of your sonos products needs to be updated first. Please update your system and reauthorize you account" I have gone thru all updates and now how do I reauthorize my Apple Music? Not much in the way of options in the iOS app. Thanks!
There have been a few suggestions, but they were targeted toward a single problem (or single tag/format). This thread is for an official request for Sonos to support multiple values per tag as per officially defined specifications. Please add your support if this is something you would like Sonos to implement. I'm not sure there is much to debate, the file formats clearly lay out the specification. It's simply a case of Sonos supporting multiple values (or not). Note that this thread is not recommending some bespoke implementation, or a particular user's idea of how it should be done, using rules or preferences, or complex strings (if X is Y and A is B etc). It's a case of just supporting the format as officially specified. My hope is that the Sonos library index is not a flat file, but a relational data structure. If it's the latter, it's not impossible to add multiple values per track (one-to-many relationship). Database normalization for the developers out there. If
Hi My Sonos setup continually skips songs. They are on the device I'm playing the music from but randomly, midway through the song, it skips to the next song in the queue. Anybody any ideas? I have a Bridge that connects directly to my router. I've submitted a diagnostic #7323334 Cheers
I just published an Instructable showing how to add an aux line-in to Sonos using a Raspberry Pi. I use it primarily to listen to an over-the-air radio station that's not available online but it is perfect for adding a turntable to Sonos... https://www.instructables.com/id/Add-Aux-to-Sonos-Using-Raspberry-Pi/
Whats the best way to add a microphone to the sonos system that is loud enough for a major event? We use the sonos system for our business and love it but we would love to be able to use it during an up coming event we are having. What Do you suggest for plugging in a microphone of some sort and how would you suggest connecting everything? Being a large event and facility,we need it to be as loud as our music which is amazingly loud.
I know this is always going to be a personal preference, but does anyone have any advice or pros / cons of different services? I was going to sign up for Spotify Premium just for the Sonos access, but have seen a lot of threads complaining about the lack of functionality in the Sonos implementation of the Spotify app, particularly the lock of Spotify Radio support. What about Rdio, Deezer and others? I am based in Sweden so Last.fm and US only services are currently out of reach :-( I could just sign up for each one for a month and test drive them but I'd love to hear the thoughts and recommendations of the Sonos community!!
Pretty much all file formats now support ratings within the tags / metadata. These tags allow a user to rate songs, generally on a 1-5 scale. I would like to see Sonos add some features to support song ratings. Here is what I'd like to see: -Ability to view rating of song currently being played (perhaps 5 light-colored stars somewhere on the display with 3 of them filled-in with a darker color for a song with a ranking of 3). -Ability to modify song ranking using the Sonos controller when it is being played (similar to the TiVo "Thumbs Up" and "Thumbs Town" feature). -Ability to sort by song ranking (to play your favorite songs or to play/rank ones that are not rated). -Ability to have a playlist automatically generated based on rankings and an additional criteria (genre, artist, playlist size, etc.). I think these features would make it easier to listen to your music collection without searching through it song by song trying to build a specific playlist. I've noticed th
Has anyone succeeded in using a Synology as a music server for Sonos players ? I know you can connect direct to the Music share on the Synology, but that is subject to a limit on the number of tracks/songs. I want to use the Synology as a music server that my Sonos players can connect to. I have both the Synology Media Server and the Synology Logitech Media Server set up and succesfully detected by my PC music player (Media Monkey for Wndows). My Sonos can see the Media Monkey media server, but the Sonos cannot see either of the two Synology media servers. Has anyone got this working ?
Tried using Sonos with Golden Master of Catalina and its a no go. When I add my music library on an external drive it does so normally but NO songs in the folder are recognized. Wonder if it has to do with Music being the new app for music instead of iTunes?I was able to see music added if it was on the internal drive of the machine.
Hi guys, On the iPhone APP I can choose what quality I want to stream the music. I have the HiFi Subscription and should be able to stream TIDAL HiFi - Lossless FLAC 16bit/44.1kHz. (Flac 1411 kbps - Lossless). Do I need to do something to be able to stream on that quality? Does SONOS support the 1411 kbps Stream? Is there a way to check how many kbps is being sent to SONOS? Thanks guys!
It is my understanding that I should be able to simply select "on this phone" and "podcasts" to locate podcasts I have subscribed to through the Apple podcast app. However, it says that I have no podcasts. Customer service tells me that the only way to play podcasts is to download them from itunes, which I know is not true. I set up my parents' speakers last week and simply subscribed to a podcast through the Apple Podcast app and was able to make it play. Can anyone tell me why I am unable to do this?
Got my Beam today. Got it hooked up to the TV via the provided optical to HDMI cable. Sounds great. Also got it linked to services like Spotify, and I tested playing via AirPlay from my phone, and registered it as a device with our Amazon Echo. Everything works and sounds great. And switching between AirPlay, a built-in service, or Alexa control is as easy as simply pressing play on that method or using the voice control. What I can’t figure out is how you switch back to the TV as the sound source gracefully without using the app, and also while maintaining the previous volume level. If you’re playing Spotify then you go to the Sonos app and return the source to “TV”, the volume control is no longer accurately linked to what the level on the TV thinks it is. So I used the tv remote to turn the volume down all the way but the Beam still had sound coming out. So then I had to use the Sonos app to turn the volume down the rest of the way, at which point the Beam was actually playing the l
This topic form is intended to uncover the truth about what Sonos products (if any) actually support Hi-Res audio (ex. 24bit/192KHz, DSD, MQA). Further more I would like to exclude personal opinions about PDM (pulse-density modulation) vs DSD (the format used by in SACD). Weather you can hear the difference between a 256k AAC version vs a uncompressed 24bit or DFS file is worthy discussion, but just not on this topic. Again I would really like to understand what Sonos is doing or planning to do to support Hi-Resolution audio. There is a flood of Hi-Res content being released from master studio recordings. This trend is on the rise.
For playing podcasts, I can think of three ways in which it might work: (i) Using iTunes/MediaMonkey/etc, one downloads podcasts regularly, and Sonos sees it just like any other media file (and so, I guess, it appears in the Music Library) (ii) Play the podcast from iTunes on an iPad/iPod/iPhone as a source for Sonos (iii) Sonos accesses the web in order to retrieve and play podcasts. Option is the most attractive to me - is (iii) possible, and if so how is it done? If (iii) is not possible, does anyone use route (i), and if so how? Thank you
I understand that SonosNet is allegedly superior to Wi-Fi/AirPlay for streaming.. but I hope Sonos re-considers the decision to not implement AirPlay. Now with AirPlay 2 supporting HomeKit integration, I really do not desire purchasing a Sonos Connect & Airport Express for every room in order to stream to all of my Sonos speakers outside of the Sonos app and tie-in to HomeKit.
Pandora just fed me a GLADE holiday scents ad right in the middle of two songs. I've never hear this prior and want to know who at Sonos and or Pandora decided to start forcing us to put up with LAME advertisements when for years it wasn't foisted on us. Yes every company wants to be profitable, but it would have been nice if Pandora or Sonos would have given us some practical notice before they changed their services.
