Hi Another bizarre, confusing issue with Sonos Arc connectivity to Alexa.Arc stopped responding to voice commands, even though set up correctly, skills enabled in Alexa app etc. I think it’s a conflict between the Arc and my Kindle Fire HD. Ie, the voice command is only heard thru the Kindle, not the Arc. If I disable the skill on the Alexa app on the Kindle, it reiterates that status, disabled etc. (Ie thru the Kindle)If the Kindle is off, no sound thru either Arc or Kindle and no response to voice command. What’s weird:1. This has only occurred in last few days. Kindle has been on and in same room as Arc for months, without this glitch?2. When I checked Alexa app on Kindle, it initially didn’t recognise any devices anyway. Now it does.3. Alexa app was running happily on iPhone alongside Arc. Suggests that it’s only conflicting with the Kindle?4. I’ve noticed the Alexa app lists the Arc (“living room”) and TV (“living room TV”. Is that right? I’ve tried disabling and re enabling but no
I have a patio with a Samsung TV (QN85B) hooked up to 2x Sonos amps for some virtual surround. The amps are in a closet in the house so the HDMI is converted over a cat6 cable to make the run. For some reason the audio from YouTube is all glitchy and cuts out intermittently. See video.https://photos.app.goo.gl/T1GQAAnKWhXPLkeu7When playing a test tone through YouTube it sounds like Morse code at times because of the audio cutting out.My installer has replaced the HDMI converter twice. Once with the same brand and another time with a different brand altogether. One was for ARC audio only and the other is a full HDMI converter (video and everything).Other apps work fine.I bought a new Google Chromecast 4k and the problem exists there as well. For me, this rules out the “app” portion of it being Samsung’s fault since Samsung’s YouTube app is Tizen based and the Chromecast is Android based. Could still have something to do with Samsung’s audio engine, ARC port, etc… I’m not sure exact
Hi everyone,I am a college student trying to cobble together the best home system I can with Used sonos’s. I have 2 Play ones and recently purchased a Connect. The goal: Have TV output come out of a 3rd party speaker and the 2 sonos Ones that are mounted in the rear of the room. My TV has a optical cable for audio output. I have bought a converter from Optical (out of the TV) into RCA to go into the Sonos Connect. And RCA to Analog into the 3rd party speaker. So far I cannot find a way to make it workFirstly, I wanted to make sure that this set up will work as expected. Secondly I would love advice on how to make this work or what I might be doing wrong. Thanks!
Hello, In my lounge I have an LG OLED TV and connected to it are@Sony X800M2 that plays DVD-AudioSonos Arc In another room where I listen to a lot of my music I have an Era 300 Is there anyway I can get the Sony to play to the Era.I tried grouping the speakers together in the App but then that wants to play the music selected on my phone. I am sure I had this working tonight as I received my order of DSOTM in Dolby Atmos, started to play it bu then the phone went and it was my sister. Half and hour later I went back to DSOTM and once again the phone went and it was my daughter. An hour later to late for music I am working my way to get two more Eras. Then I can have a pair hooked up to the Arc as rear speakers but I am financially a little way off that at the moment Ta
Hi allive had this problem for a while now, tried all settings etc.I have a LG C2 connected to Sonos arc via earc/arc port. 2 ones for surround and sub.no problems whatsoever when toggled to arc, plays perfectly,no issues.as soon as earc is toggled on , every few minutes a slight glitch/drop in sound occurs, only brief, but noticeable. Purchased 75” Samsung Tv and new Sonos Arc. Geek Squad set up. Not getting Dolby Atmos to work. Spent many hours on phone with Sonos to be told system working fine. Spent just as many hours with Samsung. When Arc is connected through E-Arc the Dolby Atmos on the TV comes up as function not available. When we disconnect the E Arc cable and unplug the Sonos the function is available on Samsung. Each company blames the other. What are we doing wrong and which company is responsible?
I have two in-ceiling speakers hooked up to a connect:amp. The connect amp and the beam are both plugged into the router directly. I am able to successfully add the connect:amp as surrounds to the beam setup but I am not able to get any sound out of the surrounds. Any idea?
Hi All,I recently upgraded the software on my Sonos Playbar however this had the effect of my Play 1 speakers and Sub no longer working. All of my speakers and TV are using the same internet access. I also removed the speakers and sub from the ‘Sonos’ app on my phone and re-installed. I also disconnected my internet and factory reset the speakers in an effort to get them to work but with no luck. I understand I can no longer upgrade the software on my speakers. Lastly, my speakers and sub do work when I stream music via Spotify so the issue is getting the speakers and sub to work via my TV (LG OLEG). Any help that could be provided would be appreciated.Cheers,SH
I am about to purchase a new Samsung television . My current television has a Playbar and a gen. 1 Sub. connected . All are functioning as expected. My questions is: Should I uninstall these two Sonos devices before I connect them to the new television or is the set-up a simple “plug and play” procedure ?Thank you. Mod Edit: Edited for accuracy - “Playbar” instead of “soundbar”
I currently have the 5.1 setup with a playbase and am having issues with audio from my Play 1s. The audio skips every few seconds or so for everything (spotify, video games, regular TV, streaming).I have an ethernet cable plugged into the base and have the others connected via wifi. I have read through a few posts about remedying my issue but none have worked. I tried:Hard reset all speakersUnplug speakers and router then reconnectUnplugging eternity cable and restarting router then reconnecting ethernetIs there is anything else I can try?
I have the following setup in backyard: Amp connected to outdoor 3rd party speakersAmp LFE connected to dedicated sub amp LFE input I plan to add another Amp and 2 more speakers to create surround sound for movies. If I wanted to add another sub with its own dedicated amp, can I do the following?1. Y-split the LFE output of the primary Amp that's powering my current speakers and connect the split connection to 2nd sub amp?2. Can I use the LFE output of the 2nd Amp (powering surround speakers) and connect it to the LFE input of the 2nd sub amp? TIA!
Beam Gen 2 has to be restarted every time we want sound from our brand new Samsung TV. Will not appear in list of sound sources on TV. Connection is via HDMI eARC. If we power off Beam and restart it does appear. Why? Why? Why?
Today's issue: Have a beam and 2 Ones, connected beam to router via ethernet and HDMI to arc HMDI on TV. Things tend to work BUT I have 2 issues that keep happening. 1) TV box (android box from Bell) keeps resetting and/or picture and sound stop for a second or two before coming back on OR TV box resets and produces a solid green screen and sometimes a nice bright magenta colour. 2) when listening to music via sonos app all of a sudden the sound will stop playing music and TV will start all on its own. Had Bell technican (I am in Toronto) here this am to trouble shoot new router with direct fiber connecting 1GB service and still having the issue.
I have (2) Era 100s as a stereo pair and a Sub Mini currently set up in my home office for listening to music while I work. I am looking at getting a Beam soundbar for the TV I have in this room and would like to create a surround sound system while watching movies. Am I able to create two “rooms” in the Sonos app that share devices: Beam + Eras + Sub for TV surround -and- Eras + Sub for music? The devices would stay put in both configurations. If I’m being silly and should just embrace the added audio of the Beam while listening to music, let me know.
Hi , I really need some advise as I’m getting lots of mix messages , To obtain surround sound can I use Sonos Celing and wall speakers with the arc 3rd gen and sub 3rd gen all runnning from the Sonos ampive been told that I should only do the Celing speakers or wal speakers combined with the arc and sub connected in to the amp to get the best sound surround tv experience can someone please advicethanks
