There’s a new firmware upgrade on the Samsung support page for the q90t/q95t series...1302.4..dated 14.07.

dont know if it solves any problems, didn’t find the time to update yet..

That will be interesting to see if it’s a fix for one connect and the sound cut out probs. Fingers crossed!

You can also get the metal one on eBay for 30-40€

I agree with Rudi, one connect box problem. Friend has purchased a frame so thought I would test by Arc with that and same result.

Q90T all the way (although I’m having to return mine as it developed a screen fault after 24 hours ) Exactly the same  spec TV without the one connect and the metal remote. I do hate the plastic remote so purchased the metal version on amazon :joy:

I really think it’s a problem of the one connect box...i have the q90t now and there a no problems whatsoever anymore...highly recommend that combination

I also just received the Sonos Arc + Sub and it is not working with the Frame 2020 50“. The Arc doesn't play any sound at all from the TV, but it obviously works when streaming music from my iPhone on the bar.

The fun thing is that it was working when I connected it for the first time, but then it felt like the connection is distracted because the sound started to jerk but now it is completely gone. I also bought a new high quality HDMI cable but no change at all.

It really annoys me if you spend so much money on a new TV and Sound system and then it doesn't work.

I tried a lot of your tipps and tricks but nothing worked so far. Still no sound :(

I don’t think it’s necessarliy a bad thing -

Found this on the Sony site

‘Pulse-Code Modulation (PCM) and the Dolby Digital® technology refer to different types of digital audio recordings. PCM is the conventional method for converting analog audio into digital audio. The PCM audio recorded on DVD is a two-channel digital, stereo audio track.’

Its all far too complicated

I have Samsung The Frame 2020 with the Sonos Arc. Hdmi earc doesn't work. In the couple of weeks, two engineers came by and they can't solve it. When can I expect a firmware update for this problem? I can now only watch PCM, but I want Dolby Atmos!

When I watch something in DD+ 5.1, the input now shows the following, whereas before it was showing Dolby Digital Plus 5.1

is that a Good thing? 😂

Q90T all set up and confirm the same as Rudi that all working as it should be.

Can now select eARC to auto and have full DA on Netflix (to start with)

Q90t arrived. EARC possible now without any problems, Arc is shown as HDMI EARC Receiver. Interestingly the sonos app now shows Input: Dolby Atmos instead of DD+ (Dolby Atmos), when watching a show on Netflix in Atmos.

so i think it’s really a one connect box issue.

i have the tv on its stand anyway, don’t care about the one visible connection, the arc in front hides all cables..so just saved 200€ and now have the full capability...

Excellent news - My Q90T arrives today! I’m not fussed about cables either as mine will be on a stand.

Still not heard from returns people about collecting Q95T though.

Update from Sonos

Hi Mike,   Thanks for the information.

The behavior you have reported and have experienced has already been notified directly to Samsung developers for further investigation.

Sonos and Samsung engineers are working together to get this issue resolved as soon as possible.

- Once there is an update, we will make sure to notify the affected customers.

Thanks again.   With best regards,    Olivier H. Sonos | Customer Care | Contact Us

Out of curiosity, where are you returning the Q95T from and getting the Q90T from? Trying to figure out which retailers will be most helpful for this.

Having a similar issue with Samsung Frame (2020) - while using an appropriate HDMI cable.

Get Atmos on native apps and from ATV (with some lip sync issues)  … until I turn on eARC and it all mutes.

I know both Samsung and Sonos are aware of this issue.

Sounds the same as everyone here I’m afraid, I still think it’s down to the one connect on these TV’s, I’ve got bored of waiting for Samsung/Sonos - I’m very inpatient.

Purchased both mine through Samsung directly (online) They have 28 days no quibble return. Although I’m yet to hear from them about returning the Q95T but only submitted request last Friday)

I’ve now started a return on the Q95T and ordered a Q90T which will hopefully solve the issue.

Replacement arrives Wednesday.

Samsung and Sonos really need to step in and solve this.  I’m ready to pull the trigger on a 65” or 75” Samsung Frame (2020) and Sonos ARC to use with an Apple TV 4K and Panasonic 4K Blu-Ray Player, which will require eARC to work with uncompressed Atmos!

Thanks, so yes we've basically got the same. Both only can choose PCM and auto. My sonos app also shows atmos on atmos content. The thing is i saw nowhere in the tv that i was using dolby digital +. I tend to test the atmos from the arc and tried downloading some atmos files from the dolby and digitaltrend site. Both atmos by true hd content and digital + but when i try to play this from usb a voice tells me however the file is supposed to be atmos my device cant play the atmos sound / content. Do u perhaps have an idea how to test this are there other files am i doing something wrong. I find it hard to test it in netflix.

I’ve not tried any other content other than Netflix I'm afraid so can’t really help you on that, Netflix shows that have DA show that on the programme details - some examples are Okja, Rome those are the two I’ve tried and as I say these show up in Sonos app as Dolby Atmos (DD+)

Sorry if you already know the above and that I can’t help you with the other questions.

alright, just ordered the q90t, q95t will be returned...will let you know if that led to a solution

thanks man. In that case it would be an issue with the one connect box.

I also own the q95t and this is a big letdown after a lot of comparisons and trying to go future proof with earc. Also with this tv i can only select Auto or PCM, ill leave it on auto for now but nowhere to be seen if im using dolby digital +, only thing i see is dolby digital 5.1. In netflix i see atmos content thought but i rly wonder if it works because so far i havent rly heard things flying above my head. And in the store with the same tv and soundbar it was outstanding.

These are the settings I have to use to get any sound through the Arc, if I play a Netflix DA it shows in my Sonos app as ‘Dolby Atmos (DD+)’

If I’m viewing Sky Q content I have options PCM/Auto/Pass Through

If Netflix content I only have Auto/PCM
