Question

Sonos Arc Atmos capable TCL 8 series

Hey guys,

I recently bought an Arc and wanted to upgrade my TV to support Atmos.

I was looking at the TCL 8 series and noticed that with the latest firmware update it has eARC enabled.

My understanding was that only if the TV had HDMI 2.1 it would have eARC . Since it isn't HDMI 2.1  but the firmware update enables eARC , how would it work exactly?

Would the TCL 8 series after the update be able to play Atmos?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @krao619.

Thanks for reaching out and congratulations on having the new Sonos Arc, let me help and check it for you.

You may visit first our support article that outlines the main factors that determine if your Sonos Arc can play Dolby Atmos audio.

I suggest that it would be best to check with the TV manufacturer to see if it supports Dolby Atmos.
