Can't get Proton Radio to work

I’ve been listening to Proton Radio via TuneIn for a couple of years, without problems. But it has stopped working. The station is still operating, and I can stream directly from the website via my MacBook and Airplay. But I’d rather stream directly to my Sonos system. I already tried “Add Radio Station” without success.

I also tried MyTuner and Sonos Radio, but I can’t get it to work. This is the URL:

https://www.protonradio.com

Note: this is about “Proton Radio” and not “Radio Proton”. The two are unrelated.

Under TuneIn in the Sonos app, go to “My Radio Stations” and tap the “...” on the top right corner and select “Add New Radio Station”. Use this URL and it should work:

http://www.protonradio.com/proton.m3u

That’s it! I was missing the “m3u” part. But it’s working now. Thank you.

Worked, but todsy it isn't working anymore

Same here. Streaming http://www.protonradio.com/proton.m3u through the browser works, but it won’t stream on Sonos anymore.

It seems very variable… right now I have the station playing on my Sonos and I did get my 7am alarm call to wake me up with Proton, but I have been unable to get the station to play 99 times out of 100 this past week.

Really not sure what the issue is here… it plays sometimes but not every time… anyone hazard a guess as to why?!

Still working today, so hopefully the outage was just a weird blip.  Very pleased to have Proton back on in my house!

And today it is back to being unavailable...

Still not working… but for anyone who normally listens to Proton Radio, I can highly recommend Sonica Club radio.  Good alternative and has a bunch of the same shows plus some excellent music of its own.

I contacted Sonos Tech Support. They could reproduce the problem on their system, and created a ticket for the issue. So it will be investigated by Sonos engineers sooner or later.

As a workaround, I can stream to Safari on my laptop and AirPlay to my Sonos. Not ideal, but it will do for now.

This is the URL:https://www.protonradio.com/proton.m3u

It is incredibly frustrating how sporadic it is.  I can get Proton to stream at will on some of my Sonos speakers in the house today, but others just refuse.  No rhyme or reason, just seems random.

At least Sonos tech support is now aware of the problem. That is a step in the right direction.

Thank you for opening this topic. I love the sets on Proton. Please try following URL:

Sorry that link doesn’t work on Sonos but this one works for me:
