I have a Sonos Roam that is Bluetooth linked to an Amazon firestick for movies outside in my backyard. The firestick is connected to a projector. I grouped my Sonos moves as a stereo pair in the front and a sub and two play 1’s in the back for a more immersive sound. It sounded awesome with no audio latency lag. I'm wondering if I have a beam, sub, and two play 1’s if that is transferable to play audio in a 5.1 set up outside being grouped to the roams Bluetooth or if the Bluetooth portion limits that capability. I've heard of connecting an Apple TV outside to it through all Wi-Fi but i also don't know if the beam isn't connected directly into a tv if it can send out a 5.1 sound over Wi-Fi. Anyone have any insights on these two possible set ups? Thanks in advance, Brian
After a year of trying to figure out why I would have 1 or so seconds of complete sound drop when watching atmos content every 10-25 minutes, I found a thread that fixed it. Setup is a Samsung Q80, Apple TV 4K, Sonos Arc/Sub/Ones. In the Apple TV 4K, turning off match frame rate made the sound drops go away. From what I read, when/if the frame rate reconciles the sound drops. Hopefully this helps others as it took finding the right thread to fix it a year later! Good luck all!
I’ve had my Sonos Arc for about a year now and it was working just fine up until about a week and a half ago when it just completely stop putting out sound from the TV. I reset the Arc to factory settings and went through the setup process again and everything goes smooth until I get to “Use your TV remote to turn on TV speakers in sound settings.” When I hit test connection it says “TV speakers not connected.” Not sure what to do, I’ve unplugged all other hdmi cables, the TV is an LG C9 if that helps.
I have a couple of old Sonos Play:1s which I used to run from the router via a Sonos Bridge. This stopped working a while back, so I now plug one of the Sonos Play:1s directly into the router. Is there anyone out there who has the Sonos wired product and a Sky Glass TV and if so, have they managed to get their Sonos connected to the internet and working? Many thanks, H
I currently have the Beam + 2 Ikea Symfonisk bookshelves speakers. The Beam placed in front and the two Symfonisk in the back. However, I’m interested in more sound in the front as not everything I watch onTV is with proper surround sound and then the Beam is a little «weak» sounding all alone. So I was thinking adding two Symfonisk in front as they are cheap and produce good enough sound for this use. Would this work? Beam + 2x Symfonisk taking care of the sounds in front and supporting the Beam in stereo broadcasts and 2x Symfonisk in the back as the rear surround speakers? Thanx in advance for any reply and help!
Hi There, Just wondering would it be possible that i could get Dolby Atmos to pay from my Gen 1 Sonos Beam while connecting it to a Sony A90J. Planning to connect Apple TV 4K that support Dolby Atmos too direct to the TV while the Sonos Beam is connected to eArc port. If yes what setting do i need to set to get this to work.
Hi All, My Sonos Beam has randomly started to make a beeping sound almost as if someone was hitting the mute button on/off in rapid succession. I’m a bit lost on what this could be? This even takes place when the TV is off. I’ve tried restarting the device, changing my Wifi channel, unplugging as well as a different HDMI cord to the TV. Has anyone experienced this before?
Hey Guys,I have an Arc with Sub and surrounds and have recently added a Nintendo switch to the setup. I own a PS5 too but the way Nintendo powers down is different to Sony PS5 in the way that PS5 automatically restores my TV source to the last played screen before turning on the console. Nintendo switch on the other hand, asks to choose the Source. Does anyone know what source Input does Sonos Arc use on a Samsung Series 8 TV ( TU8000) ? I see Sonos and Sonos Multimedia server as two of the options in my TVs source input that refer to the Home theatre.
Hello all, First post here so apologies if anything is off, let me know if so. Anyway, I’m looking at upgrading my current Beam Gen 1 to a Gen 2 to get Atmos. Most of the content I watch is from 4k UHD disks using the PS5 as a player. Now, my TV only has a HDMI Arc connection and not the e-ARC. I was originally led to believe I couldn’t therefore get Atmos but have now read I’ll simply get Dolby Digital Plus (which my TV can passthrough) rather than True HD.However, I have since been told that because 4k UHD disks use a True HD track then it won’t be possible to get Atmos from the Beam Gen 2 without getting a HD Fury Arcana to fix the no e-ARC issue. My assumption had been teh Trud HD track on the disc would simply revert to a Dolby Digital Plus track but I’m now being told that isn’t the case. Can anyone confirm this for me, or tell me the opposite? Basically, has anyone got experience playing 4k UHD disks with the Beam Gen 2 and a HDMI Arc connection and let me know what happened? I d
Good morning everyone. I have a set of two Play 5s that I use to listen to music. Now I would like to improve the TV audio a lot (especially the speech), do you think I improve a lot by purchasing and connecting a Beam soundbar? Or do I just connect the two Play 5s to the TV? Thank you

Hello Community. I need some help with what is hopefully a basic situation, but has confounded me for the past few weeks despite multiple searches and deep contemplation. I’m seeking know-how for the best way to connect an Apple TV 4K, a Samsung Frame TV 2022, a Sonos Amp wired to two in-ceiling speakers, and wirelessly connected to a Sonos Sub. Currently the Apple TV is connected to the Samsung One Connect Box via HDMI. Do I now need to connect the One Connect Box to the Sonos Amp? And if so, with what type of cable? I purchased a Sonos Optical Audio to HDMI adapter - is that what I use to connect the Box to the Amp, and then tune some settings in the Apple TV and/or the Frame TV? Thank you in advance for the help with this fun project!
