mounting Sonos Arc

I want to mount my arc on the wall below my tv and have been watching YouTube videos by Peter Pee. He goes into technical details on all aspects of systems and mainly Sonos recently. According to Peter, there is an optimum distance from the arc that you can sit at to enjoy Atmos and the up-firing speakers are at a fixed angle not allowing for much adjustment to this distance. The only adjustment you can make with a wall mount is the distance below the ceiling. He provides a chart showing the impact of changing the height and changing the angle of the unit to the ideal sitting location. Wall mount does not allow for any angle change. Sonos should provide information on the best mounting option for a given setup. For example I have  a 75” tv and sit 15’ away from the arc  and can mount the arc 7’ below the seating. What is the best angle  for my arc??? Also, they should sell a mount that allows that allows adjustment of the angle.

Hi folks, thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Sonos community. I appreciate you providing the details of your concern and all the efforts. Let me help you with this.

Your reference is correct, Sonos Arc has two up-firing speakers within it that sound best when positioned either on a tabletop, or wall-mounted below a TV. Also, Sonos Arc requires a minimum of 5.5 inches on the front and sides of it, with at least 2 inches between the backside of the Arc and the TV when in a tabletop orientation. If wall-mounting, it is recommended to have a clearance of at least 5.5 inches between the TV and Arc.

We can wait for suggestions and feedback from our Sonos community users about changing the height and changing the angle of the unit to the ideal sitting location. You may also contact our Sales Specialists through phone or email for further assistance.

Let us know how you get on with the advice above.

Still nothing from sanus. But you can use the model SASB1 if you want it cheaper.

The issue is that is mounted to the tv not the wall, I have an issue where I must attach to the wall under my tv as it’s in a recessed space above the fireplace. I am now going to the hardware store this week to have a piece of wood cut to an angle to place behind the mount from sonos to achieve the appropriate listening distance even with my 14’ ceilings.
I’m disappointed that I have to do this to use my 1000$ speaker I assumed it would come with an option to angle the soundbar as that’s the most important part for atmos use. It’s a let down for sure...

I've been thinking along the same lines. How did you get on with this?

Well it works well but I feel the angle I did with the height was a little too much and my highs are below my ear level. I finally got an arcana and now all my vids play awesome but haven’t really tested much out for more than a couple minutes. I may remove the wood and just see how it sounds in comparison but I may just leave it because it was a lot of hassle to get it done lol

I haven't got any of the sonos gear yet. Still awaiting delivery after purchasing the arc, sub and one sls on Friday. I also need to purchase the Arcana too with my TV being ancient. At least it has Arc. Can't decide on a new TV🙄. Don't want an oled because of the kids and Samsungs don't do Dolby vision. Have to rip out a gas fireplace and start mounting all this on the wall so want to do it right first time. Maybe you need to slouch more 😂. Did true play help at all and had you tried it straight on the wall without the wood before you went to all this trouble? What tv and source are you running with the Arcana? Apologies for all the questions.

arc

arcana

thenarcana is only reason it works with arc and atmos it requires earc to run atmos unless it’s a directly connected player or avs receiver. Totally pain in ass but arcana is the cats meow. I get Dolby vision hdr10 not 10+ but meh.
