Hello, I couldn’t find a similar topic yet. I currently own a Beam Gen 2 which I am very happy to have. I will be moving in a few months where my living room will be bigger. We’ll be watching movies from about 4 meters in a room that’s about 20 m2, maybe a little less. We’ll be listening to music as well. Should I 1: sell my beam gen 2 and buy an arc, and in a few years add a sub (mini) and 2 one’s for a surround system? This will take me some time though. 2: buy a sub (or sub mini) immediately and later 2 one’s for surround. Maybe to ask a simpler question if above is not clear, since I’m actually asking a few questions at the same time: Is a Beam Gen 2 sufficient with a sub? Or is an Arc better? I can add a sub later probably but this will take me a year or two. I also am in doubt between a sub or sub mini. I have difficulty choosing. Hopefully I’m not making this too complicated. Thanks a lot!
I recently found a Beam 2, the since it's perfect for my apartment. But the volume level seem to differ greatly between different apps in my TV. I have an LG C2 and the volume is fine when I use the TV speakers and Bose speakers I previously used as well. I'm using the in built apps in the TV.For Netflix I need around 50, hbo Max around 30, whereas YouTube needs only 15. It makes it almost impossible to use the speaker as the volume becomes too loud when I switch apps, that neighbors start complaining. Is there any setting I can use to fix this? I really like the speaker but I can't use it if there is no fix for this.
I have a Philips 50PUS7505/12 and just purchased a Beam Gen 2 which is connected via HDMI ARC.I have set the TV settings to allow CEC and ARC on. I have set Philips TV to Multichannel (Bypass) and everything is working perfectly from my Fire TV 4K Max. however every so often, I think when I play Dolby atmos films on fire tv apps (Apple TV app, Netflix’s, Disney Plus) , I lose all sound through the beam. the only way to get sound back is to switch TV multichannel off and back on again. it works and the. Couple days off again. Is this a known issue?is this because I have ARC HDMI and not EARC?is this a Philips Issue, Fire TV Issue or Sonos. please help
I have a Move, Roam SL, Play 1, and two Play 3’s connected to my home wifi (5g) but the Beam Gen 2 won’t connect. It doesn’t even see the network. I’ve been through tech support 3 times and the Beam still won’t see or connect to the network even after I manually put in the network name and password. The Beam is a new device.Anyone have any suggestions?
I just purchased a RAY Soundbar. I have existing Play:1 paired on the same WIFI network. I'm looking to add surrounds to the RAY. When I try to break the stereo pair, only one speaker is shown as available to the RAY. How do I break the pair on the other speaker? Should I simply reset both speakers then connect?
HiI’m sure this has been asked before but I have trawled through and cannot find a definitive answer.I’m about to buy Arc, Sub 3, 2 x SL’s in a large room 8mx8m and it’s our main room so when we want to listen to music, I want the home cinema to enable the best possible outcome. The two SL’s will be all the way across the other side of the room which firstly I hope will work well as surrounds for the cinema. When we want to listen to music, I’d like some recommendations on how best to do this please. My personal view is that I’d like the two SL’s to form a stereo pair and the Sub 3 to provide the bass. However, after reading other posts I’m concerned that this isn’t ideal. Can I ‘group’ for specific uses that I can swap between easily when I tell Sonos what I’m doing i.E. use the voice services to form the groups automatically as needed.I’ve read that this is possible however when Pairing and Un-pairing you lose the Home Cinema Trueplay settings? Is this true.Any recommendation please wo
Hi all, I got a quite strange scenario, my Sonos app on the phone is showing Dolby Digital 5.1 but I get no sound from rear speakers, playing media through Apple TV. Everything is installed correctly with true play calibration. If I force the tv to play stereo PCM, then I can hear sound coming from rear speakers (but it is not true surround as you all know).Anyone got any ideas on what could be the issue here?Appreciate your input. /MM
Hi there,I recently bought a 2nd hand Beam (gen 1), which is connected to my TV via ARC. Besides an Apple TV, I also use Spotify Connect directly on the Beam and regularly use AirPlay 2 to stream audio from different Apple devices to the Beam. Everything works nicely, but I would like to take it up a notch by adding 2 rears to create a 5.0 surround system (preferably some 2nd hand Play:1s). Once the Play:1s are added as rear speakers, I understand that they will play ambient sounds (in case of stereo sources) or the specific channel signal (in case of Dolby Digital 5.1 sources) when watching TV (signals coming through the ARC connection), right? Also, when I stream music through Spotify Connect right on the Beam (and the music option is set to “full”) they will act as a stereo pair and play the music together with the Beam, right? Now my question is: with both Play:1s set up as rear speakers in the surround system, what happens if I use Airplay 2 to stream music to my Beam? I know that y
After some opinions. I currently have lounge set up with Beam gen 1 - sub gen 2 - 2x One SL’s for rears. I have been gifted 2 x sonance ceiling speakers. I will buy the amp to drive these but not sure where to go with it. Shall a bond the amp to the beam and use the ceiling speakers as rears or lose the beam and use the amp and ceilings as fronts then bond the sub and one SLs as rears creating a 4.1 system with phantom front.
