Hi, l have been a Sonos user since 2005 and lost all my playlists yesterday… My family is devastated so I hope someone can help me restore them. I was changing a router and factory reset all my Sonos one units and this seems to have erased all my history. I thought my settings were tied to my user account in the cloud...I do own some old ZP100 that I was still using 6 months ago, co-existing with some Sonos One units in my old network before I moved house. Is there a way I can use those to recover my playlists? I would be very grateful if someone has a solution. Thanks a lot!
Who is the genius that decided that Sonos wireless speakers were to be used ONLY for listening to music? I watch videos on my Mac, playing them through VLC. Having received my two Play:3 speakers today, I set everything up only to realise that I couldn't stream the audio from VLC to my speakers. How pathetic is that? Yes, I have seen the post where you jump through hoops, installing this, installing that (during a blue, full moon) only to find that the audio will be out of sync with the video. Great going Sonos. You should hang your head in shame. I will NOT be buying the 2 Play:5 speakers I was planning to. Bose store in Melbourne, here I come! Thanks for letting me vent.
Playing through an original Connect to my standalone stereo system. While playing a playlist or favorited album, about 10 seconds into a track, playback stops, there is an error that the *next* track can't be played because connection to Spotify was lost, and playback resumes with the one following that. If I tap on the first track in this sequence of three, it resumes playing flawlessly. This never happens with the first song in the queue. Since the third track in the sequence always plays fine, or the first one if I select it, this seems to rule out a legitimate network or wifi error?
I can only assume this is as a result of a recent Sonos update as everything was working perfectly until recently and I updated the Sonos software in the last few days. Whenever I try and access my music library (via samba) it fails with "access denied". I've checked the samba setup and am able to successfully mount the share on my desktop using the same credentials and network details - so it looks as though the samba side of things is set up OK. Is anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions on how I might resolve it?
Sonos only offers one radio service in the UK, it is called Tune In. Tens of thousands of UK Sonos customers access the Tune In radio service daily via Alexa. BBC has now terminated Tune In/Alexa access to their services. Tune In/Sonos app selection of BBC radio stations is ok, but less convenient than Alexa voice control. Tune In/Alexa on Amazon Echo still works, but we invested in Sonos to enjoy the sound quality. Surely lack of a solution will quickly and directly impact UK Sonos sales? There are several active user threads discussing the issue but no real solutions. What is Sonos doing to restore access to BBC radio services in UK via Alexa?
AirPlay with YouTube Version 13.39.10 on iOS 12.0.1, Video with watermark „connected with AirPlay“ when streaming to Play:5 via AirPlay
I am experiencing a weird problem since I upgraded my iPad (2018) and iPhone (8 plus) to iOS 12.0.1 and the YouTube Apps on both devices to Version 13.39.10. When streaming Audio to my two Play:5 via AirPlay I got now a watermark „connected with AirPlay“ in the YouTube App. Next to that the Video is washed out and there‘s an picture of the first frame of the Video as some kind of overlay on the Video. Looks like YouTube does not recognize that I just want to stream Audio. It behaves like I am streaming to a TV or at least I am streaming Audio AND Video. Think the problem was introduced with YouTube Version 13.39.10 after upgrading iOS 12 to 12.0.1. I have also an iPhone X (on iOS12) which YouTube Version 13.37.8, there everything is still working as expexcted, so Video can be watched on the iPhone while Audio is being streamed to the Play:5 via Airplay. Can anybody confirm that problem running the latest YouTube Version on iOS? Next to that I am wondering to whom I ne
Was a happy Sonos SL customer for 5 months. Amazon Unlimted, pressed the Airplay icon and selected the button for “dining room” and away it went. Hours and hour of perfect streaming and the speakers worked great. Last Friday I get a new ISP and new network name and could not get the SONOS speaker to join the new WLAN. Was on the phone with SONOS tech support for an hour and had to reset the speakers to factory and install SONOS S1 app. Now I can’t use Airplay from the Amazon App and have to use the S1 App to get the SONOS speakers to work. Its like SONOS has decided that they want to make me use their App to access my Amazon music. I want it to work like it used to work. Was this caused by a new release of SONOS? Not the end of the world but dammit. I liked it the way it was and I find the user interface on Amazon better than SONOS.
