high quality connection mac (apple Music files) to Sonos Gen 1

I have a large library of original CD files ripped onto my hard drive and in Apple Music (formerly iTunes) The files are all in lossless format. I have (4) Gen One Connect Amps.  What is the best and highest fidelity way for me to connect the Mac and Sonos?

article above discusses adding Apple music library to Sonos. I have done this for years, it works fine. However, when I access my music files this way, I lose the Apple Genius function. I’d like to be able to use that function (or for Sonos to add this feature to its controller software). Any thoughts?

Sonos has never really used iTunes at all. It's really just using files and standard playlist files from the library folder. So I wouldn't hold your breath on anything more than that.

The recommendations above are the standard way of doing this.

If you’re playing music while using your Mac, you could also choose to run AirConnect [1] on the Mac, and use AirPlay to send the audio to your Connect:Amp devices. AirConnect is an open source AirPlay → Sonos bridge (as well as supporting other networked audio devices), and it will retain the full audio quality of your lossless files.

Using AirPlay means you can just use iTunes / Apple Music as your audio app, retaining Genius functionality, etc.
