using one of my speakers on its own

I have a play bar, sub, one and one SL set up as a 5.1 home theatre system. I want to be able to take the Sonos one outside and use it when we are in the hot tub. Am I able to have it be set up as it’s own room, and on its own when we are outside without playing on all the other speakers too.

You’d have to “break” the 5.1 room up by unbonding the surround speakers and setting them up as separate “rooms” eveytime, and then re-set them up as surrounds when done, something I’d be unwilling to do frequently.

OTOH, if you’re willing to take both surround speakers out to the hot tub, you could just set the surround speakers to “full” in the controller, and you’d get stereo from them, ....assuming you were in range of the 5Ghz signal from the sound bar, which is what they’re connected to.
