Hello

I have Beam 2nd Gen paired with two Ikea Symfonisk as surrounds.

Those work properly by themselves, even as stereo pair, also I'm able to set them in a separate room and play music in both living room and symfonisks' room at the same time.

But, when I set them as surrounds, even if the process is done fine, all the steps of the app properly done and they appear as set as surrounds... They don't sound, not in 5.1 films, nor in surround music.

I have spatial music activated, surround music activated…volume is high enough.

The buttons of the symfonisks work, so I can control volume of the beam up and down from the Symfonisk.

I have reset all the speakers to factory reset and tried a fresh connection. Same results.

I tried to connect one of the speakers through RJ45 but still no sound and also, it's weird that I buy wireless speakers and I have to use them connected to the router with a cable.

I have not been able to find solutions on internet

What could be the solution?

Thanks a lot

Did you factory reset the Beam too, or just the two surrounds?

Is the Beam wired or wireless? If it’s wired, have you perhaps disabled the WiFi adapters on the Beam, only that option needs to be enabled to communicate with non-wired surrounds.

If you are continuing to have issues, having reset the Beam and ensuring it’s WiFi adapters are enabled, then it maybe best to reproduce the issue(s) seen and immediately submit a Sonos system diagnostic report from within the Sonos App, note it’s reference and contact/chat with Sonos Support Staff via this LINK and see what the Staff can perhaps suggest to help you to resolve the matter.

What model TV is the Beam connected to? Is the Beam wired with an ethernet cable?

Hi again

Everything has been factory reset, including Beam.

Everything set up as Wireless, no ethernet cables connected.

TV is a Phillips with ARC and Dolby 5.1 output.

Music streamed via Spotify directly into the Beam.

I have run system diagnostics and will send them support when they are available (it's too late now in my country 😁)

Thank you!

Make sure the Digital Out Format setting on the TV is set to Multichannel (bypass). Then test using a 5.1 audio source.

Hi

Yes, it's properly set up, and Sonos app shows that is receiving 5.1 signal. Also, when it's not a 5.1 signal, it shows PCM, so I understand that signal coming from TV changes depending on the content (which as it should be) and that Sonos identify those changes of signal.

Thank you for exploring options for me :)
