Hopefully not a dumb question - I have a playbar and recently upgraded to a bigger tv- the playbar is mounted behind the tv and no longer can be hot the the remotes IR- I can change the audio on the TV BUT NOTHING happens with the Playbars audio - with the comcast remote With the LG supplied remote the audio changes on the playbar when I use it slowly--- too fast and it gets out of sync Any way to just tell the PLAYBAR to use the volume from the Tv/ so I can exclusively use the Comcast remote only?? They isn't really another place to but the PLAYBAR- big tv- nd not room Below it... Thanks nic
Hey there! I have a Klipsch Soundbar (RSB-11) and have been wanting to get some Sonos speakers as well. Would it be possible to use a Sonos Connect on the soundbar, and have it work with 2 Play:1's - for music purposes and for home theater purposes. Thanks!
I have turned tv speakers off liked advised but when I change the volume I get a message saying " ur tv is set to external speakers , adjust the volume on the connected speakers directly " then disappears about 10 secs later , how can I get rid of this message ! I've a Samsung 60inch tv
I have just reinstalled my Sonos Playbar and am experiencing a very annoying high pitched noise when power is turned on. I have tried circulating the power source and removing the optical cable however the noise continues redgarsless of whether there is sound playing through the speaker or not. Has anyone else had this problem or found any solutions?
Hello. In our new home we have two rear and one front center speakers built in the ceiling. Does anyone know if/how I can combine those with the PlayBar, either through a ConnectAmp (which I already have) or a Connect in combination with my Receiver/Amplifier? (I am familiar with the traditional PayBar/Play3/Surround set up for 5.1 but for this room I'd like to leverage existing equipment). Thanks!
Hi, I have a Sharp LC-60LE550U TV. I bought a Sonos Playbar, but the TV does not send audio signal to the soundbar. Did some research and all comments claimed this is Sharp's issue. Yes, I set the audio output to variable. NO MORE SHARP TV FOR LIFE! I am planning to buy a new TV and move the Sharp TV to the game room for my son to play his xbox. Where can I find a list of "supported" TV manufacturer on sonos website? Also, how can I tell if the TV is supporting DD 5.1? Thanks
So I am going to be picking up the playbar, sub, and two rear play 1's in a couple weeks and was curious if anyone has any recommendations for any specific hdmi cables I should use or if there are certain features I should make sure are available on whichever one I pick up? Thanks for the help!
Hi All, I've got a configuration question I was hoping people could help out with. I've got a Windows 10 PC that acts as a HTPC with HDMI into a Sony TV. I'm not that keen on the PlayBar (it just won't physically fit with my setup) so was looking to get 1 * Sonos Connect 2 * Sonos Play 3 1 * Sonos Play 1 and run an Optical cable from the TV to the Sonos Connect. Will this work so I can play * Audio from the TV * Audio from the PC on HDMI Passthrough * Audio from the App for Spotify/Pandora etc Or is the Connect only for using with your own speakers? Will there be any latency /sync issues with the HTPC if i'm playing Netflix etc? Thanks in advance Chris
Hey guys, I feel dumb for not being able to figure this out, but I'm looking for some help in getting the most out of my 5.1 setup with my Xbox. I've read as many posts as I can but some are quite old and a lot of the links given by Sonos Support are broken. When I go into the Xbox audio settings I have the option for 5.1 but it comes back with an error. I have my Playbar connected to my Samsung TV (2yrs old), along with a Sub and two Play 1's. When I go into the Controller it says that the player is outputting in stereo. I've read that some people are using switches to connect their Xbox directly to their TV but it seem like it should be more simple than that given everything is fairly new. Any thoughts on the settings to get surround going? Thanks in advance!
I am looking to upgrade my system by add the PLAYBAR. I currently have the connect amp which is connected to some book shelf speakers. To cut down on space and clutter I want to pair the connect amp to the PLAYBAR. This is so that I can play records through the PLAYBAR. Can I pair both device wirelessly? Is there a better way to pair these together than what I am thinking? I can not move the CONNECT AMP to the PLAYBAR, there is no shelf for the AMP.
Hi guys, Recently purchased, a playbar, sub, 2 x play1s for a surround setup. Love them but am having an issue getting the TV audio into the system. I have a Panasonic 4k tv that doesn't pass 5.1 thru to the optical from HDMI sources so I purchased a Monoprice MD-415ARC, it works great to get my HDMI sources into the playbar as 5.1 but I'm having an issue getting any audio from the TV to the Monoprice via ARC. I cant even get 2 ch audio. In Viera link when I select Home Cinema to enable the ARC (worked perfectly with my previous home theatre receiver) it just jumps back to TV, ive tired every dip switch combo on the Monoprice and turned ARC on on it and I just cant get anything out of it. Nothing from Live TV or the netfix app. Both work perfectly if I connect the optical cable from the TV direct to the Playbar thou. Hoping someone here has had and fixed the same issue (haven't been able to find an answer via search) otherwise I think Im going to have to get an optical switch
I have a medium sized room, and I plan on pairing either two Play 1, 3, or 5s with a Playbar and Sub. Is the 3 worth the extra $100 over the 1? Is the 5 worth the extra $ over the other two options? Even mix of TV/Movie watching and music listening for this set-up. Thanks in advance!
Being completely new and looking to purchase a new TV for my basement to be used with playbar, sub, and two rear play 1's for surround sound, Will this tv allow me to enjoy the surround sound setup? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-75-class-74-5-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-ultra-hd-tv-black/5182036.p?skuId=5182036 Any help would be greatly appreciated!
So I have a couple weeks of construction left before my basement will be finished. I have opted to go with the sound set up consisting of the playbar, sub, and two rear play 1's. Being that I have never had a sound system before, this is all new to me. One thing I have been reading about is that some tv's don't allow you to maximize the sound capabilities of the "5.1" set up because they play "down". This has me confused. Being that I will also be purchasing my new TV for the basement to use with the sonos setup in the next couple of weeks, is there a feature or option that I should be making sure my new TV would have to avoid this issue? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
We have an old very large plasma TV with no optical connection. I have linked this TV to my Play 5 via the headphone socket and the sound is outstanding. My daughter went to find her phone twice she was convinced it was ringing in the kitchen, both times it was on the programme. A friend was sure I had a seperate sub. Very happy.
I purchased the soundbar and don't have short term plans to add anything else (sub, surround). My TV does not output from HDMI to optical in Dolby 1) Will I get a different format or benefit if I still add a switch or am I only getting Stereo given my setup? I say this since when I play Netflix from the TV, it outputs to the soundbar as dolby and it seems to sound better. Should I be buying a switch? 2) Is there a small switch that you can recommend that can hide behind the tV that sits over my fireplace (not much space behind the tv)?
I bought Play 5 three years ago with objective to expand to home theatre. Its time to buy Playbar, however holding off my purchase for the new release specially HDMI ARC connectivity. tempted dramatically with Bose 300 series which suits my purpose. Some indications on release will assist my itch
I've made a few changes to my network to allow for better online gaming, and I believe that is causing my sub and playbar to be knocked off the WiFi constantly. As of right now, even the hardwired method I can't even get Sonos' app on my Mac or iPhone to recognize the Sub for installation. I've tried the hard reset of the sub and no avail. I am hoping it's just something simple on my firewall or network that can bring my system back up and running. My living room is usually configured with: - 1 Playbar - 1 Sub - 2X Play 1s I do have a spare play 3 in another bedroom as it's own zone. The diagnostics report number is: 6739039.