I am currently getting my 2 replacement remote for my 4k Apple TV that is less than 8 months old. So this will be the 3rd remote I’ve had in a very short amount of time. The actual IR (infrared) emitter on the Apple TV remote keeps going out and thus it will not work with the Playbar. If anyone is having the same issue, open up your camera app on your cell phone and point the top of the Apple TV remote towards the camera lens and look for a little red light shining on your phone screen when you press the volume up/down/mute. If you do NOT see any red light that usually means that you have a bad Apple TV remote. You will not necessarily have issues working other functions from that remote as most of the functions with the Apple TV are through bluetooth connection and NOT IR connection. The ability to use the Sonos IR volume control is specifically using the IR side of the Apple TV remote. Hope this info helps someone as this has been extremely frustrating for me.
I'm trying to use my Apple TV. It outputs PCM (multi channel) for many programs on Netflix etc, but it also outputs Atmos fine when encoded . The built in app on the Sony TV does Dolby digital plus. The built in app sounds miles better. The multi channel PCM sounds dull, flat and lifeless.Others have tested and have pointed at the Arc and it's reproduction of multi channel PCM. Is there a fix en route, or does the Apple TV go in the bin?
I want to use Sonos sound for my Apple TV. I have in ceiling speakers now with Sonos s1 amp powering the sound, with a nearby TV. Can I upgrade to Sonos s2 amp and use the sound for TV via Sonos speakers while using Apple TV to show the visuals/video?In another area, I have Sonos2 with sound bar and sub, working with newer TV, but want to use the in ceiling speakers for surround, which are currently attached to a Sonons 1 amp. Do I just need to buy Sonos 2 amp and connect them to this system? Thanks.
Hi All, I wanted to revive a topic from a few years ago about trueplay “loosing” a speaker during tuning. I upgraded my family room setup with an arc that replaced a beam. I went through the steps of disconnecting the surround and sub from the beam which I loved to another room. I then added the arc and the associated surround components. When I listen everything seems to be playing. However when I go to tune I get a “lost speaker” as shown on the screenshot attached. I went through multiple total reboots of my WiFi and the speakers per previous suggestions but it doesn’t seem to help. I submitted a diagnostic 137804396. Any insight would be appreciated!!
Hi, I currently own the Sonos Play 1 speakers but now want to add a sound bar that will tie in with them. I’m very limited for space and would prefer the absolute least amount of cables for connecting my sound bar to the tv. Can anyone recommend the easiet/cleanest sound bar option that I can connect to the rest of my system. Looking to mount it on the wall right under the TV.thanks for your help.

My current set up is an HDFury Arcana that has a Chromecast plugged into it and then one output going into my projector and one arc output going into the Sonos Arc. Things I’ve tried:> unplugging everything> checking the arcana module about CEC problems> don’t have a CEC TV to set it up with> skipped through the TV set up in sonosPlease advise, absolutely stumped on how to use a Sonos Arc in this setup!