Hi All, Just bought a Prism Q65 QE Pro TV, the TV comes with the Bluetooth remote control and had connect the TV and playbar via Optical cable. However, Im not able to control the Volume from TV remote control. Appreciate if anyone can help to advice the correct way to setup the TV with Playbar. Thank you !Darren
I am building a new home. I am not looking for a high end theater set up. Attached is my floor plan. I plan to use a soundbar, sub-woofer, and 2 ceiling speakers for TV viewing. Note TV is in the corner. I would use two ceiling speakers which are in marked in red with an amp. It is my understanding the ceiling speakers should be behind the seating area. Does that seem accurate? My second option would be to add two more speakers (blue) and play only music through the whole room with 4 speakers. The room measures 26’8” x 20’6”. Can I have the blue speakers off for the TV and all 4 on for music. Can I accomplish this with one amp? Thanks.
Hi all,I have just moved into a new home and want to get a Sonos Sub and either Beam or Arc to improve my TV audio. I don’t mind paying the extra for the Arc but am worried it might not agree with my room shape with some of the surround effects. Ceiling height is standard at around 8ft, but we are in a room which has been made open plan and we are using half of it for TV/Sofa so while it’s almost perfect square on 3 sides, the left side walls are a lot further away. Will this cause issues with the sound? Have attached a rough sketch of the room shape. Thanks for any help!
Hi there,I used to have 5.1.2 setup with Sonos arc and two play 1’s, but since I moved recently, the play 1’s aren’t really an option anymore. So I was wondering a few things.1. Is it possible to use Sonos Arc + Sub alongside a Sonos Amp + two in-ceiling speakers, and use the in-ceiling speakers as left/right behind the couch in my home theatre setup?2. Is it possible to have the same amp connected to another pair of in-ceiling or wall speakers for instance in the living room, and while running a movie on the home theatre sound setup, to be playing music on these? Or would I need another amp for that?I hope you can clarify for me :-)All the best.// Mikkel
Hi Sonos, hope someone can help me! Set up my playbar and play 1s to have full surround sound in my lounge. The next day I realise there is no sound coming from the rear speakers, launch the sonos app from my iPhone to the message "It looks like one of your speakers could be unplugged. Go to room settings to see which one is missing." The only option I have is to 'remove surrounds' Once this is done and Play 1s re added as the rear speakers everything is fine. But remember the whole process of readding and re-tuning through true play takes a good 5-10mins! The next day the same thing happens! (i.e have left home gone to work etc etc) I have so far had to do this 7 days in a row! Please help how do i fix this??
I am setting up a small media room (10’ x 20’) solely for the purpose of watching movies and television, as we already have a separate audio setup for music for other rooms (a few AirPlay Bowers & Wilkens A7s, and a Nakamichi SoundSpace 8 connected to an Apple Airport Express). I have been considering a Sonos 5.1 setup as we need a 5.1 audio system to pair with our TV, and we do not need any additional music streaming services for this room - simply a decent 5.1 audio system that will work well with our television and streaming devices. My wife would prefer an audio system that could be controlled by our TV or PVR’s IR remote, and can be set to power on/off automatically with the television (Sonos can do this as well). We have purchased a 75” 4K Sharp Aquos LC-75N8000U (https://www.sharptvusa.com/tvs/4k/lc-75n8000u), and connected devices will include: Apple TV 4 64GB for streaming 1080p movies from computer, as well as AirPlay Mirroring from iOS devices. I would like to purchase and record player and connect to my playbar that is connected to a sub and two play 1s. Could someone give me recommendations on a good set up? What will I need in order to connect the record player to my playbar? Links to Amazon would be appreciated :)
Well, after a couple years of looking into the Sonos system, I finally got the 5.1 package. Along with a new Sony 65"850D. I've had Best Buy deliver and set up everything a couple weeks ago. I gotta say it's one of the best investments I've made! Now I'm saving up for play 1 in my bedroom. I sometimes stream movies online. With those I know not to expect to have a true 5.1 surround sound experience. I don't expect free movies are putting out quality sound but watching Netflix it's mostly on 5.1 and sounds fantastic! The picture quality of the Sony tv is significantly impressive compared to my 10 year old Phillips plasma tv. Watching football on it is very impressive! Everything is so crisp and clear. The tv also has a football mode sound that passes through the Sonos! I don't feel the need to go to an overpriced, crowded game. I'm definitely a happy consumer!
I have a new Playbar, and I'm wondering if it's faulty - I've read and followed all the instructions/ Sonos links about the available settings etc. The playbar is flat on the TV stand with no side obstructions. I've not really played much 5.1 content, but when playing stereo music e.g Spotify there seems to be very little Left-Right separation. I've tried Audio test tones which play frequency sweeps on Left then Right alternately, plus various music which has very clear separation e.g. end of Bohemian Rhapsody where there are guitar sections on each side alternately (not my normal listening but seemed a good test piece:-) If I get my head right up to the Playbar I can just about tell which side the sound is coming from, but it certainly doesn't project into the room - from a normal listening position it sounds like mono. The same source on a pair of Play1's has great separation, so it's not a source issue. I'm wondering whether or not my Playbar could be faulty?.(with 9 speak