I have not been able to find any info here that shows me how I can save a playlist to my PC, I have to uninstall sonos as I believe the download was corrupted. When I migrated my music folders to sonos, it appeared as though not all the music came over, so I want to do a clean uninstall and reinstall a new download, but I would like to be able to save my playlist to my PC if this is possible, any advice would be welcome.
I have just managed to resolve this issue with technical support as a workaround until the permanent fix is deployed and the steps are as follows:Using an iOS Device from a Friend, Relative or Neighbour.Connect their device to your Wi-Fi network. Download the Sonos App Download Apple Music (if not already downloaded) On the iOS Device click Settings > Their Apple ID > Media & Purchases > Sign Out Launch the Sonos App Click Join Existing System Login to your Sonos ID Click on Apple Music in the Sonos App Click Re-authorise Follow the journey in Apple Music. On the iOS Device click Settings > Their Apple ID > Media & Purchases > Sign OutThen your Friend, Relative or Neighbour can sign back into Media & Purchases. Finally uninstall the Sonos App
I’m in the same boat as the poster in a previous thread here (unfortunately never received an answer). I’ve checked all the USB settings on the router side and everything looks normal, showing that USB is being shared. I’ve tried two different USB devices and the result is the same. How can I determine the correct path to enter into the Sonos app to get this set up as my Music Library? Thanks-
I love Sonos, I've been using it for my home theatre setup for the past year and it's been great. Very convenient. I decided to take advantage of the sale over the last few days and pick up a Play:1 for our kitchen, as I do a lot of cooking and spend a lot of time there. I was really disappointed to see that despite the integration with SiriusXM and their On Demand features, I am unable to seek through an episode. Many shows are over 4 hours long (like the Howard Stern Show) and I listen throughout the day. This makes it almost useless to me, since when I get home, I have to start the 4 hour episode over instead of starting from where I left off like the rest of SiriusXM works. It would be great if you guys could allow us to scrub/seek through a SiriusXM show episode, or even allow us to control the sound from the SiriusXM app (just like Sonos or Pandora).
Recently connected a Sonos connect to a higher class hifi equipment. We tried Spotify Premium and were kind of disappointed with sound quality. Its not that some compression artifacts are audible but it sounds rather dull, as if somebody lowered mids. Not very clear sound. Some songs had also distortion on bass, like if somebody recorded it with too high volume. To outrule hardware influences, a CD was converted to flac and i couldnt find any real difference between CD and the flac on Sonos. Maybe 1% but Spotify against CD was much much higher. As it was already clear to me that hardware makes no real difference todays in such price class, except speakers itself have much more influence but they were not changed. The only thing left could be hidden Equalizer settings. Is the sound quality really so bad with Spotify? The Sonos Connect was connected over WIFI . I cannot imagine that it would be too slow for 2 channel compressed audio. Unfortunately i cannot compare Spotify on
consider focus@will for music service addtion. This new service which I'm trying out through my home office desktop speakers (e.g. not Sonos) claims to help you focus on work. Claim to have research backed music scores that help focus. I've been trying this out for a few days and it seems to really work. Would like to stream it through sonos obviously. I'll suggest sonos to the folks at focus@will as well.
I'm setting up Plex on my Sonos system but have noticed that there are some problem with this. By what I have read it looks like the Sonos system needs the source to come from the Internet. I will be posting on the Plex community and my Routers community form to resolve this issue. Basically what happens is that you are able to look at your media files up to the point of playing them than you get an error that the file play the file as it is unavailable. I removed and added the service back and now it can’t even find any files. What I’m after is finding out how Sonos communicates with Plex and if I need any special ports are required. Cheers
Spotify, I recently had an email that stated that Spotify is now free to my mobile apps, and sure enough Spotify works on my Ipad. If I connect my Ipad to the Line in of my Play5 I can now play any track from Spotify, around my network. So why can I not configure Spotify on my Sonos without having to have a Premium Account now?. Is this something that is likely to be available soon? Thanks
