Life with Sonos
Life with Sonos. How do you get the most out of your Sonos system? Got any Sonos tips to share?
How could I use my Sonos Play1 speakers for my Sony HD TV output? My DirecTV box is connected directly to the same router as the Sonos bridge, but not sure how to make the connection thru the router or do I need another direct cable between the DirecTV box or TV and Sonos Bridge? My Sony TV has built-in WiFi also thru the same router could that be utilized somehow? I currently use its optical audio output to an external speaker, is that a possibility? Stumped
Hi - have a problem with only one speaker working - both are set up and display, however only one plays music, yesterday the issue was that although both speakers were set to work on one setting -which it is - ( Itunes) - one was working independently - also a phantom 3rd speaker has appeared - it's not set up of course but i'd like it removed - might be affecting this too. Have unistalled, reinstalled and made sure that the sonos is running through the wireless properly too help with this issue would be great can send diagnostics
Hi Recently I bought an additional Sub and Play 1 and grouped it with my existing Play 5 (Gen 2). However, I have been getting the message "Connection to Apple Music was lost" very frequently. This is the diagnosis number: 7024002 Are you able to help me out on this? Thanks. Regards JunHao, Ong
I am using an iPad 4 to control my music and have a iPhone/iPod docked. When playing from either the iPhone 3GS or iPod nano 6th gen the art work does not show up on the iPad, is there something I am missing?
Our house is fully equipped with SONOS hardware. Now that the kids are growing older and learn how to use the SONOS themselves I see that this can easily being misused. My oldest daughter is very much into audio books at the moment and she is listening through SONOS all day long. Sometimes I think a bit too much. Would be great to introduce a quota time for the usage of room configs. Similar to the quota for internet usage on routers. I'm interested to hear some opinions.
Sonos thx. for creating the Android Mobile Device streaming capability the only thing it needs now it the Folder View. Music genres, etc. are nice for iPhone folks but I (and possibly most Android users) like to categorize/organize my music (on my mobile device) into folders. Allowing parent level (down thru sub) folder playback would be icing on the cake. Similar to what the desktop/mobile controllers currently have (Music Library\Folders). Please add this capability to the next Android Mobile Device streaming update.
So I have a Sonos system (2 x play 1 & 1 x play 3 + bridge) which I use with my own library and Apple music. Since going with Apple Music I am experiencing some odd problems and am yet to resolve them so any advice / guidance would be appreciated. I am not certain all the issues are Apple Music related but it behaves differently to my own library. Issue 1 - My bridge crashes my network on my new Asus router. I've seen this is a known issue and the advice is a firmware upgrade however my firmware on the router is up to date. So I am currently unable to use the bridge and am running using the sonos-net Issue 2 - Apple music will only play to one play 1 in one room. If I try to play to the other two devices i get "unable to add to queue". However (it get's weird) if I then group the other rooms i get apple music in all rooms. If I ungroup the original room everything stops. I can however play my library (from an iphone or ipad) in all rooms as I choose. Issue 3 - Apple music wil
The Music folder on my hard drive at home contains 112,000 mp3 files, mostly consisting of ripped CD tracks, and all legally purchased. I have Sono installed on my home system but in order to use my library I have had to upload filed to Amazon Music and access that through my Sonos system. Not only is thiis a pain, but sound quality is compromised. iTunes handles my whole library no problem. Is Sonos ever going to be upgraded so it will handle my entire library? Dean
This is my first post. I have a large open floor plan (700 sq feet) and I'm trying to create an equally high quality soundstage around the room. My setup sounds good however I find that the volume of grouped speakers is not consistent (probably due to using different speakers). By this I mean, that when sitting in the middle of the space, volume has to be adjusted for specific speakers in the group so that it sounds even. As a result, I have to adjust the volume on individual speakers in the group so that volume from one side of the room isn't noticeably louder than the other. All speakers sound good. I've taken advice from the Sonos Community in choosing my setup. I currently have the highly recommended play 1 pair and sub on one end of the room (living room area) and a single play 5 gen 2 on the other end (kitchen). The play 5 volume always needs to be increased so that it is not over powered by the play 1 pair and sub. This is true although I am sitting slightly closer
I have a Playbar linked to a Sub. I am considering adding a couple of Play 3s to use in that same room for music only (and dedicate the Playbar for home theater only). How hard is it to reassign the Sub to the Play 3s during those times I want to play music, then reassign it back to work with the Playbar when I want to watch TV instead? What are the steps?
I have a Playbar in my family room and a Sonos Play: 1 in my kitchen, which is connected to the family room. Can I sync the audio between the two? I see how to create a "Stereo Pair" but that appears to only work if i have two Sonos Play: 1's and want to create surround sound. I simply want to hear the same audio(ex football game) in both speakers.
I purchased my first Sonos speaker, Play: 5. I plugged it into the router and followed set up instructions. Entered my wi-fi network and password. Received message that Sonos was now connected to my network. Played music. As soon as I unplugged the speaker from router, the speaker tried to connect and could not. I have tried all suggested fixes. Restarting router, Advanced Setup, nothing works. The speaker will not connect and play music unless it is plugged into router.
hello sonos community. we have a pretty simple setup. A Sonos play 1 and a bridge. We are able to connect via pur iphones. For some reason two days ago, the Wifi connection for our Sonos just stopped appearing in our settings. Any idea what might be happening? everything is plugged in and we didn't tamper with anything. We've tried to follow some re-setup steps, but nothing's working. Thoughts??
