Is there anywhere I can get updates on the issue that has been going on for nearly a week now?I have Apple Music added via the Sonos App however, It is constantly asking me to re-authorise Apple Music. I have done this a few times and ends up saying “Unable to browse music”.Service Status Page indicated no issues with Apple Music (there is a partial outage in my opinion). Been told a few times on chat “Use an iOS device”, I don’t have one and shouldn’t have to have one, to be able to use the services fully.
Hello everybody,I have a problem when trying to play music on my Sonos roam via the Spotify app on my phone, all done with wifi. The roam speaker and the phone are both connected to the same wifi and are updated (roam system and spotify app) to the latest version. When asking the voice assistant to play music on spotify it works fine. The problem arises though when I am listening to some music on my phone, and I want to transfer it to my roam speaker. I can see the device on spotify connect, but when I click to link it it just remains on “connecting...” and never really connects, so I can’t control roam via my app, but just with google assistant.I found out that if put music on the roam speaker using spotify on my laptop then it works fine, and once roam is playing I can see it also on my spotify app. This kind of a workaround lets me use the mobile app to play music on the roam speaker if selected from playlists, but for some reason it doesn’t let me play music from the popular songs in
There have been a variety of posts in the community before with people having consistent issues with Stingray Music over the years. For those who loved the music service but hated the repeated issues with it, thus eventually giving up on them (like I did), I’d highly recommend that you add the Stingray Music service back again and give them another try. I’ve been trying them for the past couple of weeks and the service has been super rock solid, better than they have ever been in the past. Seems like someone finally got serious on their end and fixed all of their backend incompatibility issues with Sonos.
Hey I’m sure this has been asked before but having spent some time searching the forums I can’t find a definitive answer. Can I play Apple Music Lossless audio through my Sonos system? My understanding is that this isn’t possible through the S2 app, but does this work via Airplay? ThanksRex
Hi All,Today I was a bit experimenting with the Qobuz app. I like using the Qobuz app more than the S2 app to be honest. But with the Qobuz app I need to use AirPlay 2. Is the streaming quality the same as using the S2 app? I can’t tell the difference to be honest 🙄Qobuz is claiming to do 24-bit 48 kHz on the Sonos system (if the source is also in that particular quality, if higher, it will get downscaled to 16-bit 44,1 kHz) Should airplay2 deliver the same quality?
I have just managed to resolve this issue with technical support as a workaround until the permanent fix is deployed and the steps are as follows:Using an iOS Device from a Friend, Relative or Neighbour.Connect their device to your Wi-Fi network. Download the Sonos App Download Apple Music (if not already downloaded) On the iOS Device click Settings > Their Apple ID > Media & Purchases > Sign Out Launch the Sonos App Click Join Existing System Login to your Sonos ID Click on Apple Music in the Sonos App Click Re-authorise Follow the journey in Apple Music. On the iOS Device click Settings > Their Apple ID > Media & Purchases > Sign OutThen your Friend, Relative or Neighbour can sign back into Media & Purchases. Finally uninstall the Sonos App
I’ve read several similar issues but there doesn’t seem to be a resolution so thought I’d ask. Sonos reads the music library from my Western Digital MYCloudEX2Ultra NAS, all the files are there from a sync between my Mac iTunes library and my NAS. Been using this method for several years without issue. Recently, probably the past couple of weeks, when I open the iPhone app or the Mac app, the library has disappeared and a music index update is needed to get the files back. As I said, never had this issue before, and have been linking to the same NAS for several years. I’ve checked and there is only one path in the library setup and the NAS is on 24/7. Anyone know why this has started happening?ThanksMartin
Here's a solution I recently tested and discovered to be effective! I've mentioned it as a *idea* since I believe SONOS might provide a similar solution, unless (of course) licencing constraints prevent them from doing so without Apple's approval. (I'm not sure... just speculating here.)On your Mac, this software solution instals a "airplay" driver that points to one of your Sonos units. Once installed, you may utilise it in three simple steps.Step 1) Launch a terminal (command prompt) and enter airsonos. This activates the driver.Do not end the session. It is acceptable to minimise the window.Step 2) Select the Sonos as the sound output in the Mac's "System Preferences...", "Sound" menu. Now, play some music on your Mac and increase the volume such that the sound emanates from your Sonos" rather than your Mac. There are no wires. There is no fuss.Step 3) Smile from ear to ear as any and all Mac sound wirelessly streams to your Sonos!
I’ve got a library with about 35k FLAC tracks (stereo 44.1/16 bit) and when pointing Sonos at the library, it appears to do all the right stuff, including asking me to enter my credentials since this library in my Mac, but not in the generic music folder. But it never indexes a single song. And it doesn’t throw any errors. Drive is connected directly to the Mac in question. (System is all S2; checked for updates to controller and players, and there are none available.) What else can I check?
I’ve been trying to install the Libby service for the last 24 hours with a consistent issue: I kept getting the error message, “unable to browse music.” I keep removing and reading, giving it awhile, then checking. Same result. Any ideas? I’ve tried to unplug speakers and plug back in.
I’m looking at purchasing a Synology DS120J 1 bay NAS System with 1x 3Tb WD Red HDD to use as storage for all my music CDs (a mix of standard and SACD formats). I would like to connect the Synology NAS to my Sonos system which is made up of 5 Sonos ZP120 Amps and 1 Sonos ZP90 Zone Player in order to play my music throughout the house via the Sonos App.Could you please advise if this setup will work for me.
Hi everobody,i sold my receiver and my Klipsch speakers. But i kept my turntable, my phono preamp, my Sonos connect, my Sonos play 1 and 3. I wanna play my turntable in my speakers thru my connect. I read this article When i had my receiver, my turntable was grounded to my preamp and my preamp was grounded to my receiver. So my question his: do i have to ground my preamp to my connect? Because there his no ground on the connect. Thank you.
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing issues with Sonos Music Library and the Synology NAS becoming unresponsive or very sluggish, or with random speakers disappearing from the S2 app. I recently enabled the Music Library feature in Sonos (before the 13.4.1 update in Dec 2021 which introduced SMB3 support). At that time, I configured my Synology NAS to use SMB1 to allow the connection to work. I was on DSM Version: 7.0.1-42218 and running S2 13.3.2. Somewhere around 11/25/21, my Synology started going offline and become unresponsive. I was running a DS1517+ with 2GB of RAM and noticed that the SMB process was eating a lot more RAM than usual. Also, started seeing thousands of connections from the Sonos speakers, multiple times for each speaker. My Sonos updated to 13.4, but the issue still remained.I opened a case with Synology and they determined that the Sonos speakers were opening hundreds of connections per speaker and leaving the connections open. This was slowly draining the me
My Amazon music app shows grayed out queue button and the option to add to queue on each song option is gone whenever I’m connected to a Sonos speaker. In order to add something to queue I have to disconnect, add to queue, then reconnect. Not a huge deal and I know I could just create another playlist but seemed weird and the queue feature is kinda nice so I was hoping it’d work smoother. Anyone experience something similar ? Is it an amazon issue ?
Added YouTube Music to the app and it says "No Selections Available". Why? My YT account is fine and verified twice now.
So I have installed Sonos app twice now. Setting up my new Move took over an hour because the app refused to believe my router was actually functioning (another story, but relevant as the app gives misleading info a lot). Anyway, then I go onto adding services and all goes well until my paid YouTube Music account is added. I added it twice (using the whole code paste in and authorizing my Google account) and it went through each time. YouTube was successfully added. But whenever I go into YouTube Music from Sonos, it say “No Selections are Available”. Like why??????? I go onto Youtube and verify I have hundreds of playlists. All my other services work. And before someone answers from a Customer Service script and tells me to reinstall everything and reboot my router...no. Just no. I want actual advice about why Sonos is not reaching youTube. Is there a setting in YouTube or is the app just that flawed where I can look forward to playing YouTube via Bluetooth only? This is wh
