Hello,
does anyone know if this audio converter from monoprice convert a DTS HDMI source in a Optical Dolby Digital 5.1 for the playbar? Seems not to be a simple audio extractor, but a real converter.
Does anyone have personal experience with this?

It doesn't convert between formats - it just allows you to extract the digital audio. So if your audio is DTS it will still output DTS on the digital outputs.

Its a little confusing in what it says it does. Mode A - tells your DVD player for example your TV is only capable of stereo sound. Mode B - tells the DVD player your capable of other methods. It still relies on the player to send specific signals.
