Hey folks, does anyone know if the Arc Ultra paired with Play:1 “bug” still works and hasn’t been “fixed” by Sonos? If so, I might actually get an Arc Ultra and let my Play:1s continue to shine for a while longer. Thanks.

Hi @ahdoor

Welcome back to the Sonos Community!

The issue that allowed Play:1s to be bonded to an Arc Ultra was resolved soon after Arc Ultra’s release. As I understand it, anyone who managed to bond their Play:1s to an Arc Ultra will still have them bonded, but no-one else will be able to do so, and anyone who did and un-bonds them will not be able to re-bond them. In addition, TruePlay Tuning will not be available (again, as far as I understand it) to Arc Ultra systems with Play:1s bonded as surrounds.

So, the short answer is: no.

I hope this helps.

Thank you @Corry P for the detailed explanation. This is extremely helpful. I guess I’ll stick to my current set up then. Cheers,

You can always investigate 3rd party apps that allow that functionality. Once bonded, you can still use the Sonos app and I believe Trueplay will still complete as it has worked previously for other ‘non-compatible’ bonded configurations.

Thanks @Mr. T  any hint on what the third party app is? Try googling and didn’t get any luck. Appreciate it!

SonoSequencr on iOS only is one, but I have not tried it personally.

You would be better taking your original query to the Sonos forum on Reddit, more likely to get responses from users of such apps there.
